Chapter 1917 Revenge Is a Bitch (2)

[A Few Weeks Ago - Long before Vexthra's speech]

"That is all I managed to gather after scanning through their memories over and over again. I think we are good to go as far as 300,000-year-old info still holds some accuracy," Zaila said, standing up from a lotus posture.

Her sisters supported her since she had spent weeks going through the memories of the five souls they had gotten from Neveross.

She wanted to make sure when the time came, and they attacked the Grim Arcane Legends, they wouldn't be walking into a trap. Naturally, they knew the information they had was only half complete.

The five people that Neveross had kept alive weren't that high-ranking in the organization, so the information they had wasn't much to cover the complete hierarchy of the Grim Arcane Legends.

However, the main thing was that they had helped identify where the main stronghold was and how to get there.

That alone was what the ladies needed.

The rest would be them attacking, and hopefully, they would be able to get to the core of this nefarious organization and dismantle it completely.

"That is good enough, Zaila. Rest for now. I will meet with Crimson Dagger and give him the updated information so he and his people can prepare accordingly."

Zaila nodded at Vexthra's words and left to go have a nice bath and rest.

They would soon be going into battle, and so she needed some rest to better prepare her mind for what she had to do when the time came.

A few days later, Vexthra met Crimson Dagger in the same restaurant and gave him everything they had found. After he went through it all, he let out a sigh.

"The main stronghold sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. At least the other two outposts only have Pseudo-Primordials guarding them. We can easily assassinate them and kill the rest. However, four Primordials—that is a lot of danger, my Lady."

Vexthra smiled and said:

"We already have counters for the Primordials. Even if there are more than four, we will be fine. Our only problem now is the event that the two great families backing them send reinforcements.

"If that were to happen, then things would become a bit more complex for us. Of course, if we manage to locate the person we are trying to save before that happens, we will retreat and attack them later."

Crimson Dagger nodded.

"That sounds like a good plan. I have already assembled a powerful team of assassins. At most, it would take a few hours to completely clear the two outposts, so you can rest assured that no help will come from those two outposts.

"However, as you said, the two great families might send help. Based on what we know, any reinforcements will take between 5 and 10 hours to arrive, which is more than enough time to find the person you are looking for.

"If she is found, then kindly retreat and regroup with us. With our combined numbers, I am sure we can even hold back any reinforcements that would be sent to them."

Vexthra nodded. "We will move fast then and hopefully get things done as fast as we can."

After a few more talks, Vexthra handed two communication jades to Crimson Dagger. "I will issue the attack command through this. Since we don't want the enemy to call for help, we have to attack at the same time."

He received them, and soon, he was gone.

A week later, all three teams were ready to move.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Eastern Celestial Zone, Liora sat in a wagon, hands bound in chains, dirt on some parts of her skin. Around her, several others, also in chains, sat, some crying while others wore the looks of people who had given up.

Clearly, they knew where they were being taken; returning was only a dream they could entertain for a fleeting moment before reality set in.

That said, Liora looked calm, perhaps too calm for someone being taken to be branded a slave and forever stripped of her free will.

A few hours later, a large gap opened in the middle, allowing the wagon to enter. The moment it passed through, it closed.

Of course, if they had paid attention, they would have noticed the runes Liora released just before the wagon entered the gate.

A mysterious smile appeared on her face. A few minutes later, the wagon stopped, and the gates were opened.

"Come out, you miserable scums," a guard with the cultivation base of a True God shouted, causing many to cry out in fear. However, no amount of tears could save them, and so after a few minutes of crying, they stopped.

"Better. I like it when they finally accept their fate," the guards laughed, causing some to tear up again.

"Listen up," the guard shouted again, and everyone quieted down....

"You are all here simply because society no longer needs you, and so it has discarded you. Luckily for you, we are benevolent enough to take you in, and so first of all, be grateful that your miserable lives now hold some purpose.

"Second, you are now the property of the Grim Arcane Legends, and so you must heed our commands, else not only will you suffer, but your families out there will suffer more than you.

"Third, if somehow you prove to be a good slave, you may get to become one of us, allowing you to live some semblance of normalcy. Perhaps in a few years' time, you will get to finally become one of us."

He showed a tattoo of a skull with a hole through its forehead.

Liora noticed that all the guards she had seen had this tattoo.

"Lastly, some of you will be fortunate to leave here if your worth is high enough to fetch us some Celestial Crystals out there. Until then, welcome to the Grim Arcane Legends, and may your stay be great and prosperous."

The grin on his face widened, making many of the slaves lower their heads and cry some more.

Liora stood with a calm smile, but inwardly she was talking to her sisters, who were ready and only waiting for her signal...

'I am now in, but I have yet to be assigned to my post. Once that happens, I will activate the formation and inform you so you can teleport over.'

'Okay, Liora, and be careful.'
