Chapter 1745: World Core Crystal
Chapter 1745: World Core Crystal
It took the sand demon elders some time to convince everyone to accept the offer Enzi and her sisters had made. They knew that living in the desert was no longer an option.
They had been through so much that many of them were traumatized. So if there was a place where they could live out the rest of their lives without danger, they would gladly accept it.
Still, some were skeptical, which was only natural. They had just escaped from the Blood Sand Berserker, so what if the place they were being taken to was just another prison where they would become food for another hungry beast?
The three ladies addressed their concerns by taking ten representatives into the tower and showing them around the city where they would be living.
It wasn’t a desert city but one built from bricks and pure earth. Gaia and her subordinates had worked tirelessly over the past few years, so there were already three cities waiting to be occupied.
Gaia’s vision of a [erfect world inside the tower was slowly being built by her, and one of the spaces would be for the Sand demons.
Of course, given the kind of lives the sand demons had endured over the years, Enzi promised them that within less than five months, they would have a desert-inspired city ready if they wished for such a setting.
For now, however, they could stay in this one.
The ten representatives were overjoyed. So when they returned to the outside world, they had nothing but praise for what they had seen. In the end, the entire tribe agreed to the relocation.
Enzi and her sisters immediately began moving the sand demons into the tower city.
But while that was happening, the auction had entered its final rounds. Already, over twenty items had been sold, leaving only four more to go.
Over the past couple of hours, one treasure after another had been auctioned. None had caught Kent’s attention. However, Flura placed bids on a few herbs and successfully won the ones she truly needed.
Aside from that, despite a few ores being put up for auction, Kent left them to the blacksmiths, especially Lady Khronisia.
Of course, every last item auctioned would be good materials for upgrading the Lost Knights.
However, Kent had no intention of using ordinary materials to upgrade his knights. He only wanted the best, so he let the likes of Lady Khronisia win those bids instead.
Right now, another armor set from the Chaos Era was up for bidding, and considering its value and usefulness, everyone wanted it.
The price had already reached 50 trillion, yet none of them was willing to back down. They all wanted it, so the bidding continued for another forty minutes before the final bid of 135 trillion was placed.
In the end, the armor found its new owner, and with that, the twenty-second item was brought onto the stage. The moment the glass chamber housing the item was revealed, everyone shifted in their seats.
"A World Core Crystal," Kent muttered, his eyes sparkling.
And he wasn’t the only one. Everyone present had their gaze locked onto the crystal.
"This is the World Core Crystal, which I believe all of you have already recognized," the auctioneer said.
Everyone nodded.
"Kent, what is this World Core Crystal?" Elina asked, resting her head on Vexthra’s shoulder. The rest of her sisters were still playing with the Dragon Rod, but she chose to remain by her big sister’s side for now.
Kent looked at her and smiled.
"It is a Crystal formed when a world experiences a natural death. Some worlds, both inhabited and uninhabited, perish for various reasons.
Some die due to harsh conditions, while others die due to intense battles that have happened on it in the past.
However, before they die, they condense their essence and laws into what you are looking at. Contained within this World Core Crystal are the very laws of nature that the planet had comprehended—the Laws of Creation, Life, Death, and many more.
When used to refine weapons, the likelihood of the weapon inheriting the laws contained within the crystal is extremely high. In fact, most law-infused weapons were forged using World Core Crystals."
"Then it sounds like it would be perfect for what you have in mind," Elina said, and Kent nodded.
"It would indeed be perfect. After all, refining battle dolls is no different from refining weapons, and I happen to be one of the greatest blacksmiths to ever walk the face of the universe."
The girls laughed, knowing that while many would dismiss it as bragging, he truly was the legendary Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith who had once dominated the world of blacksmithing.
"I suppose you will be buying it," Pandora asked.
Yet again, Kent nodded.
"It is a perfect addition to the Heaven’s Breath Crystal. Those two alone will do for now... Of course, if another one appears, I’ll bid for it as well. But these two are enough for the time being."
The ladies knew he had to focus, so they pulled away, allowing him to prepare for the bidding war that was about to unfold.
"Since we all know how valuable World Core Crystals are, you should also know that this one came from a God World. This also means it contains traces of divine essence."
The VIP rooms immediately became lively. Everyone wanted it even more than they had wanted the Heaven’s Breath Crystal.
"The starting bid is set at 10 trillion Spirit Stones, with a minimum increment of 2 trillion Spirit Stones per bid. I will reiterate that this is an auction, so refrain from using your background to threaten anyone."
Everyone nodded.
"The bidding starts now."
"20 trillion!"
"30 trillion!"
"35 trillion!"
In an instant, the price soared as everyone rushed to place their bids. In fact, over sixty percent of the thousands of attendees were actively bidding.
Kent remained seated, as none of this concerned him. He was simply waiting for the small fries to exhaust their funds before making his move.
Inside the various VIP rooms, those he had already identified as truly wealthy also remained silent for now. The bidding war had only just begun, and with three more items still left to be auctioned, many knew this was their best opportunity to secure at least one treasure.
Auctions could never satisfy everyone.
Some were destined to come, try their best, and leave without winning a single bid, while others would walk away with multiple treasures and leave with satisfied hearts.
So while the big dogs remained silent, the chatterboxes were having the time of their lives, making sure that after today, they would at least be able to brag that they had once come close to winning the bid for a World Core Crystal.
The bidding continued relentlessly for another thirty minutes before many people finally started backing out.
Just then, the fatty inside VIP Room 79 made his move—or rather, had the slave lady place the bid on his behalf.
"250 trillion."
It was a massive leap from the previous bid of 170 trillion.
The moment his bid echoed throughout the auction hall, Kent could hear people gritting their teeth even from the VIP rooms he had been monitoring.
Perhaps many who had watched the fatty purchase one treasure after another had assumed he had finally run out of money, and so he wouldn’t bid on this.
However, that wasn’t the case at all.
The bastard was still loaded.
But there was someone even wealthier than he was, and that person had already marked him for death.
"300 trillion."
Kent finally placed his first bid.
