In the blink of an eye, Ning Shu watched as her system space suddenly turned eerie and sinister. The roses and the lotuses in the pool withered and died.

Even the fish in the pool transformed into hideous creatures. They were as disgusting and terrifying as could be imagined.

The illusion had manifested.

Ning Shu reached out and grabbed the world stone. The black hole that had been resting against the wall floated toward her. It directly swallowed her arm that was holding the world stone, severing it completely as it devoured the stone.

Ning Shu looked at her missing arm, feeling a bit speechless. She used her soul power to manifest a new one.

The black hole was slowly changing. The entire system space began to vibrate.

Cracks even appeared on the walls. It was quite a massive commotion.

2333 hurriedly used energy to repair the cracks in the walls.

“The black hole is undergoing a metamorphosis,” it said to Ning Shu. “You need to brand your consciousness onto this world right now. Hurry!”

Ning Shu closed her eyes and released her spiritual energy, thrusting it into the black hole.

The changes occurring within the black hole were staggering. Mountains and plains rose from nothing. The world was expanding boundlessly, stretching as far as the eye could see and continuing to grow.

However, this world remained a murky gray. There were no living beings—only a vast, empty darkness.

Ning Shu could vaguely make out a mountain inside that looked like Mount Jiugong.

She tried to brand her consciousness into the black hole, but she couldn’t find a way to do it. The space seemed to be repelling her.

“Draw out a wisp of your soul origin,” 2333 said.

Soul origin was different from soul power. It was the fundamental essence of the soul. While soul power determined the strength of a soul, soul origin determined its integrity and completeness.

Ning Shu split a golden wisp of soul origin from her soul. It drifted into the black hole and merged with it completely.

With that, the black hole became a part of her. She no longer had to fear it devouring her soul power.

Ning Shu felt a surge of joy. She pointed her finger, and a black hole appeared before her. She stepped into it and vanished from the system space.

This new space was vast and filled with a thick mist. There appeared to be mountains, and the ground was covered in black sand and stone. It was a desolate, lifeless place permeated by a dark, somber energy.

Ning Shu walked across the sand. Every direction looked exactly the same, without any change or variation.

It was a world of absolute nothingness.

She thought about everything this thing had consumed. The soul pearls had merged into this black hole, and it had also swallowed other things since then.

As Ning Shu walked, she actually encountered several wandering spirits. These ghosts were walking aimlessly, seemingly unaware of where they were going.

Ning Shu thought for a moment and remembered the purple silk-like threads she had pulled from the world stone. She tossed those into the black hole as well. If they were beneficial, the space would absorb them. If not, she would just consider it throwing out the trash.

Although she wasn’t sure what would come of it, she had seemingly found a way to hide. If she could duck inside the black hole, that would be truly excellent.

Ning Shu even considered flaunting herself in front of the adjudicator just to see if she could escape being obliterated now.

“Will I die?” Ning Shu asked, looking at it sideways. She was afraid of death!

“I said it’s a simulation. How could you die? You won’t die.” As 2333 spoke, a sharp and powerful force surged toward Ning Shu’s face. She took a step back and entered the black hole. The entrance snapped shut, and she vanished from the space.

The bullet-like force slammed into the wall.

A black hole appeared in the air, and Ning Shu poked her head out. She looked around and asked 2333, “Did I dodge it?”

“It was a bit of a close call. If you truly encountered it, you might be wiped out before you even had a chance to hide in the black hole,” 2333 replied. “Your chances of escaping are only about twenty percent. Not even half.”

Ning Shu: …

So she would still have to run fast if she ever saw that man again. However, a twenty percent chance wasn’t insignificant. Maybe she would get lucky and escape.

Having some hope was better than having none at all.

Ning Shu stepped out of the black hole. She had gained a new way to save her life, which was worth celebrating. Perhaps she should go out for a massive meal.

She was still missing the earth, water, light, and dark attributes. Two of those attributes were currently in the process of hatching.

Holding the book, Ning Shu sat on the sofa and opened the chat system. She sent a message to Mei Ziqing to ask if they had hatched yet.

Mei Ziqing sounded testy when she replied. “No, no! The moment I get back, your message arrives. Can’t you give a person a moment of peace?”

“I’m just anxious. I’m anxious, okay?” Ning Shu said. “How is the hatching going?”

“It’s the same as before. There’s no change. Do you want to come see for yourself?” Mei Ziqing asked.

“I don’t dare wander around right now,” Ning Shu replied. “What if someone is camping out to catch me at the City of Water?”

Mei Ziqing felt that Ning Shu was definitely overthinking it.

“You’re right. If you want to meet me at the City of Water, I’ll be at the restaurant. Bring Xiao Huo along, and I’ll treat him to a meal.”

Ning Shu also realized she wasn’t significant enough for someone to wait for her.
