Chapter 967: Chapter 1184: Wallet

Julian had initially thought that Gemma and Ella wouldn't talk for long. After all, they didn't know each other, and Gemma had even called her "auntie"—it was already impressive that she hadn't hung up on the spot.

But a full half hour passed before Gemma finally came out of the battle arena.

"Coach, your phone."

Gemma handed the phone back to Julian.

"What did you two talk about for so long?"

Julian was genuinely curious. Half an hour—he had almost lost his patience waiting.

"Sis and I just talked about some girl stuff. Coach, you don't need to worry about it," Gemma said, shooting him an annoyed glance.

'Sis?'

She had just called her "auntie," and now it was "sis"? That change was way too fast.

Women truly were mysterious creatures.

Julian's astonished expression left Gemma a bit speechless.

Of course, she wasn't going to tell him what they talked about—that was a secret between her and Ella.

"Julian, we're back!"

Just then, Celebi and Jirachi, who had gone out to play, came flying back.

"Julian, I brought you some milk tea."

Celebi handed him a cup.

"Huh? You actually brought me milk tea? Are you trying to ask me for something?"

Julian took it but looked at Celebi with suspicion. When this one did something nice for no reason, there was always a catch.

"No! I just wanted to get it for you!"

Celebi immediately got a little upset.

"Really?"

Julian was still skeptical. Celebi's track record was just too sketchy.

"Julian, here's some ice cream too."

Not to be outdone after seeing Celebi bring milk tea, Jirachi quickly handed over an ice cream cone.

Julian took it, examined it carefully, and only started eating after confirming it hadn't been licked.

One sip of hot milk tea, one bite of ice cream.

With this kind of combo, someone with a weak stomach would probably have serious consequences.

"You two are acting strange today."

Julian still felt uneasy. It felt like these two little ones were about to spring something on him.

He had even checked the brands—both the milk tea and ice cream were from relatively expensive shops. Each cost quite a bit.

And these two only got a daily allowance of 100 each.

Spending most of their money just to buy him snacks?

If there wasn't something fishy going on, Julian swore he'd be brothers with Arcanine from now on.

"You two didn't cause trouble again, did you?" Julian asked.

Celebi and Jirachi nodded in unison.

So it really was the case.

"What did you do this time? Accidentally smash a mall window, steal snacks from kids, or sneak into a movie without paying?"

Julian listed their past offenses fluently. When it came to the trouble these two had caused over the years, he could go on and on.

The two little ones shook their heads again.

Looks like this was a brand-new kind of trouble.

Julian became curious about what new mess they had made.

"Well… Jirachi and I wanted to upload a new short video today, so we were filming your figurine collection…"

Hearing that, Julian suddenly felt a sense of dread.

His gaze toward the two little ones was already turning dangerous.

"…and then we accidentally knocked your limited-edition Salamence figurine off the shelf and broke it."

Celebi blurted it out in one breath, then immediately ran off with Jirachi.

"Julian, we're sorry! We didn't mean to!"

Jirachi shouted an apology while fleeing.

His limited-edition Salamence figurine… broken?

Julian clutched his chest.

What did "limited edition" mean? It meant there were only a few, and they would never be produced again.

And this particular Salamence figurine wasn't something he had bought at a high price from another collector—he had actually managed to snag it with his own luck.

This was one of those rare moments when he had been blessed by the RNG gods.

That was why Julian treasured it so much—and both Celebi and Jirachi knew that perfectly well.

And now… it was broken.

No wonder they had spent "big money" to buy him snacks.

"Coach, what's wrong?"

Gemma looked at Julian, who was now radiating a heavy, oppressive aura. She felt a bit scared but also curious about what the two little ones had said to make him this angry.

"Zekrom, Reshiram—bring them back."

Seeing that Celebi and Jirachi had already run off, Julian let out a cold laugh.

'Run? Let's see how far you can get.'

A few seconds later, Zekrom held Celebi, while Reshiram held Jirachi, bringing them back in front of Julian.

For him to send out both the Dragons to catch them—it was clear Julian was truly furious this time.

"Dad, we were wrong!" x2

Realizing they couldn't escape, the two little ones immediately admitted fault and surrendered. If they weren't being held up, they would have already dropped to their knees.

But this time, apologies didn't work. Julian directly started smacking their little butts—otherwise he wouldn't be able to vent his frustration.

In the middle of it all, a certain troublemaking dog even went and told Salamence about the incident.

When Salamence heard that its very own figurine had been smashed by the two little gluttons, it immediately flew over in anger.

Then it joined in, whipping their backsides with its tail.

After all, one was a First-Class Legendary and the other was a Pseudo–Champion—there was no need to worry about hurting them.

"This month's allowance is canceled."

Only after venting for a while did Julian finally calm down and let them go.

"Oh…" x2

The two didn't dare say anything more. Their backsides were still stinging—and now was definitely not the time to bargain.

"Julian, who's this woman?"

Celebi pointed at Gemma. It had noticed her earlier but had been too caught up in the situation to ask.

"An NPC," Julian said.

"Coach, how am I an NPC? At the very least, I should count as your student," Gemma said indignantly.

Since he was going to train her, being considered half a student wasn't too much, right?

"Hello Celebi and Jirachi, I'm Gemma, the coach's student," she introduced herself.

Then she pulled out her phone and immediately asked for a photo together.

She also told the two little ones that she was their fan and even showed them her social media account. Sure, she followed over a hundred accounts, but yes, Celebi and Jirachi—and of course Julian—were among them.

Looking at Gemma's enthusiastic demeanor, Celebi suddenly shot Jirachi a meaningful glance.

Celebi: 'What does she look like to you?'

Jirachi: 'What?'

Celebi: 'Doesn't she look like our allowance for this month?'

Jirachi: 'Won't Julian get mad if he finds out?'

Celebi: 'When does he not get mad? Do you want to go a whole month without any money?'

Jirachi: 'No.'

Celebi: 'Then keep an eye on this "wallet."'

With just a few exchanged glances, the two instantly understood each other.

Honestly, this was even more impressive than telepathy.

Gemma wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she suddenly noticed that Celebi and Jirachi had become a lot more enthusiastic toward her.

Julian: 'What are these two up to now...'
