Chapter 1068: Chapter 1285: Betrayal?Chapter 1069: Chapter 1286: Immune

After using the Frozen Heart, Dragonite's body was immediately frozen solid, and at the same time, its life force no longer continued to fade away, as if time itself had been frozen on its body.

Julian let out a heavy sigh of relief. If he had been even one minute late, even using Frozen Heart would have been useless.

He recalled the ice-sealed Dragonite back into its Poké Ball.

"Don't worry, you'll wake up soon."

He spoke softly to the Poké Ball, then secured it at his waist.

---

> "Wuwu, is Dragonite going to be okay?"

> "Champion Walker's eyes are all red."

> "It should be fine. If I'm not mistaken, Champion Walker just used Frozen Heart to freeze Dragonite, preserving its last bit of life force."

> "What now? Champion Walker only has Mega Metagross and Mega Aggron left!"

> "Why hasn't our reinforcements arrived yet?"

---

Dragonite's brush with death had brought many citizens of Drakoria to tears. That resolute expression for the sake of its trainer was deeply etched into the hearts of most.

Because Hydreigon had died, the black smoke it released was absorbed by a nearby Dragonite. The opponent was already at the Pseudo-First-class Legendary tier, so absorbing this black smoke didn't make it much stronger.

At this moment, the Master still had nine Pokémon left, and all nine were at the Pseudo-First-class Legendary tier. Meanwhile, Julian only had Mega Metagross and Mega Aggron on the field.

Metagross was still in good condition, but Aggron, having been continuously attacked earlier, already had injuries of varying sizes covering its body.

Two against nine, and nine Pseudo-First-class Legendaries at that. Even Julian himself had to admit that he was now at an impasse.

Dragonite's near death filled him with rage, but he had not lost his reason. If he lost his mind now, the one who would truly die would be himself.

"I... can't break... this... barrier."

Deoxys's intermittent voice suddenly came through his mind, causing Julian to pause slightly.

Because of the Godless Barrier, his connection with Deoxys had been severed, but now the other party could actually contact him.

It must be that the Godless Barrier was being continuously weakened by the aftereffects of the battle, which was why Deoxys could now reach him.

But—

He tried to open the Poké Balls containing the Twin Dragons, yet they still wouldn't open.

"Don't waste your time. As long as the Godless Barrier still exists, you can't use any First-class Legendaries—even if the barrier has been weakened."

The Master naturally saw Julian's actions and let out a cold sneer.

Julian didn't doubt the other's words either—he truly couldn't open the Poké Balls of the Twin Dragons right now.

"Deoxys, go to the Primal Secret Realm, and defeat the two remaining King-form Pokémon there. Hurry."

Julian's mental command passed through the weakened Godless Barrier and into the mind of Deoxys, who was hovering in midair.

Deoxys, who was in the midst of battling Darkrai, didn't understand why Julian would send it to do such a thing at a time like this. But out of trust in Julian, and knowing that it couldn't take down Darkrai and that dragging this out further would only waste time—

Deoxys forced Darkrai back with a single move, then vanished on the spot using Teleport.

Darkrai had thought Deoxys would follow up with an attack after using Teleport, but even after more than ten seconds, it still hadn't appeared.

Darkrai: 'Could it have left?'

An unbelievable thought surfaced in Darkrai's mind.

"Hahaha! Julian, even your own Pokémon has abandoned you. How pathetic!"

The Master naturally noticed Deoxys's disappearance and burst out laughing, looking at Julian with eyes full of mockery.

By now, Darkrai was certain that Deoxys had truly left. So with no opponent left, it simply hovered above the barrier.

With the Godless Barrier in place, it couldn't enter either.

Meanwhile, Deoxys's "desertion in the face of battle" ignited the fury of Drakoria's people.

---

> "Damn it, how could it do this?!"

> "Compared to Dragonite, Deoxys is nothing but garbage!"

> "A First-class Legendary? Hah, what a joke!"

---

The people of Drakoria were seething with rage.

And among the upper echelons of Drakoria, quite a few had also panicked. After all, Deoxys was a First-class Legendary. If even it had abandoned Julian, didn't that mean Julian was truly beyond saving?

