Chapter 1885 Deeper Corruption

Chapter 1885 Deeper Corruption

Everything happened so fast that before everyone knew it, Kent was already on the ground, his expression pale and his body practically drained of all energy.

Yet again, Kent came close to death had it not been for Lady Kenzie and Hades stepping in when he needed help.

Since they are connected to his life and death, respectively, whenever his life is threatened, Lady Kenzie handles that, and when death tries to claim him, Hades handles that.

Just now, something dreadful tried to take him down, but they were already connected to him, so they managed to stop it from happening.

Lady Kenzie and Hades appeared on the outside just as Kent was drained to make sure his body was also protected. There was no better way to ensure Kent's safety than these two.

"Master, you really should take your life and death more seriously," Lady Kenzie said, casting a healing spell on Kent while Hades worked on taking away the lingering aura of death on and within Kent's soul.

Dia, however, removed the heart demon and caged it again.

Luckily, Kent didn't pass out this time, so after a few minutes of healing, he was back on his feet, though he was still weak from what he had experienced when he tried to soul-search the shadowy fiend.

"Kent, what happened?" Dia asked, looking worried.

Kent just smiled and brushed his hand through her hair. "Nothing too crazy. I just performed a soul search on the shadowy fiend, and I may have overstepped my boundaries."

Dia narrowed her eyes at him and frowned. "You call that nothing too crazy? Just what is considered crazy in your books then?"

Kent just smiled but didn't answer her question.

Rather, he turned and looked at the shadowy fiend and sighed.

"All I can say is, the undead realm is in grave danger, one that, if not handled well, will doom your kind. I hate to say this, but even I can't handle it alone unless your old man is willing to provide me with the resources I'll need.

But I think we both know that will be difficult, considering the kind of hatred he has for me is far deeper than the one he has for his mortal enemies."

Kent smirked and continued.

"Honestly, I don't even know why he hates me. We used to be friends, you know. He and I explored some of the most dreadful zones in the undead realm back in the day. So I don't even know what changed for him to become bitter toward me."

Dominique sighed, knowing that, indeed, things would be extremely complex if Kent and her father were to see eye to eye.

"But there is a silver lining, though, and I think if we work together, we will be able to get him on board."

Dominique's interest was piqued, causing her to knit her brow and look at Kent with a curious gaze. "I am listening."

"So when I tried the soul search on the shadowy fiend, I managed to see some memories that belonged to the corruption it came from.

Apparently, the reason why the Abyssal Chaos will be attacking your home is because of something precious hidden in your realm.

I don't know what they want from the undead realm, but their interest in it is so great that they planned to use the abyssal race to get it.

Of course, they haven't accounted for my presence in any of this. However, they clearly underestimate me when I say that the attack on your realm would not happen, since I had plans to go to the Abyssal Chaos within the next 200 years."

"Oh, that is new." Dominique and Athena furrowed their brows, each wondering why someone like Kent would drop everything and go to such a dreadful place.

They knew he wasn't going because the undead realm was threatened. In fact, Dominique didn't even see him agreeing to help her kind deal with the corruption and the Abyssal Chaos.

The last she checked, Kent was driven away by her kind, and so he owed them nothing.

How then was he going there...

"Relax, I am not going there to wage war. There are some people close to me imprisoned there, and I intend to bring them back. That said, while there, anything can happen, so we can work some things out and, if possible, involve your old man or not involve him.

Regardless, in the next 200 years, there is a chance your people would have to step in, or I will handle everything without them knowing.

But as Athena had said, this corruption has already corrupted a lot of horrors in the undead realm, so that part, whether your old man likes it or not, he either compromises with me or I will happily stand on the side and watch your realm burn to the ground."

Dominique nodded, wearing a serious expression.

At least their trip wasn't for nothing. They managed to identify the issue with the Abyssal Chaos, but they knew that before Kent returned to the Undead Realm, he and the Undead Monarch would have to sit down and reach a compromise.

"You must know that the moment the events in the Abyssal Chaos are disrupted by me, the corruption will activate its second plan. So if there are going to be any discussions, they should happen within the next 200 years.

We would have to set up safeguards to handle the chances of anything happening. Of course, if the undead realm is destined to fall, you have a place here with me, so you shouldn't worry too much."

Dominique nodded, but she knew that, as the Third Undead Princess of the Undead Realm, it was her duty to ensure her people were protected.

So, unless it was a last resort, she would not abandon them.

She nodded, wearing a serious expression.

Seeing this, Kent just smiled.

"Relax a little, Dominique. While your father is difficult and borderline insane, he is still the monarch who loves his people, so he will see reason. But even if he doesn't, when the time comes, I will just unleash the full extent of my Bone Lich Undead Necromancy Class and handle everything on my own."

Kent laughed, though he was being extremely serious.
