Chapter 1522: Lord Genesis Final Moments
Chapter 1522: Lord Genesis Final Moments
Kent precisely recalled to Inaya what happened in his final moments during the divine era.
"During the last moments of the Divine War, one of the Sword Elders discovered the source of the breach, and so I, along with all twelve Sword Elders, ventured there against all odds, knowing that once the guardian of the gate was cut down, the invasion would end.
It took us two years to get there because of the dangers we faced along the way. When we finally came face to face with the guardian, I was given the fright of my life."
Kent visibly shuddered.
This display told Inaya that what he saw indeed caused him the greatest fear of his life. She could only wonder, since she wasn’t there to witness it herself.
"It turned out that in the Foreign Realm, there are three Kings. They were known as the Kings of Divine Trinity: the Heavens King, the Earth King, and the Abyss King.
The one we went to meet was the Abyss King, a rather terrible individual, if you ask me. We expected there to be dozens of Celestials waiting for us there, but we met only one, and he was stronger than a thousand Celestials combined."
Inaya squinted her eyes—something she loved to do...
"Are you saying what I think you are saying...?"
"Yes, the Abyss King was someone above the rank of a Celestial. Of course, he wasn’t fully above it, more like halfway there."
"How is that even possible?" Inaya was visibly shocked, and given how her chest was heaving, she seemed even more troubled on the inside.
Back when Jest was arguing his case to the twelve Sword Elders, he claimed there was another sword realm above the Sword Supreme stage simply because there is a Celestial stage cultivation realm.
His logic was that simple. Since we have Celestials, there can also be sword Celestials.
His argument was met with considerable criticism; however, he later proved them wrong and helped all twelve of them reach the peak within a few hundred years.
Later, when Jest glimpsed into another realm beyond the Sword Celestial stage, they should have suspected there to be another realm above the Celestial stage.
However, they never did, until it was too late.
"You know, when we discovered this, the only thought that came to mind was greed. I sensed it, and as you are already thinking, so did the other twelve Sword Elders.
Long story short, the Abyss King offered to help them reach his level, and so they accepted his offer in a heartbeat. Those greedy, uncultured, deluded, evil bastards.
In a flash, I went from having twelve Celestials behind me to thirteen powerhouses against me.
I knew I wouldn’t win the battle, so I did the only thing I knew would save this universe and everyone I love. Making sure you were safe from that threat was everything to me. So, I used my life force to push them all back to the Foreign Realm and seal the gate shut.
It was the shortest battle I ever fought, yet the most impactful. I died a few days after, forever lifting the threat of my heart demon off your head and saving the universe in the process."
Inaya looked at him closely once again, and after a few seconds, she hugged him tightly.
There were so many questions she wanted to ask, but hearing how he died, she knew there was nothing more important than holding him right now.
Strangely, as she held him, feeling his breath on her neck, the seal of hatred that had bloomed into a heart demon deep in her heart was being destroyed much faster than she had felt a few minutes ago.
If she was meant to become a Supreme in one year’s time, then that time had been reduced to eight months due to how fast she was being freed.
They remained like that for a few more minutes before they pulled back.
"It wasn’t too terrible, really. I got to see real danger up close and know that when we meet next time, the one who will feel despair will be him.
As for the twelve Sword Elders, for their betrayal, I will happily take my time and kill them all."
The aura of vengeance, something Jest had cultivated over thousands of years of exacting revenge, oozed from Kent’s body, making Inaya smile.
"I have no doubt about that, my love. Only that this time, I will be by your side like it should have been," her hold on him tightened.
"Though, how do you plan on getting rid of your heart demon?" She paused and then added in a chilling tone, "I suppose killing Dia won’t solve it either."
Kent looked at Inaya for a split second before he smirked. As someone who had cultivated the Ten Emotion Sword Dao, she could turn off her empathy like flicking a switch.
If killing Dia would solve the problem, she would have no problem beheading her. It was one reason why it took them a million years to realise their feelings for each other.
Inaya could be considered the incarnation of mood swings.
"No, killing Dia won’t solve anything. In fact, I came to Planet Brymrr to seek your help in permanently eradicating it."
"Then what are you waiting for? Go ahead and tell me what you need."
"The reason why Ainna said my fate is complex is because I have an incomplete fate. The reason, however, had to do with my first incarnation. A few years before I was cursed, a Forsaken Seer saved me despite the hatred I have for her kind.
She bandaged me, cared for me, and when I was healed, she let me leave. This encounter, however, resulted in me unknowingly losing a part of my fate to her.
Later, she was discovered by her people, and they sealed her away in a place only a few had ever returned."
Kent paused and then asked his next question:
"Mind telling me what business you had venturing into Amon’s Guillotine Cave?"
Inaya blinked a few times, then a smile appeared on her face. "I needed a place so quiet and free from the wars of the universe to take a nap, so I chose there as my bedroom for a few eras." She grinned.
"Best four eras of my life."
Kent shook his head, a bit stunned and dumbfounded upon hearing why she ventured into such a harrowing place.
"Well, I need you to go there again and retrieve the Forsaken Seer for me. I don’t know if she was also taking a nap like you, but I need her to hand over the other half of my fate so I can rid myself of this heart demon.
If I can’t do that before I reach godhood, Dia and I will both be in danger."
"Sure. I must become a Supreme first, though. Those bastards in that dreadful place will surely pick a fight, so I better prepare well before going."
"You have two years to prepare, so get on it before I am forced to shove you there myself."
"Oh, confident now, are we not?" Inaya grinned and was about to activate her evil side when Kent grabbed her and pulled both of them into the water.
He moved closer and kissed her. A few kisses underwater later, they surfaced and continued to kiss more.
It had been billions of years, after all; they owed each other a kiss or two.
