Chapter 1475: Are you hitting on me
Chapter 1475: Are you hitting on me
"I have to applaud your bravery, Chaos. You have proven to me that even a mortal can face an immortal and not cower like a bug. For that, I, Vika Bin Masha, am impressed.
However, being impressed and trusting you are completely different things. To tell you the truth, I am happy with the life I have now.
I have enough power to roam this world and many worlds out there. I have friends who would come to my aid when I find myself in a bind, and most importantly, I have a backer before whom even gods bow. So why should I even trust you?
If I take Fallon and her sister away like I planned to, my position in my master’s heart will skyrocket, and I know without a shred of doubt that I would gain more than I have now. So basically, I have nothing to lose and more to gain."
Kent sighed, and then he smiled before raising two fingers. "I am now going to threaten you. After that, I will also give you a peaceful reason why you should trust me."
Fallon shifted her head and looked strangely at Kent. She was scared, which was perfectly normal. She and her sister arrived in Snow City two years ago and have been lying low ever since.
They usually had 10 years before they were forced to move. However, this time around, after just two years, they were found. While it was shocking to see that the one who came after her now is Vika, it made her sigh.
She once trusted Vika with a secret, and now, it seems she has used it against her.
In the past, those who came after them were found out by her first, and she made sure to eliminate them before they moved to a different city.
But today, they had nowhere to go. Their only hope was Kent, who seemed to have somehow captured Vika’s attention, only for him to say he would threaten her.
Vika laughed, which, for some reason, made her seem harmless thanks to her beauty. Maybe that was why she wore the mask. She is too good-looking to be an assassin.
"Go ahead and threaten me."
Kent nodded. "First of all, I have to admit you are one beautiful elf. Not many beauties like you would resolve to killing people for a living."
Vika smirked, and Fallon sighed, knowing they were doomed.
"However, since you want to have a reason to trust me, then here we go. My name is not really Chaos. Of course, it used to be my name. As to what I am called now, I won’t tell you, unless, of course, you want to know over a drink, maybe dinner."
Vika narrowed her eyes. "Are you hitting on me?"
"A wise man once said, even in death, one cannot stop shooting their shot."
"Unbelievable... Just who are you?"
Kent laughed and answered, "Nobody special, just the most beloved only brother of a legendary supreme level assassin many call Crimson Dagger. He also happens to be the First Elder of the Midnight Shadows.
I don’t like being associated with him because he is all about one mission after another instead of living life.
Oh, before I forget, I also happen to have a close relationship with the goddess of hatred and resentment. This contract is linked to her, so even if you were to kill me today or, worse, try to enslave me, she would know, and trust me, she will come for me.
Of course, even if you let me go but take these two away, I will just have to call for help, and she will come. I hate to call my brother because he would kill more than he should.
Also, before I forget, I am friends with the Overlord of Hell. That bastard kidnapped me once, but thanks to my brother’s help, he and I are now friends.
Lastly, I happen to know the ruler of this planet. While she hates my guts, if she senses my life is in danger, she would come to my rescue no matter the distance between us.
But then again, knowing her temper, I may end up dead alongside you.
If you don’t believe me, take away your aura, and I will show you that a mere snap of my finger is all it will take to summon gods and demigods."
The smile on Kent’s face grew while the frown on Vika’s deepened.
"Now, to make peace, if you were to help me today by freeing the two sisters, I will use every connection I have to ensure that in less than 1,000 years, you will become a demigod, and in 10,000 years’ time, becoming a god won’t be impossible.
We can sign a blood contract, which I believe will cement my words. In the end, we all want to live and one day reach the peak, so make the best decision that will benefit you the most.
In addition, I will offer my painting services for any request you have. Personally, I want to give you a full-body portrait that will capture every aspect of your being, with no clothes on, obviously."
"Bluffs," Vika said.
"Drop your aura and let’s find out. Of course, I promise you will not die today, even if I summon a god, which I can do, provided you take away your aura."
"What if I do not want to?"
"Then kill me and take them away. Of course, with that, I doubt you will live long enough to deliver them to whoever sent you."
Vika moved close to Kent and took hold of his chin. Their faces were only inches apart. "Who really are you, and why aren’t you scared of me?"
"As I said, I won’t tell you, at least until we get to know each other better." Kent pointed at the contract. "Sign, and we will go our separate ways, or drop your aura and let’s see if I was telling the truth."
Vika took a step back, then she sighed. Afterwards, she turned and looked at Fallon before shifting her attention to Aysel.
"Prove it." She lowered her aura, which instantly made Kent sigh. He then turned to Fallon and Aysel and gave them a simple nod.
"Very well. Everyone, meet Vexthra, the goddess of hatred and resentment." Kent snapped his fingers, a smile playing on his lips.
Vika, Fallon, and Aysel tensed, hoping to meet the goddess Kent was calling. However, even after 10 seconds, nobody appeared. The sisters lost their last strand of hope while Vika grinned.
Kent, on the other hand, frowned. He snapped his fingers again, calling for Miryssa, but, to his shock, even after calling for Avotha, Vargus, and Lene, none of them appeared.
This soured his mood very much. Seeing this, Vika spun her dagger and took a step forward, pressing it against his neck.
"Looks like you are all talk and no action. Fear not, I won’t kill you. After I deliver these two, I will take you to a slave master who would make you mine and perhaps help me extract whatever secret you have."
Kent’s killing intent filled his eyes when he heard Vika threaten for the third time that she would make him her slave.
He wanted to attack; however, before he could will his body to move, a sweet voice came from nowhere and entered everyone’s ears.
"He really hates it when you threaten him with slavery, especially when he was being nice."
Space warped, and from thin air, Vexthra appeared, a smile playing on her lips. "Looks like you have finally met your match, dear."
