Chapter 1111: Chapter 1328: Temporary Mission

After gaining a fairly complete understanding of the basic situation in the Land of Extreme Ice, Julian didn't stay at the Willow family any longer.

Rising to his feet, he said, "Patriarch Willow, I'll go take a look at the Land of Extreme Ice first."

Since the continuous drop in temperature was very likely being caused by the awakening of some Ice-type First-class Legendary, time was naturally of the essence.

Staying here any longer would just be wasting time—and the Willow family had already told him everything they knew.

"We'll leave it in your hands, Champion Walker."

Anthony also stood up from his seat, looking at Julian with a solemn expression.

The Land of Extreme Ice was simply too important to the Willow family.

If it was destroyed, the Willow family would likely begin to decline within a few decades, and by then, they probably wouldn't even be able to hold onto their title as the leading Ice-type lineage.

"Mm," Julian nodded.

The group quickly arrived at the entrance to the Land of Extreme Ice.

Under the watchful eyes of the three, Julian stepped through the secret realm's gate.

"The temperature really is low."

After entering the realm, Julian looked around. The area near the secret realm's entrance was already teeming with many Ice-type Pokémon.

The Willow family had managed to pacify these Pokémon for now, but this was merely a stopgap measure.

If the root of the problem wasn't resolved, a Pokémon riot was only a matter of time.

Julian was currently in the outer region of the Land of Extreme Ice, and the temperature here was already around minus thirty to nearly minus forty degrees Celsius.

Deoxys immediately used its psychic powers to shield Julian.

Otherwise, dressed so lightly, even with his Mega Pallet Town physique, Julian would be frozen stiff in such temperatures.

"Put up a Light Screen and seal the gate," Julian said to Deoxys.

He wasn't sure whether the situation could be resolved quickly.

If it couldn't, and the temperature continued to drop, the Pokémon inside the Land of Extreme Ice would inevitably attempt to leave the secret realm, triggering a stampede. And the outside world would be the one to suffer the consequences then.

So Julian decided to seal the secret realm gate in advance.

With Deoxys's power, there was absolutely no way these Pokémon could break through the Light Screen.

Of course, with the entrance sealed from the inside, people from the outside couldn't enter either.

Julian had already informed Anthony beforehand that he would temporarily seal the gate once inside, so they shouldn't be alarmed if they found themselves unable to get in.

Once he saw the Light Screen completely sealing the gate, Julian said, "Let's head to the iceberg and take a look."

Deoxys nodded, and with a Teleport, Julian found himself at the iceberg the very next second.

"It's indeed a First-class legendary."

The temperature here had already plummeted to minus eighty or ninety degrees Celsius, and a distinct First-class legendary aura was unmistakably radiating from the deepest part of the iceberg.

Deoxys also nodded. "It's very strong."

Judging by the aura alone, Deoxys realized it was no match for the other party.

It was currently level 104, no longer just a early-stage First-class Legendary. But compared to a First-class Legendary born of nature itself, its level was certainly not enough.

Naturally-born First-class Legendaries started at the late-stage right from birth.

So even after these three years of leveling-up, Deoxys's level, in the context of First-class Legendaries, still ranked at the very bottom.

"Since this guy's about to wake up. Let's give it a hand," Julian said.

He tossed out a Poké Ball, and the next second, Zekrom appeared.

Zekrom unleashed its peak First-class Legendary aura without any restraint.

Under that overwhelming presence, the iceberg that pierced the clouds began to crack continuously.

And stimulated by Zekrom's presence, the mysterious First-class Legendary hidden deep within the iceberg fully awakened.

Its eyes snapped open, and its ancient aura likewise began to surge violently.

Crack! Crack—!!

The fissures in the iceberg multiplied and widened without cease. In the blink of an eye, the entire iceberg was covered in fractures.

BOOM!!!

With a tremendous boom, the colossal iceberg that had stood at the very heart of the Land of Extreme Ice collapsed.

A blast of freezing, razor-sharp wind swept through the surroundings, and the temperature at that moment plummeted to over a hundred degrees below zero.

"ROAR!!"

A furious roar echoed from deep underground, carrying with it not only boundless freezing air but also a dense, oppressive draconic pressure.

"ROAR!!!"

In Zekrom's eyes, the roar was nothing less than a challenge, so it roared back down at the creature below.

The message was simple: 'If you've got the guts, come out instead of yelling from down there.'

As the frozen ground continued to shatter, a few seconds later, a grayish-blue figure shot out from the depths.

Seeing the Pokémon that had appeared before him, Julian's expression immediately turned excited.

"It really is Kyurem."

The moment he had thought of an Ice-type First-class Legendary, his first guess had been Kyurem.

After all, it seemed to be the only Ice-type First-class Legendary out there.

However, Ice was Kyurem's secondary typing—its primary type was still Dragon. Dragon and Ice, two types that opposed each other, coexisted within Kyurem.

The voice in his mind made Julian's eyes light up instantly.

Earlier, after seeing Pierce collect all three Regis, Julian had wondered whether he should start collecting sets himself.

And among his Pokémon, the only ones with a "set" were the Legendary Birds and the Tao Trio.

He already possessed two members of the Tao Trio—the only one missing was Kyurem.

Originally, Julian had no idea where Kyurem was.

After all, it had never revealed itself, and there weren't even any records of it on the Ancient Stone Tablets.

Yet now it had appeared on its own initiative, and right in front of him, no less.

Talk about having a pillow handed to you just as you're nodding off.

"Zekrom, you've awakened too?"

Kyurem looked at Zekrom with a hint of surprise.

As members of the Tao Trio, the three of them had been born together—naturally, they knew each other.

"I awakened a long time ago," Zekrom replied.

Not only did Zekrom's fighting spirit not decrease after recognizing an old acquaintance, it actually rose even higher.

Among First-class Legendaries, relations were often poor, with some even being born as sworn enemies.

The Black and White Dragons had been hostile in the past: each found the other an eyesore, never seeing eye to eye, and they'd start brawling the moment they met.

Much the same could be said for Kyogre and Groudon.

And Zekrom and Reshiram's relationship with Kyurem was hardly any better.

The three of them were always at each other's throats—if it wasn't one fighting the other, it was the other way around.

If not for the fact that both the Black and White Dragons now shared the same bond of allegiance to Julian, they would have started fighting long ago.

Zekrom: 'No wonder I thought this aura felt familiar—so it's Kyurem.'

After all, it had been millions of years since they had last met.

So for a moment, Zekrom had forgotten exactly whose aura it was and had only felt that it seemed very familiar.
