Chapter 1926 Revenge Is a Bitch (11)

[Five Days Ago]

'Liora, what is going on out there?' Vexthra asked, speaking directly into Liora's head.

After killing Grandmaster Kaba and his immediate guards, turning them into undead and then releasing them back into the stronghold, Liora returned again to gather more information with the help of their new allies.

The more they knew, the better they could plan before attacking.

'The guests started showing up yesterday. Today alone, I counted 10 Pseudo-Primordials and close to 300 Celestials arriving,' Liora replied.

'What about Primordials? Aside from those two from the De Marcus Great Family and Weyori Great Family, have any other Primordials shown up?'

'No, big sister. I have kept watch, but so far, none have—' Liora wasn't done with her response when a storm formed, and from within the storm, a man with dark green hair appeared.

'Well, a third Primordial has just shown up,' Liora reported, dampening the mood of her sisters and the rest of the legion. They knew the chances of these people fighting for the Grim Arcane Legends were high. After all, they were allies.

So hearing that another Primordial had shown up made them frown.

'Describe him,' Pandora instructed, and Liora did.

'He is not much older than a mortal in their 40s. He has dark green shoulder-length hair, and from the look of things, he has an affinity for lightning. Aside from that, he has ten swords hovering behind him.'

'Ten swords. He reminds me of a friend from the past,' Eliza said, and Ruby nodded.

'Same here.'

The two ladies looked at each other for a few seconds before asking, 'Liora, share your sight with us.'

Liora didn't mind and did as she was told. Soon, the two ladies could see what Liora could see.

'I knew it. It is indeed that bastard,' Ruby said with a frown.

'What is Zhai doing here?' Eliza also frowned. 'Don't tell me that after Master and a few of us died, he turned to the dark side.'

'I am not so sure about that. The Zhai we both know is someone who knows good from bad. If he is here, I am sure it is not to support these people.'

'We will never know until we meet him. But I know one thing: even if he has joined the dark side, he would not hurt us, so we might not have to worry about him aiding the Grim Arcane Legends. The other two, however, are a different story.'

[Present Day]

Sect Master Zhai stood up and stretched.

"I didn't expect to see you here today, Ruby. I came today for the Nine Dragon Whip Goddess," Sect Master Zhai said, looking directly at Ruby with a grin at the corner of his lips.

"Oh, do tell, but why did you come for Meiko?"

"She and I have an unfinished battle, so I came to meet her here today since I knew she would show up."

Ruby and some of her sisters furrowed their brows. "So you knew Inkala was her sister, huh? If you had known, why didn't you rescue her?"

"And why would I do that? It is five Primordials against one. I hate those odds."

Ruby smirked and turned to look at the two Primordials, Lord Weyori and Lord Marcus... "How about two against one?"

"Much better odds. But why should I help you?"

Ruby smirked. "Because if you don't, Master will be mad, and when he is mad, bad things happen."

"Fair point." Sect Master Zhai turned and looked at the two patriarchs. "You have two choices: turn around and leave now, and I will not follow, or stay, and I will be forced to draw my swords. And if you have heard about me, you know whenever I draw my sword, blood flows like a river."

"Sect Master Zhai, what is the meaning of this?" Lord Weyori asked, his expression dark.

"Sorry to step on your toes, Lord Weyori, but this annoying lady happens to have been my teammate during the Flame Era. We fought together, and so, as an old comrade, when she asked for help, I could not turn her down. Plus, you heard her, my master is the unreasonable kind. He might take my head if I don't help them.

So take the first offer and walk away, or else none of you will be leaving here alive today... maybe one of you will."

"Hmmm, a mere child thinks he is mighty before me," Lord Marcus said, drawing a large sword... "Let's see who leaves here alive today."

Just then, the void exploded open, and Meiko stepped out instantly, bringing pressure so great that even the Primordials felt it.

"Leave him to me." Before Vexthra and her sisters could stop her, she moved, and the next second, she and Lord Marcus vanished into the void.

"Looks like the one who will be dying today is you, Old Weyori." Sect Master Zhai extended his hand, and one sword moved from his back and landed in his firm grip.

"Let's dance." They also vanished into the void.

And just like that, all seven Primordials who could have made things hard for Vexthra and her team had been taken off the chessboard.

"Kill them all, every last one of them!" Vexthra issued the order, and the long-awaited battle began. All the legions moved, Kaizo leading the charge.

He charged toward one of the 25 Sages who was already at the peak of the Pseudo-Primordial stage. Kaizo had no fear in his eyes as he moved.

Watching a mere demigod charge toward him, he sneered and extended his hand, summoning a spear.

"Die, you bug!" He stabbed forward, and Kaizo met his attack with a powerful punch, lightning dancing across his fist and surging through his eyes.

BOOOM!

The two attacks collided, and Kaizo was pushed back ten steps while the Sage moved back eight steps. The overconfident Sage frowned, realization dawning on him.

Kaizo smiled. "Yes, a demigod did that. Before you die, remember my name. I am Kaizo, the right-hand man of the Legendary Primordial Chaos Dragon."

RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

The sky darkened, and from within, golden lightning surged, bringing powerful pressure down on the Sage. Kaizo's fist and entire arm were soon covered in lightning.

He then took a powerful leap and vanished into the storm.

A second later, his voice was heard, and the Sage felt his soul tremble.

"Here I come."