"Sir! Deoxys suddenly appeared at the entrance of the Primal Secret Realm and has already entered!"

A staff member urgently reported.

"It didn't run away? But why go to the Primal Secret Realm? Could it be trying to hide inside?" the Third Elder asked, puzzled.

"I think it must believe there's something inside the Primal Secret Realm that can help Champion Walker, so it went in," the Fourth Elder said. He didn't believe for a moment that Deoxys would abandon its trainer.

Quite a few people turned their gaze toward the Grand Elder, to see what his thoughts were.

"How much has the barrier weakened?" James asked the staff member beside him.

"About thirty percent or so," the staff member replied.

They had been continuously monitoring the barrier's energy, so the answer came very quickly.

"Deoxys will not abandon Julian. As a trainer, Julian is absolutely the best there is. His Pokémon will never abandon him," James said with absolute certainty.

Compared to the idea of Deoxys abandoning Julian, he was far more inclined to believe the Fourth Elder's words—that it had entered the Primal Secret Realm specifically to help Julian.

It was very likely that because the Godless Barrier had weakened, Julian could now reach Deoxys and had ordered it to go to the Primal Secret Realm.

---

As a Psychic-type First-class Legendary, Deoxys had previously scanned the entire Primal Secret Realm under Julian's command, so it knew exactly where the two remaining King-form Pokémon were.

Using Teleport, it arrived at the fourth King's domain—the Moonview Arena, where the King-form Pokémon was a level 97 regional-variant Electrode.

The bewildered Electrode stared blankly at Deoxys's sudden appearance, and just as blankly, was defeated by a single move from the opponent, utterly incapable of putting up any resistance.

Even in its King form, its odds of victory against a First-class Legendary were absolute zero.

Teleporting once more, Deoxys then appeared at the fifth King's domain—the Icepeak Arena—where the King-form Pokémon was a level 96 regional-variant Avalugg.

Meanwhile, while Deoxys departed for the Primal Secret Realm, the deathmatch between Julian and the Master naturally hadn't stop just because of its departure.

Facing nine Pseudo-First-class Legendaries, Julian's expression was exceedingly solemn.

Mega Aggron was tying down three of them, while Mega Metagross held back the other six.

The ones facing Mega Aggron were Tyranitar, Goodra, and Hydreigon. The first two Pokémon had no speed advantage to speak of, and compared to Salamence, Dragonite, and Metagross, Hydreigon's speed was not particularly fast either.

Thus, these three were assigned by the Master to deal with Mega Aggron.

After all, if they were to face Mega Metagross, with its Teleport, they would gain no advantage whatsoever.

Tyranitar launched a Giga Impact, Goodra unleashed a Dragon Pulse, and Hydreigon fired a Tri Attack.

The three attacks came crashing down upon Mega Aggron like a landslide, each move cloaked on the surface with a layer of black energy.

The presence of this black energy increased the power of their moves by 100%, along with a certain corrosive effect.

It was precisely because of this that Mega Aggron found it even more difficult to defend. The pits and scars across its armor were almost entirely caused by the corrosion of the black energy.

Faced with the combined assault of the three opponents, Mega Aggron stomped the ground heavily, and a violent tremor swept outward.

It hadn't used a wide-range attack like Earthquake before because such moves didn't distinguish between friend and foe—any Pokémon on the ground would be hurt by it.

But now, only it and Metagross remained.

As for Julian, he was currently floating in midair using his psychic powers; otherwise, Mega Aggron would never have used Earthquake.

Amid the shaking earth and swaying ground, Tyranitar and Goodra lost their footing, their bodies staggering with the tremors. Yet there was no trace of pain on their faces.

Or rather, they had long since lost the ability to feel pain. Because of this, even as they took damage from the Earthquake, they still managed to execute their moves smoothly.

However, due to their unsteady stances, Goodra's Dragon Pulse lost its accuracy, while Tyranitar's Giga Impact continued barreling straight toward Mega Aggron.

Mega Aggron used Protect for the second time.

Because the effect of the Lucky Charms Julian had used was still active, this second Protect was successfully activated.

