Chapter 1290: Meteor Shower
Chapter 1290: Meteor Shower
SLASH
A red sword zipped through the air, cutting the head of a bat-like beast. It had a large head and jagged teeth, making it look hideous and surprisingly terrifying.
Many beasts of the kind were being slaughtered all around, making Kent wonder if he had appeared in their nest. Of course, other beasts are attacking him too, but the hideous bats are numerous.
All of them are Peak Heavenly Ascension Stage Beasts, but as he continued to kill and absorb the blood essence, Kent noticed the difference in their strength.
However, that is not of concern to him. All he needed was to level up much faster.
To someone like him, every level he ascends makes a lot of difference, so he is killing with the intent of reaching the peak of the Heavenly Ascension Stage before he even starts the first phase of his mission.
Thankfully, the swords he created were doing more than he couldn’t have done with his own two hands.
Some are getting destroyed, but with each explosion of a sword, a powerful soul attack follows. This is making the destruction of the swords even more worthwhile.
’Calix, use the new Soul Spirits to strengthen yourself. Soon, there will be multiple harrowing battles, and I need you at your peak.’ Kent transmitted to his soul warrior resting inside his Soul Universe.
"Okay, My Lord." Calix sat in a lotus posture and began absorbing the soul spirits that appeared within the Soul Universe as a result of Kent’s little airborne massacre.
He did say he needed stronger soul spirits if he wanted to have a shot at reaching the Root Immortal stage.
Although Kent knew it wasn’t going to be that simple, since he is now farming more soul spirits, letting him increase his strength wasn’t too bad.
[Master, we have lost 100 swords.]
’Replace them and then forge more. Since we now have the soul spirits, keep creating more swords and spears.’
[The swords cost less compared to the spears. So until we have more soul spirits, I will go for the swords. You have 30,000 spears untouched yet after all.]
’Do as you see fit, Tower. All I want is enough weapons to use when I need them.’
Soon, the ground entered Kent’s sensing range. However, what he saw made his blood turn cold.
On the ground, waiting for him, is a sea of monsters, some bigger than an apartment building, while others are relatively small to take them seriously.
Ant Queens, three-headed lions, metallic spiders, wyverns, rhinos, and a whole lot of monsters stood, growling, howling, roaring, and making all kinds of sounds.
Kent caught his fall and started moving at his own pace as his brain worked to devise a plan. "Looks like it is going to be a dangerous battle when I touch down, Tower."
[Indeed, Master. The moment you touch down, they will be all over you.]
Kent knew that, and so he started looking around him. All over, the swords he is controlling are doing their work; however, he knew even if he were to take out all his weapons from the Soul Universe, it wouldn’t be enough for what is waiting for him on the ground.
[The Master can go ahead and drop some meteorites. I am sure that will create a loud enough chaos for the Master to make his appearance.]
Kent grinned. He was thinking about the same thing. Although he has only 3000 meteorites, if he were to use just a hundred, the impact would be loud enough to clear a couple of thousand beasts.
But he would be down a hundred meteorites.
"Let’s do that," Kent said as he came to a stop just when he was 10,000 km from the ground. He tapped into his Soul Universe, and then, up in the air, 100 meteorites appeared, instantly clearing the darkness.
On the outside, Adin and the two immortals felt the Void Forest start to tremble as bright orange lights appeared through the seal.
They knew something big was going on deep inside the Void Forest, but they didn’t know what.
Meanwhile, on the ground inside the Void Forest, the thousands of beasts that had congregated started to scatter, watching as flaming mountains of space stones rapidly descended on them.
Kent remained in the air, a smirk playing on his lips as the meteorites passed him by and headed toward the ground.
Inside the Void Temple, the Annihilation Temple Master sat upright, his expression shocked. He never in his life expected someone like Kent to unleash such a power of annihilation.
However, inasmuch as he would love to deny it, the meteorites falling are worthy to be called annihilation-worthy attacks.
In the end, nothing could stop them from falling.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
They started exploding on the ground, creating deep craters. With every explosion of the meteorite, a sea of flames burst out everywhere, swallowing everything in its path.
Kent made sure he spread out the meteorites far enough to create a chain of explosions, ensuring all the beasts that moved back when the meteorites appeared were struck.
"Waste of precious blood," Kent shook his head, watching as thousands of beasts were being burned to ashes and charred remains.
Their blood is being burnt, leaving Kent with little to absorb into his Soul Universe.
However, the blood essences are being absorbed, and that is all that matters. He may lose blood during his second blood-cleansing bath, but it can be recovered later.
Once he finds a good place to settle down, he will absorb the blood essence to boost his cultivation and see if he can saturate his first core with this much.
In a span of five minutes, all 100 meteorites exploded and killed tens of thousands of beasts. When the last meteorite exploded, a vast land of scorched earth was revealed.
Kent had completely cleared about 300,000 km of land mass. Large craters stretching several thousand kilometres and going as deep as another thousand kilometres littered the ground.
"Tower, how many did we get?"
[102,567 beasts. The majority are Heavenly Ascension—a couple of thousand Empyrean and hundreds of Life stage beasts. We failed to kill any of the Death stage beasts.
However, their escape path has given a direction for where the Void Temple is located. It would also lead us to the beasts we came here to hunt.]
"Then it was a resounding success, huh?" Kent took a deep breath, and then he flew down, landing softly on the hot ground.
Inside the 80,000 km radius, no living beast could be seen. All of them had either become ash or charred remains of their former selves.
It was a good slaughter and a remarkable entrance for someone of Kent’s standing.
"Someone is watching me." Kent suddenly stopped and then turned sharply to the west. He cannot see the person, but he can tell they are watching him with extreme killing intent.
Knowing this, an idea formed in his mind. He let a grin form on his face...
"I don’t know if you can hear me, but know that I am coming, and the only thing you can do is wash your neck and wait for me." After saying that, Kent gave the person the middle finger before jumping into one of the craters, vanishing from sight.
Inside the Void Temple, the demonic-looking temple master gritted his teeth, flames bursting out from his eyes.
He heard what Kent said, and to make it worse, he also lost sight of him. It was like Kent had vanished from his eye.
Over a hundred thousand beasts he sent out died like chickens. That is a low blow...
So he sent out a thousand more, this time many Death stage beasts to surround the crater. When Kent comes out, he will be dead meat.
