Chapter 995: Taming Quest (6)
Chapter 995: Taming Quest (6)
"Great job, everyone," Vexthra said, walking toward the church of destruction that had now lost its value thanks to her team killing every last member.
"You all have performed remarkably well despite the odds we came against. That is especially true for Neomi, Sylara, and Veydris."
Everyone nodded, knowing the second phase of the battle was won thanks to the three Vexthra mentioned.
Veydris didn’t require these forms of praise simply because he was incapable of feeling emotions or expressing them.
However, Irina seemed to have some ways of making him appear human. So perhaps she would thank him better later.
Vexthra reached into the tower storage and retrieved a set of keys.
Kent gave her permission to do that, so she was able to access the tower storage. The keys she retrieved were the rewards for completing the quest.
They couldn’t use the tower points or the soul essence, so the only thing they were eligible to use was the Limit Breaker Key, which each of them would receive, including Vexthra.
Kent’s wives had already broken nine limits. This meant they were still too far from breaking the 30 limits required of someone in a high world.
There was no limit in a medium world, but considering all factors, the highest a person could achieve in a medium world was 18.
However, with the Limit Breaker Key, they would each move one step closer to that.
The Undead and Eternal Wrath Legion had only broken six each, with Lady Enzi breaking seven and Lady Liora breaking twelve, simply because she was from a high world and had only been suppressed by the rules of a medium world.
"These are Limit Breaker Keys. Just press them against your forehead, and a limit will be broken for you."
To Kent’s wives and his legion, this was normal to them, but to Lady Enzi and Liora, it felt like they had just heard something very ridiculous.
Vexthra saw their expressions and smiled, "Welcome to Kent’s world, where the impossible is just a normal word for us."
The two ladies smiled, unsure of how to handle this. In the end, they each swore to never leave Kent’s side.
Naturally, Vexthra saw this and knew they were cooked.
’Lucky bastard. Even without opening his mouth, he had locked down two beauties.’ Vexthra smirked.
---
Sneeze
’Somebody clearly is annoyed with me at the moment,’ Kent said inwardly as he flew beside Sylvara and Orvath.
’If I didn’t know better, I would say Vexthra is plotting against me. I’d better reward her well when I go back.’
After saying that, Kent drew his attention to the vast lava lake that had appeared in the distance. Its surface was covered in blooming violet flames, almost like lotus flowers.
"Beautiful," Kent muttered, and Sylvara smirked.
"The Inferno Lake is indeed beautiful. Too bad the owner is a bitch," Sylvara said, making sure Kent knew she had no plans on playing nice with Zeraphine, who she knew was already aware they were coming.
Kent laughed and then assured her that nothing would happen between him and this Lotus Empress.
Orvath didn’t say much, but even with his bull mind, he could tell the relationship between Kent and Sylvara was more than that of a master and his tamed beast.
To him, getting to awaken his Innate Beast Body one day was the goal; what Sylvara does with her body is none of his business.
After three hours, they finally entered the Inferno Lake.
However, they came to a stop as soon as they entered the area. A person was blocking their path with a smug smile on her face.
Kent raised his brow, seeing the ethereal beauty with violet hair cascading like flame petals. She had lotus markings glowing on her skin, almost like tattoos.
She wore a smug smile as she hovered before them.
"Orvath darling, why did you bring these two to my domain?" Zeraphine asked, her violet eyes gleaming with mischief.
Kent instantly felt something was amiss. However, he remained cool and prepared inwardly for anything.
Orvath looked at the Lotus Empress and sighed, "This is Lord Kent. He had me escort him here because he has something to discuss with you."
"Oh, I never expected the great Orvath to address a mere human as a Lord." Zeraphine smirked, "Makes me wonder what this bitch calls him."
Sylvara’s gaze turned cold, hearing the plain disrespect. However, before she could snap, Kent placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled.
"She is not worth it, dear. She thinks positioning Kaelith 20 kilometers away would make any difference."
Zeraphine’s gaze turned cold when she heard what Kent said.
"Kill him."
Before Orvath and Sylvara could react, a streak of blue light flashed and appeared before Kent.
"No."
They reached out, but the light moved and slammed into the violet sea, and Kent was gone.
"KENT!"
Sylvara’s aura exploded, pushing Orvath and Zeraphine several kilometers back. She transformed into her beast form and dove into the sea of flames.
"What?"
Zeraphine’s eyes widened when she saw Sylvara’s beast form. However, before she could do anything, Orvath blocked her path.
"You may have just cost yourself a chance to awaken your Innate Beast Body."
Zeraphine’s heartbeat slowed down as a regretful expression appeared on her face. However, it was already too late to take any action.
Meanwhile, deep underground, Kaelith held Kent by the throat as they moved several feet down.
A couple of days ago, when Kent used his bloodline, Kaelith, who was rather infatuated with Zeraphine, decided to come and make sure she was alright.
In the past, whenever he visited Zeraphine’s domain, he would either leave with flame attacks coming at him or Zeraphine would outright ignore him.
However, this time, when he arrived, Zeraphine gave him an offer he couldn’t resist. With Zeraphine’s power, she knew the danger that she felt would soon come to her, so she asked Kaelith to kill Kent for her, and in return, she would allow him to visit her domain once every year.
The simp Kaelith accepted her offer, and so he lay in wait for when Kent would arrive.
Now, he had gotten his hand on the person who would secure him a chance to spend a full day with the one he loved.
However, as they moved deeper into the lava pool, Kaelith couldn’t help feeling like Kent was mocking him. After all, a smirk tugged on the corner of Kent’s lips.
Even by beast standards, that was clear provocation.
"What is funny, human?" Kaelith asked.
"Nothing," Kent replied, still maintaining his smirk.
"Then why do you have the smirk on your face?"
"Oh, this," Kent pointed at his smirk, and then he pointed behind Kaelith, "It is because of that."
Kaelith turned his back only to see a magnificent snake speeding toward him.
He had no time to react before a hand slapped him across the face.
Sylvara, who used her beast form to close the distance much faster, transformed into her human form and landed a slap that sent Kaelith flying several miles away.
Kent was yanked from his grip when the slap landed on his face, so Sylvara caught him.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Did he do something to you..."
Sylvara asked a series of questions, a worried look on her face as she examined to see if Kent was hurt in any way.
Kent could only smile and kiss her to tell her he was fine. However, seeing how overprotective Sylvara had become, his heart melted.
"I am fine, my love... I knew you would come to my rescue, so I wasn’t worried."
Sylvara smiles cutely, and a blush appears on her cheek...
