Chapter 1696: Undead Legion (4)
Chapter 1696: Undead Legion (4)
Varyn, Morne, Selantra, Seraphyne, Varkhiel, Velithra, and Velmora appeared in the air, each oozing the power of Demigods at their peak.
Already, Kaizo and the others had emerged as Demigods, so the seven coming out as Demigods wasn’t too shocking.
However, what Kent never expected was that all seven of them would evolve at the same time. He didn’t know why that happened, since it had never happened before. However, he didn’t dwell much on it either.
The most important thing was that all twelve undead under his command had evolved into powerful warriors. Now, aside from his Beast Legion, he had twelve more demigod-level undead he could rely on to handle missions for him.
Varyn was the Voidblade Knight.
His presence and appearance radiated knighthood. Naturally, he had been a knight before becoming the Voidblade Knight. When Sanders stumbled upon the remains of a dead knight, he didn’t put much thought into it.
However, when he cast the Undead Eye spell on the remains, he saw just how powerful the bones were. So he collected them all, and a year later, Varyn returned as a legendary knight capable of wielding both Flame and Void.
His affinity for flames came from a treasure Sanders added during his creation, while the Void affinity was because his bones had been tempered with Void Essence long before he died.
He rode a Void Horse into battle, and every time he arrived on the battlefield, blazing trails of fire were left in his wake. Now, he had returned as that legendary knight.
Selantra, the Lunar Warden, also stood among the seven undead clad in obsidian armor. Golden glyphs were engraved throughout the armor, making it stand out, while a sleek helmet rested on her head.
She had golden, star-like eyes, and a living shadow cloak billowed behind her.
Just like Val, she could also channel the power of the moon.
In fact, both her primary and secondary classes allowed her to harness lunar power. She possessed a class called [Lunar Warden] and a secondary class called [Moon Warlock].
Basically, she had been created from the remains of a being whose understanding of the Moon had reached an all-time high.
Now, she had returned as a Demigod at her peak, who knew when her Crescent Half Moon Strike would appear again. That skill was her favorite and her best. Each arc channels so much moon qi that it decimates armies.
Velithra also stood calmly, oozing the cultivation of a demigod at the peak, her fingers playing with her bow. They called her the Umbral Archer because, according to the stories, she came and went as she pleased, and her arrows carried the power of darkness.
She has the Umbral Archer class and affinity for Shadow and Void, both at the absolute stage.
Basically, she was a Dark Elf with the bloodline of a Shadow Cat. She was one of those creations that came about after mixing a lot of things together. Yet Velithra was a deadly archer, and her affinity for Darkness and Void made her even more dangerous.
Seraphyne also stood among the group, clad in jagged abyss-black armor adorned with thousands of violet runic engravings.
A horned, faceless helmet rested on her head, giving her a demonic, intimidating appearance. However, the truly frightening part came from her glowing purple eyes, which shone through the darkness of the helmet.
She possessed the [Shadow Warlord] class, a powerful class that granted her dominion over shadows. In the past, she was known as a one-woman army because of her ability to summon Shadow Fiends from the Shadow Realm to fight under her command.
It was one of her deadliest abilities and one that had earned her countless victories. Now, as a demigod at the peak, Kent knew even true gods would fear him.
Kent already had plans to take her along when he explored the Shadow Realm for real this time.
Varkhiel, the Shadowflame Reaver, stood with his lean body and hair completely engulfed in flames. In fact, he looked more like Ghost Rider than an undead.
Then again, an undead was simply someone who had died yet continued to live.
A smile rested on his face as he gazed down at everyone.
"This bastard, does he always have to keep the flames burning for no reason?" Zareth cursed, annoyed by the shameless way Varkhiel constantly tried to make himself look cool.
Varkhiel possessed affinities for both Void and Flame. However, his flame was somewhat special.
His flame originated from a bygone race said to have existed before Hell itself came into being.
This race was believed to be the original masters of Hellfire, and the flame Varkhiel wielded ranked among their five greatest flames. In other words, his flame was a Sacred Flame, just like Kent’s Nirvana Flame.
So while he often used it to enhance his appearance, the truth was that it remained one of the most dangerous flames in existence. Furthermore, his affinity with it had already reached the Absolute Stage.
Now that he had become a Demigod, and considering the terrifying nature of his flame, he ranked among the three most dangerous undead under Kent’s command at the moment.
Velmora, the Reaper Empress, remained the most mysterious of all twelve undead.
She stood clad in jet-black Gothic armor, its surface lined with bone-etched engravings. Crimson veins of light coursed across the armor, while a torn black-and-red cloak billowed behind her. Beneath the hood, a faint crimson glow illuminated the darkness.
She was also a Peak Demigod.
All Sanders knew when he acquired her bone at an auction was that she had lived during the Primordial Era and fought in the Great War. When a primordial rift opened eras later, explorers ventured inside and discovered her tomb, stealing one of her bones.
According to the auctioneer, the words engraved upon the tomb wall read:
"Here lie the remains of the Reaper Emperors, the ones whose blades know death."
Those words moved Sanders deeply, and he fought tooth and nail to obtain the bone.
Years later, he fused it with souls and shadows, creating Velmora.
She possessed Absolute Affinities in Death, Souls, and Shadows.
"How many of you have heard of the Reaper Empress?" Kent suddenly asked, turning toward his wives who had lived during the Primordial Era.
Although the universe was vast and the chances of any of them knowing her were slim, he still asked.
To his surprise, Dia raised her hand.
Dia had been Unity’s sister during the Primordial Era. Although she later became Kent’s Heart Demon, she had lived longer than Artemis, Unity’s previous incarnation, so she knew more than Unity.
"The Reaper Empress was a legendary warrior renowned for her scythe arts," Dia began. "She lived on an island called Blood River, and yes, the water there is actually red."
"From what I know, the river’s water was originally blue. However, after it was discovered that a natural Blood Pool existed on the island, two tribes composed of powerful Demigods, Gods, and even Supremes attempted to seize it from her."
"She killed every last one of them."
"Their blood dyed the river red, and from that day onward, nobody dared approach the island again."
"I don’t know what happened afterward, but from everything I heard, she was truly legendary."
Kent smiled.
"Thanks, Dia."
"Why did you ask?" Unity questioned.
"I asked because the bone I used to create Velmora came from the Reaper Empress. That’s why Velmora was also known as the Reaper Empress during the Undead Era."
The ladies nodded.
If this had happened before Kent revealed the truth about his many lives, they would have been shocked to discover yet another secret hidden within him.
However, things were different now.
His monstrous nature had long since become normal to them.
In a sense, they now viewed him as an anomaly, so very little about him could surprise them anymore.
Then again, they still hadn’t met every version of him yet.
