Chapter 1010: Rillaboom

Chapter 1010: Rillaboom

As soon as they landed, Julian saw Rillaboom take out several berries and place them before him and Metagross, with a flattering smile on its face.

This was its way of showing respect.

Glancing at the berries, Julian noted they were all rare and precious ones.

"I ask, you answer," Julian cut straight to the point, wasting no words.

Rillaboom immediately nodded. Although it didn’t know what questions it would be asked, the gap in strength was too vast—there was simply no room for refusal.

Unless it had a death wish.

Besides, answering a few questions didn’t seem like a big deal. It didn’t have any major secrets anyway.

"What’s the deal with Kleavor of the Grandtree Arena? I heard you’re one of its subordinates," Julian asked.

Kleavor was what Julian wanted to know most about. The Pokémon he had asked earlier had all mentioned Kleavor of the Grandtree Arena.

Moreover, several areas were under Kleavor’s control.

"That is our king. I am indeed one of the king’s subordinates," Rillaboom replied, its tone tinged with a hint of fear—not fear of Metagross, but fear of Kleavor.

Despite being a late-stage pseudo-Champion, the fact that it felt fear just mentioning Kleavor’s name indicated that Kleavor was undoubtedly at the Champion-level, and not just an ordinary Champion at that.

"You’re the one in charge of Horseshoe Plains—then how many subordinates like you does your king, Kleavor, have under it?"

"Eighteen," Rillaboom answered, a number that surprised Julian.

"Besides Horseshoe Plains, Lake Verity, Grueling Grove, and Oreburrow Tunnel, there are fourteen other places like these?" Julian asked, his tone laced with skepticism.

But Rillaboom nodded: "Yes, each of us eighteen rules over one area."

"Are they all as strong as you?"

Hearing this, Rillaboom looked smug. "My strength ranks among the top five. The strongest among us is a peak pseudo-Champion Goodra, and even the weakest are all at least early-stage pseudo-Champions."

"And how powerful is your king?"

With eighteen pseudo-Champion subordinates, Julian felt he had underestimated Kleavor.

Rillaboom shook its head. "I don’t know. Apart from the other four kings, we’ve never seen our king fight at full strength."

Unintentionally, Rillaboom had revealed another crucial piece of information.

"Aside from Kleavor, there are four other beings of similar status?"

Julian couldn't help but raise his voice a little.

"Yes," Rillaboom nodded.

He had initially thought Kleavor was likely the strongest in this Primal Secret Realm, but it turned out there were four others.

Just how vast was this Secret Realm?

A single Kleavor ruled over eighteen areas. Although the exact size of each area was unclear, based on the scale of the Horseshoe Plains, Julian had a rough idea.

The combined area of these eighteen regions was probably comparable to the size of Drakoria, or at the very least, most of it.

And there were four other kings as well.

Since they were also kings, it was likely that the areas under their control were similar in size to Kleavor's.

'Five regions, each roughly the size of Drakoria!'

At this thought, Julian's eyes widened.

His first reaction was wondering how long it would take to explore all of this. His second thought was how many treasures must be hidden in such a vast area.

And his third thought was, what kind of beings were these five kings?

"In this place, is there anyone stronger than your king?"

This Primal Secret Realm had at least five Pokémon at late-stage Champion or even peak Champion-level, each with over a dozen pseudo-Champion subordinates.

And below those pseudo-Champions, there were Elites.

Coupled with the sheer size of this Secret Realm, Julian couldn't help but wonder if there might really be First-class Legendaries here.

Rillaboom shook its head, looking somewhat confused. "The king is the strongest. Aside from the other kings, no Pokémon here is stronger than him."

In its impression, there simply were no Pokémon stronger than the king.

"Alright, you can go now."

Julian waved his hand. He had a rough understanding of the situation, and as for whether First-class Legendaries existed here, even if they did, this guy likely wouldn't know about it.

Thinking back to the red dot on the Dowsing Machine, Julian decided to go dig it up now.

"DOS!"

Gyarados: "Monkey, I'm coming for you!"

However, a roar from the distance snapped Julian out of his thoughts.

Immediately, he sensed a violent, raging aura approaching rapidly from afar.

Julian looked at Rillaboom—it was clear the newcomer was coming for it.

Rillaboom's expression also turned furious. "It's the Gyarados from Lake Verity. That guy recently advanced to late-stage pseudo-Champion and has been coming after me because of some past grudge."

Rillaboom was a pure Grass-type, and most Grass-type Pokémon tended to have gentle temperaments. However, this one clearly wasn’t the kind that was easily intimidated.

In contrast, Gyarados likely endured being looked down on, bullied, and beaten during its Magikarp days. After evolving, Gyarados’s temper tended to become extremely explosive—like a powder keg, ready to blow at the slightest spark.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t have chosen to leave its own territory and come to the Horseshoe Plains, where its strength would naturally be somewhat diminished in a grassland environment.

Before long, Julian saw a light-blue Gyarados swiftly approaching them. Just its height alone looked to be around eight or nine meters.

"Quite well-developed," Julian remarked with a hint of appreciation.

The average height of a normal Gyarados was around 6.5 meters, and this one was clearly above average.

"What’s this? Realized you’re no match for me, so you brought backup?"

Gyarados sneered as it noticed a Metagross and a human beside Rillaboom, its tone full of mockery.

Since Metagross had suppressed its aura, Gyarados couldn’t sense how powerful it truly was. In its eyes, both Metagross and Julian couldn’t possibly be stronger than itself.

Rillaboom glanced at Metagross as if to say, "Hurry up and release your aura to scare this guy."

But Metagross remained completely still.

Of course, Rillaboom’s actions didn’t escape Gyarados’s notice, and its mockery grew even louder.

"Hahaha! Just admit defeat, shout that you’re no match for Lord Gyarados, and I’ll leave you alone from now on."

Rillaboom roared in anger, "Come on, let’s fight then! You think I’m afraid of you?"

Admitting defeat was out of the question. Even though Rillaboom didn't want to fight it, with Gyarados pushing it this far, it had no choice but to stand its ground.

After all, it was the ruler of the Horseshoe Plains. No matter how strong Gyarados was—on its turf, it had to behave.

Gyarados lightly slapped its tail against the ground as the effect of its ability Intimidate grew stronger.

Under this ability, unless one’s strength surpassed Gyarados, they would more or less be affected. Alternatively, one could resist it with sheer willpower.

But having a strong will wasn’t something you could just claim—it had to be proven.