The green barrier successfully blocked Tyranitar's Giga Impact and Hydreigon's Tri Attack, while the intense shockwaves of the collision radiating outward in all directions.

Both attacks packed immense power, and though Protect held, the barrier shattered immediately afterward.

Mega Aggron loomed over the Tyranitar before it, its massive body pivoting as its thick tail came crashing down like a bolt of lightning.

Accompanied by the sound of tearing muscles and shattering bones, Tyranitar's upper body was smashed apart like tofu, its internal organs spilling across the ground.

After finishing off Tyranitar, Mega Aggron turned and unleashed an Ice Beam from its mouth at the charging Hydreigon behind it.

The extreme cold instantly froze the moisture in the surrounding air. And although Hydreigon dodged in time, its left wing was still frozen solid.

As a result, its body lost balance.

Bang! Bang!

At some point, Goodra had somehow made its way behind Mega Aggron. Two corrosive Dragon Claws tore through the air with a ripping sound, shredding open Mega Aggron's long-scarred back—exposing the flesh and blood beneath.

The intense pain forced even Mega Aggron to let out a muffled groan.

Having landed a successful strike, Goodra launched another Dragon Claw, once again aimed at Mega Aggron's back, seeking to widen the wound.

If this blow landed, it would surely injure Mega Aggron's internal organs.

"ROAR!"

Mega Aggron activated Outrage, filling its previously weakening body with immense power once more.

As the Dragon Claw came striking from behind, its tail swept horizontally toward Goodra, while at the same time its left and right claws each seized two of Hydreigon's heads from behind.

Goodra's legs were struck by Mega Aggron's Iron Tail, sending its body crashing to the ground, but its Dragon Claw still struck Mega Aggron's back—though not in the same spot as before.

The searing pain across its back ignited Mega Aggron's ferocity. Opening its fearsome jaws wide, it bit down viciously on Hydreigon's middle head.

And with a violent wrench, the head was torn clean off.

Goodra's leg bones were just broken by the sweeping Iron Tail, but that did not hinder its ability to attack.

Activating Outrage, a powerful draconic energy condensed within its mouth, and it was also coated with a layer of black energy.

BOOOM!!

The Dragon Pulse shot out and pierced straight through Mega Aggron's abdomen from behind, leaving a bloody hole a full meter in diameter, from which massive amounts of flesh and blood continuously spilled out.

Mega Aggron's aura plummeted to rock bottom in an instant.

Yet when Julian saw this, his expression barely changed—only his tightly clenched fists betrayed his inner emotions at the moment.

Just as Mega Aggron's aura was about to fade away, a bizarre scene occurred. The fatal wound on its abdomen suddenly healed in the blink of an eye, as if it had never been there at all.

Note: Used the Golden Armor, which boosts Defense by 50% and grants immunity to one lethal attack.

The Golden Armor had taken effect, nullifying this lethal blow.

But this fatal attack nullification only worked once. If it happened a second time, Aggron would truly die.

The enormous stamina drain forced Mega Aggron to revert from its Mega Evolved form.

Facing an Outrage-fueled Goodra, Aggron's aura suddenly swelled with incredible intensity, a resolute energy erupting around it.

[Reversal: An all-out attack made in desperation. The lower the user's HP, the greater the power of this move.]

BOOOOM!!!

Under Aggron's desperate, all-or-nothing strike, Goodra was instantly slain. But Aggron itself also collapsed from complete exhaustion, its injuries equally severe.

However, it was still much better off than the critically-injured Dragonite. At the very least, its life was not in danger.

Julian recalled Aggron back into its Poké Ball.

Now, only Mega Metagross remained by his side, and it had to face six Pseudo-First-class Legendaries alone.

And because Aggron had taken down three Pseudo-First-class Legendaries, the black smoke from their bodies had all been absorbed by a single Garchomp.

Its aura instantly surged by a significant margin.

Previously, the levels of these six Pseudo-First-class Legendaries were all at 100.1, but now, after absorbing three wisps of black smoke, Garchomp's level had broken through to 100.4.

It seemed like a breakthrough of mere decimal points, but the increase in combat power was enormous.
