Chapter 904: The Bride?
Chapter 904: The Bride?
"Replacing the Vespera is but the first step of our plan, even if we completely take over the entire higher being realm, do you think the people here will just start supporting us?"
Vritra paused for a moment and then shook his head slowly, there is no way most of them would support after these heretics turn into traitor and start a coup out in the open.
’They plan to use that guy as a puppet and the face to take over everything?’ Vritra realized with a start.
Dipper gave a light chuckle seeing the look of realization on Vritra’s face, but didn’t speak any further right away, letting the silence stretch a bit.
"But how can I help with this?" Vritra then asked calmly, after sorting through his thoughts for a moment.
"I need you to go meet him and propose the marriage, it’s a tough mission so make sure you aren’t seen by anyone at all." Dipper answered taking a slow sip of his drink.
"I see, and who exactly will be the bride?" Vritra continued to ask, genuinely curious now.
"This is why only you can accomplish this mission and be the reason for the eventual destruction of the Vespera family." After a brief pause he continued:
"I heard you have three daughters, why don’t you bring the proposal of their marriage to Joel. They are beautiful so Joel might accept and we will have a firm connection. You will finally have a core role." Dipper said with a big smile while his eyes narrowed slightly.
Vritra frowned deeply internally, there was no way he could ever use his own women for any such schemes even if it means exposing everything he had built.
’So it’s also a test, having the reputation of a scumbag, normally I should agree without missing a beat. If I don’t agree then it could expose me but if I agree I will be targeted first if anything is found out.’
Vritra shook his head but without wasting a second more, he smashed his hand into the table, creating a loud boom that echoed through the entire room.
"Even if those women are trash, you want me to send them to the Vespera house?!! Impossible, I would rather kill them with my hands then let those pieces of shit touch any of them!!" Vritra burst out of anger, his voice echoing loudly, there was no other solution.
But unlike what Vritra expected, the smile on Dipper’s face became even bigger.
’What is he really planning?’ Vritra had a bad feeling in his heart upon seeing that look on his face.
"Then do just that, kill a daughter of your or two. That would be an even more spectacular plan indeed."
Vritra felt that this was Dipper’s real goal from the very beginning, maintaining his expression he asked: "Are you planning to blow up things and put the blame on someone?"
But before dipper can answer, Vritra took control of the conversation firmly: "Sir, right now, we might be working together. But I know you don’t trust me, same is with me.
I might be angry at the Vespera but like I said before, I won’t let that hate control me. Don’t think you can use me like a pawn and discard me when you wish."
Dipper frowned deeply, he hadn’t expected this, he believed Vritra would agree to either of the arrangements, he doesn’t like his family at all anyway.
"As for your order, since we are working for the same cause, I will handle it and bring a woman’s proposal to Joel myself. You can leave that entirely to me." Vritra said firmly.
"...Is that so? Well, I will leave it to you then, just make sure to not mess it up badly." Dipper replied after thinking it through carefully.
"Consider it done." Vritra stood up straight and walked away without looking back once.
Dipper remained standing there for a bit longer before calling the traitor in the Vespera family, his expression unreadable.
...
Vritra flew directly back to the house of darkness right away, where everyone was anxiously waiting.
After the god’s war; they were pretty free, so all of them missed Vritra even more, hoping he was doing fine wherever he was.
Very soon, he will exit that realm for good at last. Crying monk was a bit anxious, wondering if Vritra had succeeded in devouring even one of the fragment or not.
But there was something else he was much more worried about, in the war, he had acted as if shitless wasn’t his son and they are strangers, so shitless was now giving him the same treatment right back.
As Vritra’s puppet returned he found everyone already waiting in the big hall, all eyes turning toward him.
"How did it go?" Crying monk asked while rubbing his bald head absentmindedly, clearly nervous.
"For now, those people are going to lie low, though Dipper himself is gonna take charge of everything..." Vritra stood and explained everything that had happened, leaving nothing out.
"That bastard, I will surely kill him one day!" Fiona cursed loudly upon hearing everything, her voice sharp with anger.
"But for that proposal, who are you going to choose?" Yennefer asked, though a name popped in her mind already.
"Me again?" Shitless asked before Vritra could answer and could only sigh in defeat, he didn’t want to become Shit Sonia again.
Especially since Joel is the head of that entire church and the last time those lunatics had almost torn him apart, barely saved by Vritra in time.
He really didn’t want to go anywhere near those people at all, who knows what they might do just because he is a monk among them.
Only if shitless truly knew how those people had eaten the torn corpses of the bald monks, he would have been far more terrified than he already was.
"No, this time it isn’t going to be. That place is too dangerous, so obviously I won’t send you." Vritra shook his head firmly.
"Then who? Wait don’t tell me-" Onest was asking but then paused, his gaze moving towards the crying monk.
"I would never!" Crying monk refused right away, waving his hands.
"It’s not any of us, I will choose someone else for this. I’ll tell all this to Evelyn first." Vritra said and contacted Evelyn right away.
Normally, she would pick up his call instantly, but now it was only a puppet so she wasn’t really excited about it.
"Yes? Did you find anything new?" Evelyn asked, her tone as calm as ever despite everything.
"Yes, Dipper contacted the traitor in your family once again and he plans to send a marriage proposal..." Just like before he explained that everything in detail.
"I see, Joel is a psycho. I don’t bother with him, it would be better if you don’t get involved too much." She advised, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Okay I understand, I will soon bring the marriage proposal to Joel. But could he be the traitor?" Vritra asked curiously.
"Maybe, I can’t say for sure. But he would definitely be the first one I would be suspicious of."
After talking a bit more Evelyn added calmly: "Now that the war’s decision is made. You will soon be asked to meet those judges. You’ll get the God’s status and power."
"Okay, we will wait for that then."
Finally the call disconnected, and Vritra sat down, his body couldn’t keep functioning for too long as it was.
He just hoped his main body would return soon enough, before the puppet finally breaks apart.
"Mr. Monk, do you have any idea when will my son return?" Ava asked worriedly, wringing her hands together.
"If nothing goes wrong at all, he should be out in a month or two. Don’t worry though, I can at least guarantee his safety." Crying monk spoke confidently, trying to ease her worry.
"Let’s prepare some food now." Teresa stood up and pulled Ava along so her mind could relax for a while.
The other women also followed close right behind, while crying monk planned to go back to his home for a bit and take care of some things there.
He planned to bring shitless along with him.
Onest also decided to go along with them and check out shitless’s house on the way.
Vritra decided to take care of the matter of the proposal first, while they were preparing the food back inside.
Having already decided, he got up and walked out of the house and saw a single eye peeking out from the house beside them, watching him closely.
"Sigh he won’t ever change will he?" Shaking his head, he approached green turd’s house at an easy pace.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Hey mr. Pickle; are you there? Canyou open the door, I need to talk to you about something." Vritra asked, standing there with an amiable smile on his face.
For a minute there was no reply at all, so Vritra looked directly towards the window and spoke, his patience wearing thin:
"Why are you hiding? You are such a scaredy cat, that’s why no woman likes you-"
BANG
Finally, the door opened and a scared but angry green turd appeared suddenly, standing right at the doorway nervously.
Poking his head out, his eyes bloodshot, he asked: "W- What do you want? D- Don’t think I am s- scared of you!!"
"I just have a little offer for you, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss it." Vritra’s smile widened even more, speaking like a well-wisher who meant no harm at all.
