Chapter 1423: The Ninth Floor - The Damned Prison (6)
Chapter 1423: The Ninth Floor - The Damned Prison (6)
[Vexthra’s Battle]
Unlike how Kent and the others began their battle with little to no words, when Vexthra faced her opponent, things played out differently.
Her opponent, just as she expected, was a towering skeletal titan made of sand and obsidian metal. Its skin was sandy, constantly falling off while new sand rose from the ground and merged with it.
In a way, he was just like the Titan Kaizo was facing; the only difference here was that this titan was made of pure sand and a bit lean compared to the towering, muscular, rocky titan Kaizo was bombarding with countless punches.
"A True Immortal, really?" the Sand Titan said, looking strangely at Vexthra.
He was an Immortal Emperor, yet his opponent was a mere True Immortal. If that wasn’t an insult, then perhaps insults were overrated these days.
"I should be the one saying that. You see, I am actually a god, but I was suppressed so I can fit the narrative. In most cases, I wouldn’t even have to walk all the way here just to kill you.
With a snap of my finger, I could kill you from thousands of light-years away. But now that we are here, I suppose this is the universe’s way of making me have some fun."
The Sand Titan narrowed his brown eyes at Vexthra, then he lifted his right hand, causing a brown sabre to appear in it.
It formed from the sand, taking on a brown metallic color.
"I guess delusion can stem from being bombarded by the heat inside my domain. You came all this way just to die at my sword." He pointed his sabre at Vexthra and added, "I will make sure it ends painlessly."
He moved, and the sand moved with him.
In an instant, he was standing before her, his sabre stabbing toward her chest. Vexthra smiled and pointed her index finger forward. A green energy materialized at her fingertips just when the sabre struck it.
There was no sound, no blood, or even a push. Considering the amount of force behind that stabbing attack, she was at least expected to move back a few steps.
However, not even her finger moved an inch. The sabre just stopped.
"How..." The Sand Titan’s expression turned ugly. He pulled back, using the sand as a medium to distance himself.
"I already told you I am a god, but you didn’t believe me. I may appear a True Immortal at the moment, but I have the memories of a god.
This means I have already passed the Immortal stage, and while you would have had a good chance fighting me if this were when I was a true Immortal, I have already mastered Immortal Qi to the point that no immortal, regardless of rank, can defeat me."
Vexthra poked the air with her still green-coated finger, and lines started appearing in the air.
"Impossible. Immortal Qi is not used like that." The Sand Titan moved back again, fearing the lines appearing in the air.
"I suppose you are right. Immortal Qi cannot be used like this. However, if you had already mastered Divine Essence and knew the law that goes into converting Immortal Qi into Divine Essence, then sealing a space would be as simple as a snap of the finger."
SNAP
The Sand Titan’s body suddenly froze in place. Then it cracked, and before long, the sand on the ground began to cool.
"What are you doing?" he asked, feeling the coldness seeping deep into his body.
"I suppose, since you are counting on the sand to kill me, why don’t I rewrite the laws around us so that I can transform the sand into water? This way, even without doing anything, you will just slowly melt away."
As she said that, the ground began to turn to mud. Then slowly, it started turning watery. The Sand Titan tried to fly up, but he found out that jumping off his feet was even a struggle.
"The laws have been rewritten, buddy. No need to struggle."
The desert began to turn into a river. Slowly, the Sand Titan was left standing in water. But to make a mockery of the moment, despite standing 4 meters tall, as the water began to appear, his height slowly decreased.
Vexthra remained on the side, a smile playing on her lips as she watched all this unfold.
If Kent were to be present, he would finally understand why Vexthra always says that when he gets to the Immortal Realm, he shouldn’t just offend anyone.
Vexthra had been suppressed, but there was no way Kent would be able to defeat her.
She knew too much and could do quite a lot, so even if Kent had the means to face an Immortal Lord, the chances of him losing against someone like Vexthra were very high.
It was all about the laws.
The deeper one’s understanding of the laws of the Universe, the greater their control in battle.
Gods don’t fight using skills and techniques. They use the laws they have mastered. They can create any concept using the laws.
She only needed one Immortal Qi to rewrite the law of an Immortal World. How much more could she do if she were to use three Immortal Qis?
Five minutes later, the Sand Titan’s body had completely dissolved into water. Vexthra looked at the small river she had created and smiled.
"Transformation of Life, I suppose."
She smirked and walked away, heading further west. With the laws rewritten, there will now be a river in the desert.

[Neomi’s Battle]
Meanwhile, as Neomi sank deeper into the ocean, she started to feel the water around her heat up. Initially, she didn’t place much emphasis on it.
However, as she got closer to her target, her skin began to turn red. This told her what she needed to know.
"I suppose dual affinity is normal."
It seemed her opponent had both water and fire elemental affinities, so instead of merely attacking her with water, it was using fire too.
Neomi knew she had to see what she would be dealing with before making any move. So despite the heat, she moved deeper until she came face-to-face with a colossal serpent.
Its entire body was covered in an obsidian carapace, and strangely, it had over a dozen pairs of spider-like legs. Its eyes were green, and with every breath it took, smoke came out of its nostrils.
"Well, I should have expected that," Neomi sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed from merely laying eyes on her target.
The abyssal leviathan locked eyes with her for a few minutes before the water around it started to boil. Neomi moved back—not too much that it would suggest she was trying to run, nor too little that it would suggest she wanted to retaliate.
She merely wanted to have a better look at her opponent and the changes happening around it.
The moment she was far enough, she retrieved a ball-like item from her space ring and smiled, showing it to the abyssal leviathan.
"I have sealed the 2km radius around us, meaning whatever happens here will not affect the space outside the 2km radius containment.
So if I were to drop this poison, in no time, the water within a 2km radius will be affected, and as such, we will both suffocate and die. However..."
Neomi flicked her wrist, and a green pill fell into her palm. "If you were to have a Tier 19 antidote prepared by a Pill Immortal, then you can do this."
She swallowed the pill and then clenched the ball of poison, and at once, the water started turning green.
The abyssal leviathan moved, and Neomi responded with a fierce spear attack.
