Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 740: Mega Bonk

Chapter 740: Mega Bonk

Rael paused for a few moments, observing the spider as it continued attacking him.

It tried different attacks, yet none of them were working.

Or so it seemed.

But in the end, it managed to figure out a way to damage Rael, and that was by enveloping him in its webs and zapping away his life force directly.

He was a little sad that he couldn’t copy this ability, until he realized that he didn’t have anywhere to shoot webs out from.

Still...

Rael closed his eyes, then quickly reopened them.

In an instant, a thin, barely noticeable strand of the Law of Infinity manifested itself in front of him.

It was the Heavenly Slash.

He was surprised by how easily he could move it around and control it.

So he quickly freed himself from the spider’s webs and stepped forward, arriving in front of the spider and ripping off one of its legs.

It opened its mouth as a silent scream resounded.

Or it only seemed silent at first, until Rael’s vision turned blurry, and he accidentally stumbled forward, falling down beneath the spider with its leg in his hand.

Uhh... Aren’t I immune to toxins or sound stuff? Rael thought, puzzled.

[Are you immune to vibrations?] Nyx asked plainly.

Rael rolled his eyes. Isn’t that just similar to sound?

[Yes, but it’s not the same. A pure vibration can pierce through any defense, including yours apparently. Though, I suggest you stop playing around and finally kill that thing,] she replied.

Hearing that, Rael let out a sigh.

And so, while the spider was still circling around him, covering him in its webs, Rael didn’t hesitate to flick his hand slightly and send the suspended Heavenly Slash flying forward.

It was slow, but it was completely intentional.

Rael just wanted to see if the spider would react to the attack.

But upon realizing that it wouldn’t, he upped the speed to something it couldn’t even react to, and eventually, the Heavenly Slash arrived right at the spider’s massive ass.

He expected there to be a massive explosion as the spider began to bleed out.

Yet instead... there was nothing at all.

In one instant, the spider was there, and in the other, it had completely disappeared out of existence.

Rael escaped the webs and looked around, puzzled.

It really was gone.

Though the traces of the Heavenly Slash still remained, as the mana surrounding the area that hit the spider was still chaotic, seeming as though it would open up a portal at any moment.

So, like the careful lad that he was, Rael took a few steps back and evaluated the situation.

"Ah."

"So I’m not deaf. I really didn’t hear anything."

Soon enough, Nyx’s exhausted voice rang out.

[...Just check your pop-ups already.]

Hearing that, Rael smiled slightly and decided to do exactly that.

Yet he was definitely not expecting to see what he was seeing.

MAX! [MAX!] / Vitality Tier 100 Damage | Critical Hit!

Pardon?

Max?

[You hit for Tier 100 damage, and that’s the highest HP someone can get,] Nyx said. [Though in your terms, I guess you hit for around 10 quintrigintillion damage?]

Rael didn’t even know what that number looked like.

Though it was clear that his Heavenly Slashes and the Law of Infinity in general had become much more powerful than before.

But there was also one more thing that cheered him up greatly.

—Fiona, The Death Spider [Grade 10 Tyrant Class | Elite | Level 2,554] Killed! Experience: +60,000,000,000,000 [MAX] Experience<+30,000 Premium Coins Acquired>

<Ding!>

<Level 18,255 → 18,694>

Level: 18,694

Experience: 66,888,358,401 / 1,397,866,254,400

"All that for 400 levels?" Rael complained.

[All that? You barely even lifted a finger...] Nyx said.

Just then, she reappeared beside him in her regular form and tapped him on the back.

"Your Laws are really strong, but you look like a glass cannon. I feel like people would pounce on you if they saw you."

"...What a weird observation?" Rael muttered, confused.

Though he could agree.

He was like a full armor toddler with a bazooka.

If someone got past his armor and took away his bazooka, he would be screwed.

But what else could he do?

He was already trying his best to get as strong as possible.

After all, he even went as far as to enter this dungeon.

"..."

It’s whatever.

Offense is most likely the best defense anyway.

With those thoughts, Rael turned to the side where yet another pop-up appeared.

<Ding!>

<x6 Greed Fragments granted!>

<Greed Fragments: 22 → 28>

1 Fragment: 1% Chance to convert a dropped or crafted item into the [Gold] sub-rarity.

5 Fragments: +5% to all resource gains.

10 Fragments: Invest currency into into skills/levels to grow them passively.

25 Fragments: (NEW) Your presence converts surrounding environments into high-yield zones over time.

50 Fragments: ???

<Expand [+Infinity]>

...What does that even mean?

Not knowing what to make of this, Rael quickly relayed the details of what he just got to Nyx, and her perspective on it was pretty much the same as his.

"I guess the areas you’re in just become much more valuable over time?"

Wow...

"Thanks for reciting what I just told you," Rael said, bonking Nyx over the head and proceeding ahead.

"It doesn’t matter anyway. I need to keep farming and get some more fragments, since I’m sure 50 is going to be a little better than this."

After all, it did look like the further he went, the more the fragments impacted his current skill set.

So even if it did seem shit at a glance, maybe it was some kind of hidden gold mine.

Yet the moment Rael took one step forward, a small block of gold dropped from the sky, landing right at his feet.

Then came another, and another...

Within just a few seconds, there was a literal rainfall of gold, and Rael hated it.

<Would you like to sell [Gold Block (x53,252)] to the premium shop for: 2 Premium Coins>

He just hated it so much...
