Chapter 3100: I’ll Probably End Up as Your Sister-In-Law
The call connected, and Ning Shu said coldly, “Gong Fu, where’s my mom?”
“No idea.”
Gong Fu’s voice was frigid and full of contempt as she spoke.
Ning Shu let out a mocking laugh. “And here I thought you siblings were close. My mom’s in your hands, and your brother’s staying with me.
“I’m thinking if he stays much longer, I’ll probably end up as your sister-in-law,” Ning Shu added deliberately, just to provoke her.
“You’re delusional. Who the hell do you think you are?” Gong Fu snapped. Her voice seethed with fury and disdain.
“Anyway, you’d better hurry and come get your brother. He said if you don’t show up, he’s going to be so sad that he’d start a livestream and jump off a building.”
Gong Rong: …
“Fine. Where do you want to meet?” Her voice was colder than ever.
“Hm, I’ll tell you at midnight. I want to see my mom, and she’d better be completely unharmed.”Ning Shu hung up.
Gong Rong shook his head. “Fu’er is just too young and impulsive. It’s good that you’re polishing her a bit.”
Ning Shu gave a short laugh. “Using me as a whetstone? Let’s just hope your blade doesn’t snap in the end.”
A cold smirk curled on Ning Shu’s lips as she narrowed her eyes at Gong Rong. Maybe she wouldn’t win, but there was no way the Gong siblings were going to win either.
Her stare made Gong Rong uneasy.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asked.
Ning Shu replied mildly, “You look older again.”
Gong Rong paused for a moment, then laughed. “I’ll always be eighteen.”
“Hm. Keeping a youthful, girlish heart is a good thing.”
Ning Shu dragged Gong Rong back to the motel.
On the way, she bought some food to take back and eat.
Gong Rong’s diet was extremely light, and his appetite was tiny. He ate like a bird.
He and Ning Shu made a striking contrast.
These days, Ning Shu still ate a lot, but now she did it with poise.
Gong Rong watched her eat in astonishment. “This is the first time I’ve seen a woman eat this much.”
Ning Shu’s expression was full of ridicule as she replied, “Wow, you must live under a rock. Talking worldview as someone who hasn’t even seen the whole world—what a joke…”
Gong Rong set down his chopsticks. The food in his bowl was barely touched.
Ning Shu asked, “You eat so little. How’d you even grow this big?”
“Eating is a hassle. I usually get injections,” Gong Rong replied.
Ning Shu shrugged. Injecting nutrients directly into the body reduced strain on the digestive organs and could slow the aging of the internal organs. It made sense for him to do that.
What she couldn’t figure out was why Gong Rong’s organs were aging in the first place.
Of course, she had no intention of saving him. As long as he didn’t die while in her custody, that was enough.
Not that she could save him anyway.
After eating, Ning Shu sat cross-legged on the bed, digesting and conserving her energy, preparing for the night ahead.
Gong Rong obediently lay down next to her and slept.
He seemed to be growing more and more lethargic.
While Ning Shu cultivated, she also kept an eye on the time.
At eight o’clock that evening, she nudged Gong Rong awake.
“It’s time for the exchange.”
She took Gong Rong and headed to a large shopping mall.
It was summer, and as night fell, the streets lit up brightly. A lot of people had flocked to the mall for the air conditioning.
The crowd would make Gong Fu more hesitant to act.
Ning Shu hadn’t forgotten that the Gong family had armed forces at their disposal.
