Chapter 1693: Undead Legion (1)
Chapter 1693: Undead Legion (1)
When Kent arrived at the Legion Tower with the ladies, he discovered that Kaizo and some of the guys had ventured into a dungeon and had yet to return. So, out of the 12 undead legions under his command, only four were present.
He decided to wait for them since he came for all of them. Out of the 12 undead, seven were female, and five were male.
Kent didn’t know why that was at first, considering he personally created only three of them: Kaizo, Vaelros, and Sylara. The rest were all created by Gaia and her sisters.
However, now that his memories of Sanders had returned and he could recall what he had done in the past, none of this bothered him anymore.
He had already come to understand that, for the next couple of years, as long as his memories kept returning, everything happening in his life would be by design.
However, one day, he would reach the point where it would all end. From there, he could progress on his own terms, not one designed by his past lives.
But then again, the whole idea of reincarnation was for this very moment, so he had nothing to worry about.
After waiting for a few hours, Kaizo and the others returned, having cleared half of the dungeon. They planned to continue exploring the rest later.
He proceeded to inform all of them of his plans for them, and, as expected, Kaizo was over the moon upon hearing that he would be getting his upgrade early.
"Really, Master? We are getting an upgrade?"
Kent smiled and nodded.
"Yes, buddy. It’s time for you, 12, to start walking the path you once tread in the past. Once I fully awaken your bloodlines and innate bodies, you will understand everything. For now, let’s upgrade you all."
They all nodded at Kent’s words. Since they could not truly die unless Kent died, there was nothing to fear.
Kent sighed, and then he placed the bones at the feet of all 12 undead.
Kaizo stood in the first position because he was the first undead Kent had ever created. He was also the very first undead Kent created back when he was the Bone Lich Emperor.
So, he began with him.
Zareth was second.
In the past, he had been created from the bones of the Alabaster World Serpent and the Obsidian Void Dragon. Sanders (Kent’s necromancer incarnation) and Kaizo had endured countless hardships just to secure those bones.
When he was created, he emerged extraordinarily powerful and possessed the ability to summon those two deadly beast spirits.
He could also transform into a hybrid form that combined both beasts, raising his combat prowess to terrifying heights.
The third undead was Sylara, the Vampire Demoness, one of the deadliest assassins Sanders had ever created.
She was born from the bones of a deadly vampire warrior whose claws were as sharp and lethal as finely forged daggers.
As for the single eye she possessed in her true form, that was the result of a later modification involving a terrifying one-eyed demon capable of unleashing devastating beams from its eye.
Sylara was naturally deadly, but after undergoing those modifications, she became even more terrifying. Now, she was awakening to reclaim the power that once made her feared across countless worlds.
The fourth was, of course, Vaelros, the Chained Demon. His power revolved around chains. As long as a chain remained in his grasp, nobody could get past him.
He was created from the remains of the Chain-Tormented Wolf, a deadly beast said to have been personally chained by the Primordial Chaos Dragon during the Primordial Era.
The beast eventually died, and Sanders somehow acquired some of its bones, which he used to create Vaelros.
As for the rest of the undead, Elyndra, the Voidweaver Sorceress, stood in the fifth position. Her affinity for the void, space, souls, and arcane magic stemmed from the ancient creatures whose bones had been used in her creation.
Her true power remained a mystery even now, but one thing was certain—she was deadly. Kent wanted her back at his side once more for what he had planned in the future.
Morne stood in the sixth position. Her power came from the moon, shadows, curses, and Death Arts. Back in the day, she was both incredibly dangerous and undeniably badass.
Velmora stood in the seventh spot, while Varkhiel occupied the eighth. These two were created on the same day, making them twins, in a sense.
Sanders created them from the same source of bones, yet their personalities could not have been more different.
Velmora was proud and arrogant, while Varkhiel was quiet, patient, and calculating.
And that was precisely what made them so dangerous.
Seraphyne stood in the ninth position, while Velithra occupied the tenth. Long before her bones were used to create an undead, Seraphyne was a princess of an ancient Elven race.
Her family personally entrusted her remains to Sanders, who used her likeness and many of her original traits when creating her.
It had been one of the few moments in his past where Sanders was treated as a person rather than a monster or an undead.
Selantra occupied the eleventh position, and finally, Varyn, the Voidblade Knight, stood in the twelfth.
In this order, the first twelve undead Sanders had ever created were about to receive a complete makeover.
With the materials Kent was using, he expected every single one of them to emerge stronger, deadlier, and far more powerful than before.
The moment all the materials had been prepared, the [Undead Staff] appeared in his hand, and his appearance shifted into that of a red-haired half-elf.
He began muttering strange and ancient words.
A few minutes into the ritual, different colored cocoons formed around all twelve undead. The moment the cocoons fully materialised, the bones lying before their feet rose into the air and merged with them.
The bones dissolved quickly into cocoons, and the transformation began.
In the past, Sanders had created over sixty thousand undead, but among them, he had ensured that sixty-nine were crafted from some of the most powerful remains discovered during that era.
Just as Kaizo had been created from the remains of a Divine Angelic Titan, every one of those sixty-nine undead owed their existence to Sanders’ relentless pursuit of power and excellence.
Now, twelve of them were returning to him.
The rest would follow once he located the bones that the tower and the quest pools that Tower had pointed out to him earlier today.
Some of them were hidden within the Undead Realm, while others were located in terrifying places where he would have to fight for what he sought.
In essence, he was rebuilding his undead legion from the ground up.
And, as always, Kaizo was the first undead with whom he began.
