Chapter 3171: The Second Type

Chapter 3171: The Second Type

“Not every man does such disgusting things,” Wen Xing said calmly.

Ning Shu glanced at Wen Xing sideways. “I think all of you are the same. Some of you are direct, while the rest of you just put on a façade.”

“That guy earlier was the direct type, someone who disgusts people outright. You, on the other hand, are the second type. You’re the type who tries to defend guys like him. You’re just trying to dress your ‘reproduction instinct’ and make it sound less repulsive.”

Wen Xing: …

“Has anyone told you that you’re a bit extreme? Haven’t you heard of even if you see the truth, let it lie?” Wen Xing said, slightly helplessly.

Ning Shu curled her lips. “You see the same things that I do, but you still try to sugarcoat it.”

“Everyone likes beautiful things, you know?” Wen Xing replied. “It’s important to keep yourself happy by seeing good things.”

Ning Shu nodded. “Is that so? Then why did you break up with your girlfriend?”

Wen Xing: …

He really couldn’t talk to her. She was so not cute!

“I think there’s no real difference in human worth, but there is a distinction between the higher-level people and the low-class people. That guy just now was clearly very low-class,” Ning Shu said with a shrug.

Wen Xing remained silent, not agreeing with her but also not denying it.

Another month passed, and it seemed like the matter with the monster was slowly fading.

Ning Shu and Wen Xing wandered around after work but still hadn’t found any sign of more monsters.

But neither dared to report that the situation was fully resolved. What if it wasn’t?

Who would take responsibility for that?

The future of an entire world was at stake. It was too much for anyone to bear, including them.

Wen Xing thought for a moment and said, “I think we should report this. In a world with countless living beings, it seems like this thing is looking for a host.”

“Yeah, I think we should just tell them the truth,” Ning Shu said after nodding in agreement. If they didn’t report it truthfully and something went wrong, they would have to bear great responsibility, should anything go wrong.

“I’ve had my system file a report,” Wen Xing said. “You should have your system file one too.”

Ning Shu paused for a moment, then quickly nodded. “Alright.”

“2333, file a report,” Ning Shu said to her system mentally.

“I already filed it before you even asked,” 2333 replied.

Ning Shu: →_→

“What did you say?” Ning Shu asked.

“I told the truth. I suspect this world is about to change, perhaps a different power system is evolving,” 2333 explained.

Would it be a humans versus giant sperm monsters situation?

“Evolution is a good thing, so why do the higher-ups seem so nervous about it?” Ning Shu asked, puzzled.

2333 thought for a moment. “They’re probably worried about the world accidentally destroying itself while evolving.”

“Especially since this thing is growing too fast and too big. It’s not in line with the rules, and the world might not be able to handle it,” 2333 added. “But this is just my guess. I don’t know if it happened because the natural order is out of control or if the world is really evolving.”

“Oh,” Ning Shu responded. “I didn’t know you were so knowledgeable.”

2333 said in a bashful tone. “This is just part of the system’s knowledge database. It’s not something I learned myself.”

“I really have bad luck, though. I had a world that just straight-up collapsed before, and now I have an evolving one. Looks like this time, things might go wrong again,” Ning Shu said. She sighed inwardly.

2333 quickly explained, “I honestly didn’t know this would happen. The task-taker who partnered with you this time, what’s his name again? He didn’t know either.

“You’ve got to believe me.”

Ning Shu replied, “I believe you.”

If she died, 2333 wouldn’t have it easy either.

“You’re answering too quickly. That means you don’t believe me.”

“Okay, I don’t believe you.”

“See? I knew you didn’t believe me,” 2333 said, almost tearfully.

“Scram…”

Ning Shu and Wen Xing waited for a higher-up to appear. Soon, the fragrant man appeared in front of them in a military uniform.

Ning Shu put away the beggar’s bowl in front of her and stuffed the money in it into her bag.
