Chapter 941: Three Generations
Chapter 941: Three Generations
The entire exhibition match lasted half an hour. The two Metagross fought back and forth, their moves clashing in a seemingly intense spectacle, but in truth it was full of theatrics, with visual effects turned up to the max.
It had the audience roaring with excitement.
And since it was a father-son match, the number of live-stream viewers even broke one billion.
Because this world had merged with the Pokémon world, the planet’s size had increased significantly, and naturally, the population had grown as well.
Just Drakoria alone had nearly three billion people. Its land area ranked second in the world, with Volkaria being first and Celestria being third.
However, if you now added the two countries under Drakoria's de facto control—Wyvernia and Babath—then Drakoria's territory would indeed surpass Volkaria by a bit.
The difference wasn't huge to begin with.
As the two Metagross’ Meteor Mash collided, seven-colored light illuminated the entire arena, dyeing even the night sky in rainbow hues.
Immediately after, countless fireworks rose into the air.
The exhibition match officially ended.
John, Jake, and Julian—three generations of the Walker family, three Champions—stood together with the silver Metagross behind them, all wearing violet-gold Champion capes.
John's ruggedness, Jake's nonchalance, and Julian's youthful vigor—three generations embodying three distinct temperaments, yet they collectively captivated the hearts of Drakorian female population across all age groups.
---
> "Ahhhh, I can't take it, I can't take it anymore!"
> "Sisters, I want all three of these men!"
> "Old Champion Walker is truly a grandma-killer!"
> "Champion Jake is a mom-killer. He's completely mastered the charm of a middle-aged man."
> "The two are certainly handsome, but my Champion Walker is the one who truly outshines all!"
> "I can’t, I need to wear a wedding dress for these three men!"
---
At this moment, the atmosphere in the stadium had reached its peak. The audience's palms were red from clapping as deafening cheers filled the arena.
Many spectators here were locals of Lake City.
And the Walker family had been rooted in Lake City for centuries.
During those difficult times, the Walker ancestors risked their lives on battlefields, shedding blood to defend both the nation and Lake City. From a large clan of several hundred, they had once declined into obscurity.
When they rose again, the Walker family was down to just a handful of members, and that number had persisted until today.
If, at any point, a generation's male heir had died without leaving offspring, the Walker family would likely have vanished long ago.
The Walker family and Lake City had long since become one.
The Walker family’s traditions were also extremely upright; things like oppression and exploitation of the common people had never occurred.
So in Lake City, the Walker family was a clan deeply loved by the locals.
All the local families in Lake City looked to the Walkers for leadership.
"Here, I would like to once again congratulate Champion Jake. I must also advise any nation with designs on Drakoria to carefully weigh the disparity with our country before taking any action."
"After all, our nation now possesses eight Champions."
The host wore an expression that seemed to say, 'None of you are even a challenge.'
The representatives sent by other nations to offer congratulations sighed inwardly.
Even Celestria had to tuck its tail and behave carefully in front of Drakoria now.
As for other countries, especially those who had previously been at odds with Drakoria, they now lacked even the courage to speak loudly.
With Jake's inauguration ceremony concluded, the audience naturally began to disperse.
"John, where are you going?"
John was about to leave when James stopped him.
"Going home, of course."
John answered as if it were the most natural thing.
"The representatives from various nations are still waiting in the conference room."
"I know. Let Jake handle it. He's a Champion now too. He can share the workload."
Jake, standing nearby, immediately protested upon hearing this. "Dad! I still have to go fishing! Kyogre is waiting for me to hook it! Besides, I made plans for night fishing tonight."
Jake was truly dedicated. No sooner had his Champion inauguration ended than he was off to fish at night. If he hadn't been unable to avoid the ceremony, he'd have definitely gone fishing earlier.
What kind of feeling was it to have a son who was a fishing fanatic?
"Dad, I'll go with you too."
Julian, standing to the side, became interested. His last fishing trip with his dad had sparked quite an interest in fishing. The feeling when a fish bites was really thrilling, and reeling it in gave a great sense of accomplishment.
"Alright."
Jake nodded.
He sneered inwardly. 'You were just in the 'beginner's luck' phase last time. Now that the luck has worn off, let's see how many fish you can catch. Forget Squirtle, you probably won't even hook some Magikarp.'
Thwack!
As soon as Jake finished speaking, John smacked the back of his head.
"Dad! What the heck?"
Jake was bewildered. 'Why hit me?'
"Taking my dear grandson fishing? Are you trying to lead him astray?"
John glared furiously at his unfilial son. Damn it, being a fishing fanatic himself was bad enough, but now he wanted to turn his precious grandson into one too?
"No, it was him—"
Jake tried to explain, but before he could finish, the back of his head was smacked again. This time, it was James.
"Uncle, why did you hit me?"
"If you dare take Julian fishing again, I'll break all your fishing rods!"
James also glared angrily at Jake.
Julian already had plenty of bad habits—like being gluttonous and lazy, disinterested in women, and disrespectful to his elders. With so many flaws already, if he developed a passion for fishing and became a fishing fanatic too, that would really be the end.
Jake felt utterly aggrieved, especially seeing Julian, that unfilial brat, grinning from ear to ear. His temper flared instantly.
He raised a hand, intending to smack Julian on the back of the head.
But as soon as his hand moved, John's voice rang in his ears.
"Do you not want that hand anymore?"
'How utterly brazen! Daring to hit my dear grandson right in front of me? Do I not exist?'
"Oww!"
Over on his side, Julian suddenly clutched the back of his head with a pained expression.
"You brat, stop faking it! I haven't even hit you yet!"
Jake panicked. This kid probably wanted to get him killed.
"Grandpa, Dad's palm wind struck me!"
'Palm wind?'
What nonsense was this kid spouting? Did he really think his old man was some martial arts master?
"Dad, what this unfilial brat says is obviously fake!"
Right after speaking, he was smacked again by John.
"Dad, you actually believe this kind of nonsense?"
Jake looked at John in disbelief. Even a three-year-old wouldn't believe that, yet John did?
"I didn’t believe it. I just wanted to hit you."
John said calmly.
Jake: ⊙0⊙
'Fine, hit me then. Who told me to be your son? You won't always be around. When that time comes, I'll hit my son and use the same line.'
Watching his unfilial son snickering beside him, Jake sneered inwardly. Laugh while you can. Once your grandpa leaves, you won't have the chance.
Julian: 'Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling…'
