Chapter 1018: Chapter 1235: Female Tyranitar
Chapter 1018: Chapter 1235: Female Tyranitar
Holm of Trials—ever since Julian's Tyranitar promised that once it became a Champion it would come to find her, and Julian, as its trainer, had also said it would be within a year.
So the female Tyranitar had been counting the days as she lived.
Now, more than three hundred days had already passed since the one-year deadline Julian mentioned.
The female Tyranitar wasn't anxious about Julian's delay in appearing; instead, as the agreed deadline drew closer, she had become increasingly expectant.
She never once doubted whether Julian and his Tyranitar would keep their promise from back then.
After all, at that time, Tyranitar was only level 83. To break through and become a Champion within a single year—the gap in between was simply immense.
If you said it out in the open, no one would believe it. So it was only natural that it would take time.
"Tar!"
Deep within the Holm of Trials, the female Tyranitar was resting when a sudden roar reached her ears, jolting her awake.
"Tar!"
Another sound came, and the look in the female Tyranitar's eyes shifted from alertness to joy.
Outside, Julian was sitting atop Tyranitar's head, and the latter called out twice toward a certain spot in the desert.
"Are you sure your mate is here? Last time we didn't meet her at this spot," Julian said.
Tyranitar nodded. It had already caught the scent of its own kind.
As the sandy ground ahead shifted, a Tyranitar of normal size slowly emerged from the sand before them.
"Tyr~"
The moment the female Tyranitar spotted Julian's Tyranitar, her eyes lit up and she quickly made her way toward it.
Meanwhile, Julian's Tyranitar stood completely still.
This made Julian feel a bit of a toothache, inwardly cursing this guy for being too much of a straight man.
It had been more than half a year since he last saw his partner—and now that she was running toward him, at the very least he should open his arms and welcome her, right?
Metagross: 'Shouldn't he run over instead? That's the real problem.'
Soon, the female Tyranitar arrived in front of Julian's Tyranitar, gazing at it affectionately.
"Tyr~"
Female Tyranitar: "You came."
Julian's Tyranitar: "I came."
Then Julian's Tyranitar pulled out a bouquet and handed it to the female Tyranitar.
At this moment, Julian saw for the first time a trace of shyness on a Tyranitar—a Pokémon renowned for its ferocity and rage.
"This is for you," said Julian's Tyranitar.
"Mhm, the flowers are beautiful." The female Tyranitar was brimming with joy, her eyes looking almost misty.
"The flowers are beautiful, but not even one ten-thousandth as beautiful as you," Tyranitar said.
Gasp!
Hearing that, Julian's eyes went wide, and he stared at his own Tyranitar in utter disbelief, as if seeing it for the very first time.
Beside him, Metagross wore almost the same expression as Julian, also looking as if it had seen a ghost.
"Ghehehe~"
Suddenly, Julian faintly caught the sound of Gengar's laugh.
Then he heard his Tyranitar continue.
"I've kept you waiting. This long wait has been like the finest aged wine, brewing the blossom called love."
The female Tyranitar lowered her head and nodded shyly.
'So embarrassing'—how could he speak so beautifully? As expected of the man she had chosen. He was even a cultured one—she liked him even more.
'Damn, so there's a behind-the-scenes tutor.'
Julian now understood why his Tyranitar had suddenly become so eloquent. It was Gengar whispering in its ear, and Tyranitar was just learning on the spot and parroting it back.
As for the bouquet, Gengar must have fished it out of its belly.
It was filled with all sorts of random junk, so a bouquet of flowers in there wouldn't be anything strange.
The two Tyranitars were completely absorbed in their tender, affectionate exchange for quite a while, and Julian didn't interrupt.
He turned his gaze to the female Tyranitar. Her level was still 88—with no improvement compared to back then.
Which was only to be expected.
She had given all her treasures to his Tyranitar—if she could still improve, that would be strange. Without treasures, the only way to level up was to grind it out slowly over time.
And for a pseudo-legendary Pokémon like Tyranitar, in the late-stage Pseudo-Champion level, the time required would be at least thirty to forty years.
"Tyranitar, you better treat her well from now on."
As its trainer, Julian stepped into the role of its parent, looking at it with a serious expression.
He could be a scumbag, but his Pokémon absolutely could not.
As for leading by example—Julian had never even considered about such a thing.
"Tar~"
Tyranitar: "I swear, I will love her and only her forever in this lifetime. If I had to put a time limit on this love, I would wish for it to be ten thousand years."
Julian: 'For god's sake, are you not done yet?'
The line might have been old and overused to the point of being cheesy, but the thing was, the female Tyranitar was hearing it for the very first time.
It moved her beyond words—she was utterly overwhelmed, wishing she could have babies with Julian's Tyranitar right then and there.
"Gengar, that's about enough. What if Tyranitar gets exposed in the future?"
Julian's voice entered Gengar's mind.
And since it had this ability, why doesn't it find a mate for itself? It was still single after all.
"Gen…"
Gengar: "Oh."
There was a hint of disappointment in its tone.
Meanwhile, on the other side—
Tyranitar: "Oh."
Gengar: "You don't need to say this one."
Tyranitar: "You don't need to say this one."
The female Tyranitar looked at her partner in confusion—why were the things he was saying now something she couldn't quite understand?
Julian smacked his forehead.
While Gengar covered its mouth and stopped talking—if it kept speaking, something would really go wrong.
"Tyranitar."
Julian jumped down from Tyranitar and looked at the female Tyranitar, saying, "Since you've chosen to be with my Tyranitar, that means you're going to become my Pokémon."
The female Tyranitar nodded.
Seeing this, Julian took out a Poké Ball.
Just then, Celebi's expression suddenly shifted, and it exclaimed in alarm, "Julian, if you catch her, you'll be breaking your oath!"
'Huh?!'
Julian froze, then immediately recalled the promise he had made to Arcanine and Moltres earlier.
While they were away, he wouldn't catch any new Pokémon. Otherwise, he'd lose every single ranked match he played.
"What are you panicking for? Tyranitar isn't a new Pokémon—it's my Tyranitar's mate, and we've already met before."
"Besides, catching her isn't for battling," Julian explained.
For the female Tyranitar, Julian really didn't have any other thoughts—he was just capturing her to accompany his Tyranitar.
And for things like battling—it wouldn't be her turn anyway.
"But…"
Celebi was still somewhat worried.
"No buts. With Slowking around, how could I possibly keep losing?"
Saying this, Julian directly tossed the Poké Ball at the female Tyranitar. She offered no resistance and was caught just like that.
Seeing this, Celebi dropped the matter, and thinking about it, Julian's words seemed to make sense. With Slowking, the ultimate carry, even if they occasionally lost a match or two, they'd never experienced a true losing streak.
