Chapter 885: Chapter 1102: Apology

A strong individual could establish a family, but compared to founding a new family, how to make that family last in the world was the hard part.

It was just like the emperors in the past—conquering the realm was easy, but keeping it was hard.

As long as one was strong enough, one could build their own family.

For example, a trainer from an ordinary family. With talent, hard work, and a bit of luck, might eventually become an Elite-level trainer.

They elevated their family from an ordinary family into a clan, achieving a qualitative leap. The family flourished for decades, until that trainer died.

If, by the time this strongest member passed away, another Elite-level trainer had emerged within the family, then the family could survive, provided they did not actively court disaster.

But often, when the strongest died, the family lacked other strong members. If they kept a low profile, became a vassal to another family, or gave up some of their interests, they might continue to exist.

However, the problem was that families were usually unwilling to relinquish their interests and resources. After all, with fewer resources, it became even harder to produce strong members.

Becoming a vassal to another family also depended on the ruling family's nature. If it was the kind that only knew how to bleed its vassals dry, then your family was just a blood bag.

Once drained, it would be casually discarded.

So both options came with certain risks.

The best solution, naturally, was for the family to always have a strong member serving as its pillar.

Now Julian had just told James that he could live over five hundred years. That was like rocket fuel for the Walker family's rise.

Julian was already invincible now. If he lived to be over five hundred... James couldn't even imagine how glorious the Walker family would be by then.

Think about other major families. Their strongest guardians were usually the Pokémon of their deceased trainers.

But in the future, the Walker family's guardian would be Julian himself, invincible in the world. Just thinking about it made James feel sorry for the other families.

"Grand-uncle, if there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

Julian felt his grand-uncle was getting a bit delirious. He needed to leave quickly. James was actually suggesting he build a harem and plant the Walker family's flag all over the world.

Julian considered himself ambitious, but his ambition was not about expanding the family or making the Walker family the world's overlord.

It was about reaching the pinnacle of strength alongside his Pokémon.

As for marriage and having children to continue the Walker family line, he would let that take its natural course. After all, he could live for a very long time, and in this world, unless Arceus himself showed up, he was basically invincible and could not be killed.

"Go on, go on."

James seemed to realize his expression had been a bit too excited just now, so he waved Julian off.

Although he was the Grand Elder of Drakoria, he was also a member of the Walker family, and John's older brother. So according to the household register, he was still the head of the household.

While the Walker family was very strong, with almost every generation's head being at least a Pseudo-Champion at their peak, they simply didn't have enough people. They could not withstand a major blow.

As the eldest member of the Walker family, he naturally had to think about expanding it. At the very least, they needed more male offspring; they could not continue as they were.

He was very assured of Julian's character and even felt proud of it, since the young man didn't have the arrogance typical of children from powerful families.

But now James was starting to think that having too good a character was not necessarily a good thing, at least as far as Julian's apparent lack of interest in women went.

Back in university, there had been the beautiful Nicole, and later the attractive and sexy secretary Ella. Yet both young women were still, well, young women.

"No, no, this won't do. I need to have John and Jake talk to him. Sure, that brat can live five hundred years, but I can't."

"I don't want to die with this brat still unmarried and without children."

James muttered to himself.

He didn't need to worry about that point, though, since Julian had given him Ambrosia, which extended his lifespan by two hundred years.

James was only in his eighties; he still had a long way to go.

Just as James was pondering this, his secretary walked in.

"Grand Elder, the Birmanian government is demanding an explanation from us," the secretary said.

Ever since Julian's actions, the Birmanian government had been clamoring for Drakoria to compensate them and provide an explanation.

"An explanation my foot! They stole from us, and they want an explanation from me?"

"Tell them if they keep yapping, I'll let John go for a stroll over there," James said viciously.

The secretary was speechless.

Let John go for a stroll? The man was a respected Champion, not some kind of weapon.

The secretary was about to nod and head out when another secretary rushed in urgently.

"Grand Elder! Old Champion Walker went to the Birmanian border, and under the pretext that his wallet was stolen by them, he destroyed a military camp on their side."

Hearing that, James clutched his forehead. He had only said it casually—how had John already gone and done it?

Then again, thinking about it, given John's protective nature, of course he would want to vent some anger for his grandson.

A single camp would have at least several thousand Birmanian soldiers.

Of course, compared to the over thirty thousand Julian had killed, it was still much less.

"Both of them, they only know how to cause trouble for me. Damn it, the grandfather was a killing machine, and the grandson is a killing machine too," James said irritably.

Even before becoming a Champion, John had already been quite famous in various countries because he excelled at using violence to deal with countries that targeted Drakoria.

After becoming a Champion, he did restrain himself a bit, mainly because there was no opportunity to demonstrate.

Later Julian took over the blade from John—if he didn't act then fine, but once he acted he wiped out one of Birmania's military bases.

"Tell the Birmanian government to apologize to us, or else we go to war."

Since things had already reached this point, an apology was out of the question.

Drakoria: 'We're already the world's number one power and you want us to apologize? Bullshit—let's just fight.'

"Yes!"

Both the secretaries nodded excitedly and immediately walked out.

About an hour later, the Birmanian government expressed its apologies to Drakoria before the entire world, stating that the video of the Twin Dragons had been fabricated by domestic reactionary elements.

It had been deliberately intended to sow discord between Birmania and Drakoria.

No such incident had ever happened.

As for the destruction at Birmania's border by John, that had also been a misunderstanding. There had been no so-called military camp at that location—it had all been fake, another scheme by those domestic reactionary forces.

Celestria: 'No backbone, huh?'

Anglia: 'Why not fight?'

Volkaria: 'Drakoria wouldn't even need to act, we alone can wipe them out.'

Wyvernia: 'Just leave them to us.'
