Chapter 919: Chapter 1136: Panicked

For hundreds of years before Pokémon appeared, Anglia had always been ruled entirely by its royal family.

However, with the arrival of Pokémon, a series of missteps by the royal family nearly caused the nation to collapse.

As a result, the people of Anglia united and effectively sidelined the royal family. However, the country still needed governance, so the parliamentary system was born.

Many countries also adopted similar systems.

The establishment of the parliamentary system stripped the Anglian royal family of their absolute control over the country.

Nevertheless, as the traditional rulers, the royal family still retained some influence. Even under the parliamentary system, one of the nine parliamentary seats was reserved for a member of the Anglian royal family.

This was also the main reason the royal family had agreed to the parliamentary system in the first place.

"Is it really a good idea to directly reject Drakoria's request like this?"

Inside a conference room, the nine council members were discussing the matter of Julian's request to enter their country's Advanced Secret Realm No. 18.

Drakoria had not specified why Julian wanted to enter this secret realm, but they had clarified that he would not take any treasures or Pokémon from it.

Anglia found this hard to believe, suspecting that either Drakoria was treating them as fools or Julian had some undisclosed ulterior motive.

For a trainer to enter a secret realm, there were typically three purposes:

The first was to search for treasures.

The second was to train their Pokémon.

And the third was to find and capture a desired Pokémon.

Julian was traveling all the way from Drakoria to enter their country's secret realm, and he had chosen an Advanced-level secret realm rather than a Top-tier or Primal one.

If he wasn't seeking treasures and wasn't planning to capture Pokémon, and given that the difficulty of this secret realm wouldn't even serve as proper training ground for his Pokémon, then something was clearly off.

If Drakoria couldn't be transparent about their intentions, how could they allow him entry?

What if he was planning something behind their backs?

"It's not a rejection. We just want Drakoria to tell us why Julian wants to enter this secret realm. The Advanced Secret Realm No. 18 has no special features apart from housing relatively rare Pokémon like Pawniard and Bisharp," one of the council members said, clearly puzzled.

Their Advanced Secret Realm No. 18 was one of the most ordinary ones. Apart from containing rare Pokémon such as Pawniard and Bisharp, it really had nothing particularly remarkable about it.

"Perhaps Julian wants to catch a Pawniard or Bisharp."

"Doesn't he already have a Bisharp?"

Julian's Bisharp had previously achieved a hundred consecutive victories at Lake University, and it had done so by battling one hundred pseudo-Elite trainers in a row.

Not only did it achieve this winning streak, but it also sustained minimal injuries—the worst being severe exhaustion.

At the time, many believed that Bisharp had limitless potential and that it would become another one of Julian's ace Pokémon.

After all, Bisharp's performance was indeed outstanding.

A hundred consecutive wins—even Metagross didn't have such a record.

Metagross: 'I just never had the opportunity to shine.'

"That's true."

One of the council members nodded. But they really couldn't think of any reason Julian would want to enter their Advanced Secret Realm No. 18.

He must be after something inside. Otherwise, why else would he travel all the way here—just for a vacation?

Although they had already rejected Julian's request, they had left some room for negotiation—on the condition that Drakoria offered them some benefits in return.

After all, Anglia was a powerful nation, not like Babath, which had basically become Drakoria's backyard, nor as spineless as Maplia.

They were a country with pride.

BANG!

The conference room door was suddenly pushed open violently.

"Bad news! Julian has left Drakoria riding the Black Dragon, and he's heading straight in our direction!"

"What?!"

Upon hearing the report, most of the council members' expressions changed instantly.

"Contact Drakoria immediately!" one of them urgently shouted.

A nation's Champion was absolutely not allowed to leave their country without authorization, much less enter another nation.

If something went wrong, it could trigger a major diplomatic incident.

"We need an explanation from the Grand Elder of Drakoria!"

The call was quickly connected and routed directly to James.

"What explanation?" James asked, sounding confused.

"Julian is flying toward our country on Zekrom! Are you telling me you didn't know?!"

Faced with James's obvious feigned ignorance, the council member on the other end snapped.

"What? Julian left on his own?"

"He didn't even tell me."

"That kid, honestly. I already told him that Anglia would consider letting him enter the secret realm and that he shouldn't rush."

"He even agreed with me just now, and yet he turned around and headed straight for your country."

Hearing James's casual, almost nonchalant tone, the council member hurriedly urged: "You need to call Julian back immediately! Otherwise this could escalate into a serious diplomatic incident!"

"Your nation will face severe condemnation!"

In response to the council member's threat, James said calmly, "Condemn us if you must. But you might want to worry about yourselves first."

"That brat of mine doesn't have the best temper. If you keep refusing to give him face, he might just have the Black Dragon or White Dragon fly a few laps over your country. The commotion that would cause might be a lot bigger."

"As for asking me to call him back—do you really think he'd listen to me?"

"Oh, and Zekrom doesn't have the best temper either. Julian usually rides Reshiram, but today he's riding Zekrom—well, you should be able to guess the reason yourselves."

With that, James hung up the phone.

"Serves you right."

After hanging up, he cursed under his breath with a hint of satisfaction.

Earlier, when they were polite and diplomatic, Anglia refused to cooperate. And now that Julian was heading straight for them, they start to panic?

In fact, Julian's actions were completely within James's expectations.

On the surface, the Walker family members all appeared gentle and approachable. Julian was the same—he treated people with courtesy and showed none of the arrogance expected from a wealthy young master or a Champion.

But deep down, they were all proud and unyielding.

Anglia's outright refusal was essentially a slap to Julian's face.

If this had happened back when Julian was just a Champion, James would definitely have stopped him. And Julian himself wouldn't have done something like directly heading to another country.

But now things were different.

Julian possessed the Black and White Dragons, and recently he had even captured Deoxys. That meant he now had three First-class Legendaries at his command.

With that kind of power, even facing other First-class Legendaries, victory was all but guaranteed.

Since he was already practically invincible, why should he tolerate Anglia's attitude?

Did Anglia still not understand who was truly in charge now?

"What should we do?"

Several council members began to panic.

Julian wasn't playing by the rules at all, catching them completely off guard.

Only now did they realize a fundamental truth:

Once strength reached a certain level, the so-called rules and international consensus became nothing more than meaningless jokes.

Rules were merely tools to restrain the weak.

There was no rule in this world that could bind a trainer who commanded three First-class Legendaries.
