Chapter 918: Five Minutes Remaining

Chapter 918: Five Minutes Remaining

Yveltal had appeared centuries ago, yet its nemesis, Xerneas, had remained undiscovered to this day. It was probably still asleep inside some undiscovered Ruin or Top-tier Secret Realm.

One was the God of Death, the other the God of Life—they were even more incompatible than Kyogre and Groudon.

"Hahaha, Julian, Yveltal is invincible! As long as death exists, it cannot die. Even if everyone in Babath perishes, we can simply move elsewhere. I think Drakoria would be an excellent choice—its population is far larger than Babath’s!"

Lyle spread his arms wide, gazing with fervent admiration at Yveltal in the sky—this was the deity worshipped by their organization.

Fighting two against one, yet the opponent had no means to counter it.

"You really want to die, huh?!"

Julian’s face was cold with fury. He wouldn’t bat an eye if everyone in Babath died, but if they dared to target Drakoria, he would make sure to end them.

But Lyle’s words were indeed worth pondering.

As long as death existed, Yveltal’s power would never wane. If Babath’s population was wiped out, they could simply relocate—a feasible strategy. Moreover, Drakoria was very close to Babath. At Yveltal’s speed, it could reach Drakoria from Babath in under a minute.

"So what? Yveltal, Dark Pulse!" Lyle ordered with a flourish.

After the earlier reinforcement from death energy, Yveltal’s strength had gradually surpassed that of the Black and White Dragons. However, with the two dragons combined and Julian’s BUFF, they could still hold their own against Yveltal.

"Reshiram, Flamethrower!"

Julian’s BUFF was currently active on Reshiram.

Facing Yveltal’s Dark Pulse,Flamethrower instantly met it head-on.

Seizing the opportunity, Zekrom closed in on Yveltal, its right fist clenched, lightning crackling around it, with electric arcs coiling over its knuckles.

BOOM!!!

Thunder Punch struck Yveltal’s body. The layers of death energy wrapped around its form, looking like mist yet impossibly dense, constantly consuming the power of the Thunder Punch.

Fortunately, just as the lightning was halfway consumed, the punch finally broke through the death energy barrier—a massive surge of electricity, carrying immense force, slammed into Yveltal’s back.

This caused the latter’s Dark Pulse to falter abruptly.

Because of that momentary pause, the Flamethrower that had been suppressed by Dark Pulse instantly broke through it. In the next instant, scorching flames enveloped Yveltal.

However, vast amounts of death energy quickly surged in from all directions once again.

In the blink of an eye, the flames covering its body were extinguished. Simultaneously, Yveltal's long tail swung with immense force, accompanied by a deafening sound.

BOOOM!!!

The tail struck Zekrom, sending its body flying like a streak of light before it crashed heavily into the ground. The impact sent it skidding backward, shattering countless remnants of buildings along the way.

That one strike sent it flying more than a hundred kilometers away, a testament to the sheer power of Yveltal's Iron Tail. Unfortunately, the collision also claimed the lives of many innocent people and Pokémon in its path.

Watching the black mist being absorbed by Yveltal, Julian's face darkened.

'Damn it! You attack my Pokémon and then make them work for you by generating more death energy?'

As the black mist was absorbed, Yveltal's injuries healed completely once again.

---

> "WTF! It’s literally unkillable!"

> "What do we do? I thought with two against one, Champion Walker was guaranteed to win. How did it come to this?"

> "The Black and White Dragons are steadily weakening, while Yveltal can heal and even strengthen itself by absorbing death energy."

> "They’re all First-class Legendaries, so why does Yveltal have such a broken ability?"

> "Champion Walker, please hold on! Yveltal must not reach Drakoria! I’m willing to trade 20 years of singlehood for Champion Walker to beat the crap out of Yveltal!"

> "I’ll trade 30 years!"

> "Make it 50 years for me!"

> "My husband is invincible! Everyone, stay calm!"

---

It wasn’t just the people of Drakoria who were panicking—neighboring countries of Babath were equally terrified.

From a satellite perspective, one-third of Babath had already been reduced to ruins.

Cities, mountains, rivers—all were gone, leaving only desolation in their wake. The remaining two-thirds of the land had also suffered varying degrees of damage from the shockwaves.

If the battle continued, it was only a matter of time before the remaining two-third was destroyed as well.

Looking at the satellite footage, everyone fell into silence.

Although it wasn’t their own country, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of shared sorrow. If Julian failed to defeat Yveltal, and Babath fell today, which nation would be next?

The people of Babath, hiding underground, had already lost hope.

If possible, they even wished Julian would just take the Black and White Dragons and leave.

If it were just Yveltal on its own, it might not have completely devastated Babath. It might have taken a few shots and then moved on to another country, spreading the "love" around equally.

But because Julian was here with the Black and White Dragons, Yveltal couldn't leave Babath even if it wanted to. Moreover, the destructive power of three First-class Legendaries far exceeded that of Yveltal alone.

"Yveltal, leave this area! Head over there!"

Lyle had already noticed that most living beings in this area were dead, and the surrounding death energy had significantly diminished. So, he planned to move the battlefield to the remaining two-thirds of the land that was still relatively intact, where a large number of humans and Pokémon were hiding.

As long as they were all killed, the massive amount of death energy would greatly enhance Yveltal's power. By then, the Black and White Dragons would be no match for it, and it might even be possible to kill one of them.

The thought made Lyle even more excited. If they could really kill one of them, the power generated from its death and absorbed by Yveltal would elevate Yveltal's strength to an unimaginable level.

At that point, the Y Organization might truly rule the world.

"Zekrom, Reshiram, stop it!" Julian roared.

It had taken so many deaths for this area to be clear of living beings, cutting off Yveltal's source of death energy. Julian finally seeing a chance of victory wasn't about to let it leave so easily.

Zekrom had already returned from being flung away. With its Overdrive Mode active, it moved at extreme speed, and in the blink of an eye, it joined Reshiram in blocking Yveltal's path.

The battle once again erupted.

Flame and lightning raged across the region, mixed with Yveltal’s death energy.

Only five minutes remaining.

The Unown's Protection had only five minutes left. Compared to Yveltal, which was still in relatively good condition, the twin dragons were not in their peak states, both injured. Moreover, once the death energy clung to them, it required even more energy to dispel.
