Chapter 681: Angel
Chapter 681: Angel
<Ding!>
<…>
Heh.
Of course.
Rael didn’t hesitate for even a brief moment before pressing “Yes.”
Then, he clenched his butt cheeks and prepared for the pain to come.
But it didn’t come.
Instead, he felt a rather soothing sensation pass through his mind.
Although he wasn’t sure what was happening at first, he quickly picked up on it.
Gaia. Stop it. Now.
[…]
[I do not feel pain, Rael. Don’t worry about me,] she replied.
But he refused.
Stop the bullshit and don’t direct the pain to yourself.
Noticing his dead serious tone, Gaia froze for a moment.
She really didn’t want to give him the pain back.
Yet she felt like she didn’t have much of a choice, as she was the one at fault here.
So with a single thought, the pain that Gaia had taken for herself was suddenly directed back to Rael.
And for a second, he felt like yelling.
Though he kind of felt he might squeal instead.
Enemy territory or not, he didn’t want to come off as a pussy.
So he sucked it in and waited patiently until, finally, it was over.
The pain vanished, and soon enough, he saw a pop-up appear in the corner of his vision.
When he turned toward it, he was left wide-eyed.
Especially because the rarity didn’t really match what he had gotten.
Angel of the First Principle (Ascended)
—A hidden conceptual, immortal race that is considered the pinnacle of heaven. It is only accessible to those who have gained the approval of one of the Higher Gods.
—Stat Increases:
+90% Resistance to ALL Angelic damage.
x50 Damage to Light-based enemies.
x500 Damage to Darkness-based enemies.
x100 Multiplier to HP healed. (Works on self and recipient.)
—Special Bonuses:
★First Principle: You are immortal so long as the concept of [Blank] exists.
★Manifestation of Immortality: So long as you are alive, every ally within 1,000,000 meters cannot take damage.
★The following stats: [Fated One’s Willpower], [Archangel’s Wisdom], [Holy Power] will now transform into the following Ultimate Stat: [Ordinance].
★Law of Infinity Comprehension +1%
★You have gained a Tier 20 Angelic Art – Day of Judgement.
He wasn’t even sure where to begin…
This was beyond overpowered.
And Ascended wasn’t even that high of a rank.
It was one below Divine… but Divine was like the starter rank to the endgame tier.
Basically, it shouldn’t be anywhere near this good.
But clearly, as he stared at what he had just gotten, Rael couldn’t deny it.
This was just insane.
Resistance to all Angelic damage… If I add that with my Ruler of the Cosmos race, then I’ll take close to no damage.
Then, the pleasant damage increases.
Sadly though, he didn’t have any Darkness-based enemies, so he felt a little cheated out of that bonus.
HP healed… It was fine so long as he healed other people.
After all, if he was getting this right, he was immortal now.
Still, his smile only widened further as he moved onto the Special Bonuses section.
It did say [Blank], but since that thing was glowing, Rael felt like he could just press it and select any concept.
I’ll have to ask you about that a little later, Gaia, Rael said.
[Of course. I will help you, but just so you know, the beings you’ll be fighting will be able to damage you even if you are considered immortal. They won’t be hindered by something like conceptual damage resistance.]
“Hmm…”
Fair enough.
Rael nodded at her and moved on for now.
Manifestation of Immortality was broken too.
He also wouldn’t have to worry about those he cared about as long as they were near him.
And now…
<1 Ordinance = +2,000 Mental Integrity>
<1 Ordinance = +1% Critical Law Damage Increase>
<Ding!>
“Hmm…?”
He got the description bit, but he didn’t really get the calculations.
The top one was probably Willpower, but it used to give him Mental Resistance.
Now, it gave Mental Integrity.
And then, there was the second, which instead of Critical Hit Damage Increase now gave him Critical Law Damage Increase.
In a way, Rael liked it more since it could scale much better.
But on the other hand, he was kind of sad to see some of his old stats disappear.
Then again, he wasn’t exactly the same Rael he had been when he first arrived.
Sometimes, letting go was a must.
And since he had the bigger picture in mind, Rael simply accepted the changes and smiled to himself.
He would do a stat check soon, but first of all…
+1% to Law of Infinity is nice and all… but what the fuck is a Tier 20 art doing in here?
The highest he had seen was Tier 11, and that was after he achieved the Calamity God race.
Regardless, he didn’t keep himself waiting and checked it out right away.
—A reality defying art that is only meant to be used in emergencies. This art is only given to the overseers of the universe.
Effect:
Day of Judgement: Start a 24 hour clock, after which, a random Higher God will descend and judge the universe.
<Warning!>
Not to be trusted, huh?
He had been hearing about them quite a lot as of late.
Though they never ceased to be any less mysterious.
Regardless, Rael was definitely not using this Art any time soon, so he stashed it away in the back of his mind.
And of course, after he settled everything, he finally opened up his status screen.
