Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1172: Bloodlust

Chapter 1172: Bloodlust

The side effect of having his first Blood Cleansing had manifested, and if it had not been for Vexthra being a goddess, Kent would have been consumed by rage so intense that by the time he recovered, he would have caused so much damage.

Thankfully, it happened in a space that required no external interference.

Inside the tower, Vexthra could use her abilities without the heavenly laws doing anything to her. Of course, she had to be mindful of how much of her power she used, or she risked destroying the tower.

After she made sure Kent was safe, she came back to confront Uncle Drew.

"No need to frown, goddess. I merely told the young master about the state of some of his friends in the immortal world."

"What about them?" Vexthra was clearly angry, but she also knew it wasn’t Uncle Drew’s fault.

"One of his friends has been imprisoned by his family in a prison where he is tortured every passing second. I managed to save one of them, but the other one has a demigod guarding him.

He was above my pay grade."

Vexthra’s gaze turned cold.

Naturally, that scared Uncle Drew, but he knew he wasn’t in danger...maybe.

"I didn’t tell you because we both know you would have wanted to go save him."

"You’re damn right I would have. Kent cherishes the people close to him, so he most certainly would be affected hearing one of them is in danger."

"I know, goddess, but we both know if you use your powers in an immortal world, there will be a price to pay. That is something the young master cannot allow to happen."

"I don’t care," Vexthra gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes at Uncle Drew. "Tell me the planet he is on."

Uncle Drew smiled and responded,

"I am sorry, goddess, but I cannot tell you that."

"What do you mean you cannot tell me that? I planned on saving this person, so tell me the location."

Uncle Drew knew Vexthra was acting out of her unstable emotions. Seeing Kent hurt pained her heart, so she wanted to help him in any way she could.

However, doing so would put her life in danger.

Naturally, Kent would also be affected by that when he woke up. So he could not allow her to willingly walk into something that guaranteed she would have to pay dearly for it.

"The young master would not want you to get hurt, so I cannot tell you where this person is. But I can say this: dying is the last thing we have to worry about.

That man in prison has no plans to give up. He looks like someone holding on for as long as he could. He will not die.

I have also put measures in place to look for a way to pass a message to him. So relax for now and wait for the young master to wake up."

Vexthra wanted to reject Uncle Drew’s suggestion, perhaps knock him out, and look through his memories, but Unity appeared beside her and stopped her.

"Uncle Drew is right, big sister. Kent will be hurt and even more angry if something happens to you. So let’s wait for him to wake up."

Vexthra sighed and then nodded.

She looked at the state of the mountain garden and sighed again. Thankfully, Gaia and her sisters were working on a plan to rebuild it, making it even more elegant this time around.

After a few seconds, she and Unity returned to the harem tower.

Kent was still out, but he was out of harm’s way.

They started caring for him.

It would be a while before he woke up, so they would stay by his side until then. Then they would decide what to do next.

---

[3 months later]

Kent opened his eyes, only for a wave of darkness to explode out of his body. The darkness stretched for a few meters, then moved back and entered his body.

He closed his eyes again as subtle shadows and true darkness started to move out of his body like a mist...

"True Darkness... Since when did Kent become an assassin with a True Darkness?" Vari said, observing the shadowy mist around Kent.

"It is indeed True Darkness, and an even more potent one too," Lani affirmed what Vari said. This only left them puzzled about what they were seeing.

Suddenly, a symbol appeared on his forehead for a few seconds before vanishing. However, when Lady Liora saw this shadow, her expression changed.

She seemed to have recognized it, but her mind didn’t seem to grasp where she had seen it before. She thought long and hard about it, but even after five minutes, nothing seemed to click.

"It seems he has awakened new abilities, and they are those of an assassin."

"Indeed. Judging from his aura, he has already reached five stars. That makes him a Shadow Saint."

In the realm of assassins, the strength and mastery of an assassin are calculated using stars. Star one is called Shadow Novice, Shadow Adept, Shadow Master, and so on.

It is just like with swordsmanship, only that instead of saying Sword King, assassins say Shadow King.

Kent had, in a way, become a Shadow Saint, just two realms below his mastery as a swordsman. Both Lani, Vari, and Lady Liora were Shadow Emperors.

That showed just how much they understood the art of assassination. Now, they seemed to have recognized Kent’s nature as an assassin, and that alone made them happy.

"I know the mark that appeared on Kent’s forehead."

Lady Liora suddenly said, walking toward Kent. She had thought hard about the symbol, and now it seemed she had remembered something.

"What is it?" Looking at the expression on her face, the ladies seemed to sense something significant was afoot.

"I don’t know if you ladies are aware, but before I became an alchemist, I was an assassin, codename Scarlet Angel. I don’t like to blow my own horn, but I was a very good assassin."

Lady Liora smiled. "Actually, my true rank is Shadow Divine."

Vari and Lani looked at Lady Liora with calm gazes. "I suspected that. But what does that have to do with anything?"

"You see, back when I went around using my skill set to help the poor and innocent, a group of assassins that claimed they had their roots buried deep within many worlds, even Celestial worlds, wanted to recruit me.

Initially, I wanted to reject them, but when I witnessed what they could do, I joined them and worked for many years before taking a leave to create my second persona.

This group claimed their founding father was a very dangerous assassin known only by his codename, the Faceless Assassin.

Legend has it that nobody had ever seen his face before, nor do they even know if he is a he or a she. They claim he can take the appearance of anyone he kills and live their life better than they ever did.

I didn’t believe them, of course. However, every member of this assassin group trusted and believed in the Faceless Assassin.

Eventually, I also started to walk their ways."

"Nice story, Liora, but how does that solve the mark that appeared on Kent’s forehead?" Enzi asked, wanting to get to the point.

Liora smiled and gazed at Kent before responding. "Among the midnight shadows, there are those blessed by the Faceless Assassin. These people can change their faces with a mere flick of their hands.

They are called Faceless Agents, and every last one of them has the symbol of a broken dagger on their forehead."

"So are you saying Kent is a Faceless Agent?"
