Chapter 1672: Bone Lich Undead Emperor
Chapter 1672: Bone Lich Undead Emperor
Two people stood facing each other, fierce looks in their eyes, frowns on their faces, and fists clenched.
On one side, a man with red hair and red eyes sat on a throne made of bones. His right leg was placed on the seat, elevating it and putting him in a perfect posture to support his chin. He was clad in black armor adorned with bone ornaments.
A bone staff ending in a skull crown with hollow eyes hovered beside him.
The crown, or judging by its horrible nature, a helmet that better fit the name, rested atop his head, and his shoulders were covered in a warm embrace of ash fur, the kind that made him appear both intimidating and a bit handsome.
Well, he is indeed handsome, and considering he appeared to be around 35 years old while the one facing him looked to be in his early 20s, he was more mature and, more importantly, extremely dangerous.
Compared to the man seated on the throne, Kent appeared more docile.
The man exuded a necrotic Qi (Death Qi) so intense and suffocating that Kent, who tried to remain indifferent, soon found himself feeling pressured. The aura around the man is on another level.
"And they get weirder and weirder," Kent muttered, a sigh escaping his lips.
He regarded the man for a few more seconds before addressing him. "So why am I here?"
Kent knew the man on the throne was him, or more accurately, one of his incarnations. Just like Chaos, Faceless, and Ruthless Bandit, this man was also one of his 13 incarnations.
Under normal circumstances, he would have been happy if they had met of his own accord. He mostly used the memory keys to retrieve his memories when he wanted to.
But for a while now, they had just been coming to him either in his sleep or when he saw something or someone familiar.
This time around, instead of Ruthless Bandit, he was face-to-face with another incarnation he had yet to recall.
The man on the throne tapped his armrest, and a chair appeared behind Kent. A force pushed him down into it. Kent had no choice but to sit.
"It is a bit weird meeting myself in a different body and more alive," he grinned, looking at Kent with eyes that told the Chaos Dragon he had met Ruthless Bandit 2.0. "I am more fond of dealing with the dead, you see."
"So it was you who killed the first 13 Underworld Kings and Queens?" Kent asked, his eyes narrowing.
"They gave me no choice but to turn them into useful warriors. I merely wanted the bones of an Abyssal Chaos Prince, yet they made it seem like they had some power."
The man smirked and asked, "If you were in my shoes, what would you have done?"
"I would have knocked them out and taken what I came for. Shit, I would have negotiated something more calm and understandable with them or exchanged the bones for something of equal value."
The man looked at Kent and smirked. "I had no other choice but to make them understand what true power looks like. After all, I promised them a new life, one where eternity is forever."
Kent shook his head and sighed. He had hoped that after Ruthless Bandit, he would not meet another incarnation this cruel and evil.
However, while this one had no evil Qi around him, the aura he exuded was even worse. Kent could only imagine a scenario where this bastard hated living things and made it his business to play with the dead.
"Just so you know, we have pissed off the Empress of the Underworld, so congratulations. We are now the killers of your own wife’s subordinates."
The man furrowed his brow upon hearing Kent’s words.
"I have no idea what any of what you just said means, but be happy you are or would be living my life. Trust me, I was one of the most dangerous beings to ever grace this universe with my honorable existence."
A chuckle escaped Kent’s lips, and he asked in a slightly louder tone, "So what is it that I am here for, and more importantly, who are you?"
The man changed his posture, crossing his left leg over his right.
"I go by many names and titles. Some called me the Bone King. Others called me the True Undead Emperor, the Grave Necromancer, Master of the Memento Mori. Some called me the Renegade King, and the heavens once called me the Bone Lich.
"However, I once ruled the Realm of the Undead, bearing the title of the Bone Lich Undead Emperor. Pleasure meeting you or me."
The smug look on his face made Kent sneer.
"Bitch, I asked for your name, the name your mother gave you."
"Oh, that? You should have been specific with your question." He laughed and flipped his hair to the side. "My dear mother, the Goddess of the Divine Temple, and my father, one of the Heaven Guards, named me Sanders Dreamchild."
"Hold on, bastard. Did you just say your mother is a Goddess at the Divine Temple, and your father is one of the Heaven Guards?"
"Yes," Sanders answered.
"Then why the hell are you a Necromancer? Isn’t the entire mission of the Divine Temple to rid the universe of necromancers and evil cultivators?"
"I know, right?" Sanders laughed.
"Unbelievable."
Through Ruthless Bandit’s memories, Kent had come to know some of the organizations that had tried to kill him back then. One of them was the Divine Temple, and they had come close to killing him a few times.
From what he knew of them, they were blessed by the heavens to rid the universe of beings who violated the natural order. Ruthless Bandit had disturbed the heavens in all the worst ways, and so they had tried many times to kill him.
If what Sanders said was true, then his mother must have tried to kill him several times.
He looked up and saw that Sanders was smiling at him.
"Whatever you are thinking about, wipe it from your mind, punk. Mom never tried to kill us. In fact, she was the reason I became the strongest in my era. Our mother loved us greatly, and because of her love, we must ensure she remains happy forever.
"That starts by killing a few people, the first of them being the one who called himself the King of Light. He killed a friend of mine, the Goddess of Light, and imprisoned our mother and father in the Chaos Abyss."
"Say what now?"
Waves of evil Qi exploded from Kent’s body, making Sanders grin.
"I tried to save them, but failed. However, I prepared an army powerful enough to aid you in rescuing them this time around."
"Looks like some people just choose to court death for nothing." Kent gritted his teeth, his gaze burning with dangerous fire.
"Tell me more."
Sanders grinned. "Why tell you when you can experience everything from the day you were born?"
"Then what are you waiting for? Send me down memory lane."
Sanders chuckled and asked, "By the way, how is Kaizo?"
"How did you..." Kent’s eyes narrowed.
"I can smell him on you."
Kent sighed, forgetting he was standing in front of the incarnation who had formed the Undead Legion. This meant he knew Kaizo and the others. He was already away. Kaizo also came when he called during the Primordial Era.
This also told him he had been living Sanders’ life all along. In fact, he had this nagging feeling that he had been living all 13 lives. The only thing left was to unlock his memories and reclaim his job classes.
"He is fine and battle-ready as ever."
"As expected of my pal Kaizo." Sanders smiled and grabbed his bone staff. "The next time we meet, I want to hear some good news."
He fired a beam that landed on Kent’s forehead.
The next second, he found himself as a baby crying in the arms of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
