Raising My Trash Ability into a Broken SSS+ Rank Skill

Chapter 834: Deceiving

Chapter 834: Deceiving

There were many questions, but for now dealing with this situation was more important.

"Are you all anomalies?" After asking the question, the little girl returned to licking her candy.

There was silence for just a moment.

Vritra chuckled and patted her head. "Haha, where did you hear such a big word? Anomalies? But you shouldn’t say things like that, some adults won’t like it, okay?"

His response was natural, though Vritra wondered if this was a Level 6 demigod searching for anomalies.

There was no other explanation.

"This girl is cute, isn’t she? I wonder where she heard that." Vanessa spoke in a gentle tone.

No one else commented, merely smiling and looking at her. They didn’t want to overreact.

When one tries to act normal, the more abnormal each action seems. Even just smiling feels forced.

"Where is your house? Or your parents?" Vritra asked, while Divine flew up and spoke in a thoughtful tone.

"I believe she is just a normal girl from this planet, but maybe she is being controlled by a Level 6 demigod."

’Yeah, that is possible. Still, even if she isn’t dangerous, we have to hide our identities. Who knows where that Level 6 demigod is.’

"I don’t know. Are you not anomalies?" the girl asked again.

"Sigh, what is your name?" Vritra asked, a faint smile on his face.

"Anne," she replied.

"So Anne, why would you think we are anomalies? Wait, I think you don’t know its meaning. Anomaly means abnormal. Do we look abnormal to you?" Vritra said, but didn’t give her time to reply. He didn’t want to let that demigod control the direction of the conversation.

"Are we abnormal since we gave you food? Or because we chatted with you unlike others? Kiddo, not everyone is like that. There are good adults too. Well, you probably won’t understand all this, but you shouldn’t stop having faith in people."

Vritra said all that, but to himself it was complete nonsense.

Good people?

There were barely any left, especially in the bigger schemes of things.

Evelyn was different, maybe only toward Vritra, but he doubted most other powerful people even saw the weak as living beings.

’Divine is the perfect example of that,’ Vritra thought.

"Ugh, why drag me into this? I didn’t even say anything." Divine huffed, rolling his eyes.

"Hmm." The girl nodded, though she still looked confused.

On the other end, the woman named Anne, who was controlling the girl, sighed.

She had been searching for anomalies for a long time.

Anne truly felt she had gotten lucky this time. She had been certain there was one or more anomalies hidden within this group.

But now it seemed all her suspicions had been pointless.

She could only continue observing other people.

"Haha."

They all relaxed as the girl turned and began to walk away.

Vritra started talking about random things, the others also began to act naturally, and so did Diana...

She nodded and spoke:

"Meow."

"!!!"

The little girl’s steps came to a sudden halt.

That cute meow was so random amidst their conversation.

She turned and looked directly at Diana, her lips curling strangely and her eyes widening more than they should.

The goddess’s heartbeat increased.

She had forgotten about that damned bracelet.

She was merely replying normally, but her voice had come out as a meow.

Wasn’t that the perfect example of an anomaly?

They all cursed internally.

How had they forgotten about it?

"Did you say something?" The little girl’s tone became very strange as she took a step toward Diana.

"Whoa, what a way to mess things up. Bravo." Divine shook his head, wondering how they would get out of this.

Was a battle inevitable?

If that was the case, then their entire plan would be useless.

Running through possibilities rapidly, Yasmine was the first to come up with a solution.

She had been in many tense situations and could think clearly under pressure.

With a burst of confidence and a smile on her face, she spoke:

"Meow."

"..."

Everyone looked at Yasmine.

’Wait... are there two anomalies here?’ Anne wondered.

Although the Crown Bearer had set a rule that no one could enter the building during the day, there were always loopholes.

And Anne had the perfect loophole.

She could use this girl’s body to come here, though of course the girl would end up dead.

And the reason for her suspicion?

There were no pets such as dogs or cats on this planet.

So none of the natives should be aware of them.

The Level 6 demigods had arrived in the game before anyone else and had already done their research.

Only after learning what was normal here could they identify anomalies.

’Not to mention, that crown or whatever it is, is also somewhere in this building,’ she thought.

Anne could only see a golden dot from far away.

Only after coming here had she been able to sense the crown properly.

"Meow!" Fiona chimed in, pointing a finger upward and nodding as if saying, ’You are right.’

"Meow meow." Maeve shook her head, seemingly pointing something out.

"Meow?" Vanessa joined in, looking confused.

"Meow meow." Shitless hurriedly added, though his meow didn’t sound cute at all.

"What’s happening?" Anne was genuinely confused now.

Were they all anomalies?

Had they gathered in the same place?

She could tell these were different people, not one person controlling multiple bodies.

"Meow meow!" Onest smacked Shitless on the shoulder, scolding him.

"Meow." Vritra stopped their fight, pulling Shitless back.

"..."

Anne was sweating by this point.

She couldn’t understand anything.

"Meow." Yennefer added with a thoughtful expression.

"Meow." Teresa took a deep breath and did her part.

She wasn’t as quick to react as her sister, but she had understood the situation quickly enough.

’One, two, three... ten!! So all ten anomalies are here?’

Anne became excited.

How could all ten anomalies be so easy to find and so weak?

Wasn’t this game far too easy?

They could become Level 7 demigods just like that.

But just then...

"M-Meow."

Psyche, who was sitting farther away, raised his hand and spoke as if asking a question.

"Meow?" Vritra turned to face him, waiting for the question.

"Ughhh."

Anne was practically pulling her hair out now.

What the hell was happening here?

How had all of them suddenly transformed into cats?

There couldn’t possibly be eleven anomalies...

’I must be wrong. Maybe it is some custom of this place...’

Anne was so annoyed that she didn’t want to hear another meow from them.

Turning around, she quickly walked away.

The whole group heaved a long sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from their foreheads.

"We almost got caught..." Maeve slumped back in her seat, but Diana immediately smacked her on the head.

"Ouch."

Maeve held her head and looked at Diana, who was glaring at her.

"W-What? Why are you hitting me? It wasn’t my idea to make that bet, nor did I put that bracelet on you. I only defeated you at the end. How is that my fault?" Maeve rubbed her head, pouting and feeling wronged.

"O-Oh, sorry. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have done something like this before such a dangerous event." Teresa apologized and quickly stood up.

She removed the bracelet and put it away.
