Chapter 1201: Meeting Bilad and Avotha
Chapter 1201: Meeting Bilad and Avotha
"Welcome to Nex Morbus," an Immortal Lord said, welcoming Uncle Drew into the city.
This time around, they did not try to challenge him to another duel. This shows they had learned their lessons.
What he had shown them was enough to send a deafening message to everyone. None would want to rechallenge him, not when they had just witnessed a complete display of combat power and experience.
Uncle Drew had, from start to finish, displayed his combat prowess as someone who can bridge the gap regardless of cultivation differences.
The gap between him and the immortals he had defeated was very vast — extremely vast.
They are immortals with control over immortal Qi/energy. Naturally, they are far superior to Uncle Drew, who is a mere mortal. However, in combat, sometimes cultivation level is not everything.
Sometimes, it is one’s experience as a warrior that matters.
Kael Duskbane was known as the greatest warrior ever to live, not because he was the strongest or the best swordsman, but because of his experience and understanding of combat.
Kael was a true warrior simply because he had principles he lived by. He was someone who learned from his failures and never repeated the same mistake twice.
He adapts in combat.
He learned from his opponent.
...and as long as he drew breath, he was never defeated.
In his battle against the five immortals, he had proven to everyone his discipline and his extensive experience as a warrior.
He is merely a Death Stage warrior, but he was now seen as a god as he walked through the gate into the city. All who saw him wore respectful looks.
The sixth level of hell, where Kent had been conquered back then, is called Nex Morbus. It had fourteen powerful cities ruled by powerful City Lords.
Initially, the main palace of the Hell King was located in Draemora, the City of Nightmares. However, after Bilad was made the acting Hell King by Kent, he built a 15th city where only he and his immediate subordinates live.
In this city, only 21,000 Hell demons live, and every last one of them is an immortal. There are also demigods, but their number is limited.
All 21,000 of them are elite warrior units Bilad had personally raised to aid their King whenever he needed help.
Uncle Drew was led straight to the palace, which was made from the skull of a Hell Dragon. It was large enough to house many rooms and a rather large meeting hall.
Uncle Drew was led to this hall
Inside the hall, Bilad sat on a throne made from bones. He was clad in a casual robe made from the skin of a Hell demon killed several years ago by him when he went training in the Damned Hell Sea.
Many years ago, Kent dominated that sea. However, back then, all Hell demons were suppressed to the peak of the Heavenly Ascension stage.
If he were to venture in today, he wouldn’t even be able to cross the outer layer. Back then, he made it to the core layer where he met Avotha, the Abyss Dragon.
Avotha is seated on the side, his expression calm as he looks at Uncle Drew walk into the hall.
"Welcome to Nex Morbus, Night Rider," Bilad said just when Uncle Drew sat down.
"Thank you. But you can just call me Uncle Drew or Kael. Whichever you prefer." Bilad nodded.
"I am Bilad, the acting Hell King of Nex Morbus, and this is my friend Avotha." Uncle Drew turned and looked at Avotha, who gave him a slight nod.
He returned the nod before turning back to Bilad, who was ready to know more about why Uncle Drew came to hell.
"I was told Lord Kent sent you. How is he doing, by the way?"
"He is doing well. He would have come here himself if he had the means; however, because of some setbacks, he sent me and his regards."
Bilad nodded, happy to hear his benefactor is well. It was just too bad that he couldn’t come in person and had to send Uncle Drew.
Kent would have loved to come to hell himself. However, to get to hell, he had to travel to a place located in the Immortal World and acquire an item that Gaia would use to build a hell gate for him.
Of course, he can also go to the Abyss Dragons and ask for their help since they are the Death Dragons, and they have a way to access hell.
However, since Avotha hates them for what they did to his mother, Kent knew that, one way or another, he would have to clash with them and get revenge for his pal.
So asking them for help is not something he can or would want to do.
Of course, there are other families he can visit who can send him there. However, he knew most of them would demand something he could not give.
So for now, he will remain in the land of the living, and once he manages to find a path to hell, he wouldn’t hesitate.
In fact, getting to the Underworld is much easier than getting to hell. However, since Uncle Drew can easily go there, he asked him to travel in his stead.
"I believe you didn’t come here just to tell me how Lord Kent is doing."
"That is true. He sent me here to get him." Uncle Drew turns to Avotha. "The young master needs help with something, and so he asks for your assistance."
"When do we leave?" Avotha asked immediately, causing Bilad to smirk. He and Avotha had gotten close over the years. They are training partners and occasional hunters in the Damned Hell Sea.
Since he was born at the core of the Damned Hell Sea, he was able to stay there for years. However, he was only able to leave when Kent’s hell road suppressed everyone.
At the core of the Damned hell sea, there are many overlords, each having their own domain. The overlords can interfere with each other. They can only go against outsiders.
Avotha inherited his mother’s domain, and for years, he hid there. However, with Kent’s help, he was able to leave.
After Kent left and the suppression was lifted, he couldn’t return again. The creatures hidden in the Damned Hell Sea are monsters he can’t contend against.
However, with Bilad’s assistance, they fought their way to the inner layer. Naturally, through the near-death moments, the two of them had gotten closer.
So Bilad was a little betrayed to hear that Avotha was ready to abandon him in hell. Avotha didn’t even bat an eye and decided to leave when Kent came calling.
Uncle Drew smiled and responded:
"We will leave once Bilad gets me this." He handed a scroll to Bilad, who nodded and called a demigod.
"Get me all the stuff on this list." The demigod nodded and left with the list.
"So, tell me more about Lord Kent’s life in the land of the living," Bilad asked.
Since the items Kent needed are now being collected, he wants to know more about the man who gave him a chance to become stronger and a King of Hell, even if he is just an interim Hell King.
Uncle Drew didn’t mind the request, so he started telling him all about Kent. Of course, he wouldn’t reveal his many lives to them. If Kent wanted, he would tell them himself.
He only told them about his current life. About 5 hours later, the items on the list were collected, and so Uncle Drew and Avotha were ready to leave.
