Chapter 1924 Revenge Is a Bitch (9)

The crack widened, and soon, the void exploded open.

Through the opening, the tip of a large sword appeared, and soon its colossal length was revealed.

Many narrowed their eyes, wearing stunned and shocked expressions. Some even held their jaws wide open, while others barely contained their bewildered looks.

While the sword was indeed large and imposing enough to warrant a reaction from everyone, it was the person standing on it who left them all in shock.

A bald child, no older than 13, stood on the sword, looking tiny. In each hand, he held three candy sticks while he munched on some.

The moment the sword was fully out of the void, it closed, and whatever pressure he came with vanished.

The five monarchs narrowed their eyes at Baldy, each trying to examine whether he was a threat.

After all, while many chose to maintain their youth as they climbed the ladder of cultivation, no matter how young they looked, the moment you looked at them, you knew they were actually very old.

Baldy appeared young, and the feeling he gave off was also childlike.

Naturally, for him to give off such an aura only meant he was indeed that young, a mere child. That, however, was impossible because a child of his age shouldn't even be able to cultivate, let alone open and close void portals.

This meant he was a mystery, and as people whose line of work was shrouded in the dark, they could not have a mystery among their ranks, not when their strongest weapon was down at the moment.

When he saw that everyone was looking, he smiled and waved. However, since he had candy sticks in both hands, he was practically waving them in their faces.

Baldy smiled widely and said, "Sorry, everyone, for coming late. I was lost, you see."

"I wonder who this senior is," Monarch Solran asked. For the time being, he chose to address Baldy as such since he didn't know if he was an ancient expert or a lost child.

He could not offend an expert at the moment.

Baldy smiled, took a bite of his candy, and said, "My name is Baldy, and yes, that is my name. Of course, you can already guess why I am called that. Long story short, my name is Baldy."

"Then, Sir Baldy, may I ask if you are here for my birthday? My name is Monarch Solran, and these are the elders of the Grim Arcane Legends: Monarch Voron, the founder, Monarch Drakonis, Monarch Aethros, and Monarch Nexus."

Baldy nodded. "Nice to meet you all, and as I have already said, my name is Baldy, and yes, I am here for the birthday. However, I am also here for something else."

"May I ask what this senior wants? If it is within my power, I will give it willingly."

A grin appeared at the corner of Baldy's lips. "Oh, I am sure it is within your reach. You see, I have many big sisters and brothers, so you can say I am a pampered younger brother. They all buy me candy, so I love them all.

Recently, one of my big sisters became sad, and so I asked what was wrong, and apparently, her little sister had been kidnapped by some very bad people.

Of course, I asked around, and after weeks, I was pointed to this place."

Baldy moved his head forward and asked, "Monarch Solran, you wouldn't happen to have come into possession of this lady, would you?"

Baldy pointed his candy up, and a portrait of Inkala appeared in the air.

The moment Monarch Solran's eyes landed on it, his expression changed. He frowned and subconsciously turned and looked at the carriage he had looked at when he made his speech a few hours ago.

"Judging by the look on your face, I'd say you have her." Baldy narrowed his eyes and asked, "May I ask if it would be possible for you to hand her back to me so I can give her to my sister? She would be very happy to have her back."

Monarch Solran frowned even more...

Then his expression turned bitter, and the aura around him began to change. Baldy sensed that the other four monarchs had also begun circulating their energies.

"Ah, it appears you big boys don't want to give me face." Baldy sat down on his sword and chuckled. "Tell you this. A while back, I had a dream, the first dream I had ever had.

In the dream, I saw a man with golden-red eyes standing on a pile of dead bodies, looking proud and powerful. Each body belonged to a powerhouse capable of destroying this universe with a clap of its hands.

Yet this man stood on their dead bodies. That sight, to this very day, terrifies me, but it also made me come to a conclusion."

"And what is that?" Monarch Solran asked.

"In this universe, there are those who think that just because they hold power, they are invincible. They believe they can step on others and do as they please simply because they are Overlords, Monarchs, even.

However, if you step out beyond the borders of this universe, you will see that you are mere bugs on a very deadly battlefield, one that only true warriors dare to walk on.

A long time ago, a lady stood before thousands of enemies and, single-handedly, fought the horde, even giving her life to ensure the innocent would be protected.

With her dying breath, she asked the universe for one thing: 'to protect my sister'. That sister is now being held against her will, and so I will ask one more time, 'Hand over Lady Inkala, and we will call it a day.'"

"And what if we say no?" This time, it was Monarch Voron who spoke. His words caused thousands to reach for their weapons.

Baldy smiled and shook his head. "Very shortsighted." He stood up and stretched.

"Then you give me no choice but to annihilate the Grim Arcane Legends."

"And how are you going to do that? By yourself?" Monarch Voron asked.

"No, you big, dumb, stupid old man. I have big sisters and brothers, remember?"

Shadows moved, and in the blink of an eye, 5000 members lost their heads. Before anyone could react, a deep, commanding voice came from the clouds.

"Here I come,"
