Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 760: The Uncle

Chapter 760: The Uncle

After Marie’s approval, the meeting continued as Rael kind of expected.

The Fate Dragons delivered some food and placed it down on the table.

One by one, the Dragon Gods began to feast…

But not Indra’s wife, who glared at Victoria and Astaroth.

“Don’t you think it’s a little rude to start eating without healing my husband?”

Victoria just stared at her for a moment before turning to Astaroth.

He merely shrugged.

“Do you want that foul mouth to ruin dinner?”

“Foul mouth? You dare call a Dragon God’s mouth foul?” Indra’s wife said, narrowing her eyes. “Heal him now, or I’m going to unleash war upon the Fate Dragons.”

That proclamation alone was enough to cause the whole table to fall silent.

After all, it was a really big deal if a Dragon God unleashed war upon another, since as a Dragon God, one has the ultimate authority and respect.

And gaining trust from the other dragon races was not just for show.

Once trust has been given, that dragon race must follow through on it by giving their lives up for the ones they trust, even if that means participating in all-out war.

Rael knew that much from all the whack ass anime he had watched, but that’s about it.

“Heal him, huh?” Astaroth repeated, raising his chin slightly. “Say I heal him, and he attacks me right away. How should I proceed?”

Indra’s wife paused.

“He’s not going to attack you.”

“No, humor me,” he replied. “Say he does attack me. Do I kill him outright, or should I reduce his Grade back to Grade 1 so he loses his status as a Dragon God. Which will it be, hag?”

Her brows twitched as she clenched her fists, using whatever willpower she had left to force herself to not stand up and beat the shit out of Astaroth.

After all, he was very rude.

But as the old hag that she was, she held herself back, took a deep breath, and said:

“If he attacks you, then I will personally reprimand him. Now, if you want to avoid a senseless war, then heal him now.”

Hearing that, Astaroth let out a sigh, then snapped his fingers.

In the next instant, a white flame enveloped Indra’s ear, then suddenly vanished.

But that mere instant was enough to cause something in that ear to change, as Indra’s body slowly began to mend itself.

A head appeared, then his neck, torso…

In just a few seconds, Indra’s whole body was back to normal, and although he looked a little shaken, he soon narrowed his eyes at Astaroth.

But Astaroth didn’t seem to mind it as a wide smirk appeared on his face.

“You know there’s a reason that I left your ear intact. Unless you want me to come over there and turn you into a eunuch cripple, you better stay in your place.”

“That’s enough,” Avarice said, coughing once.

“We’re all adults here, so let’s continue our talks without animosity. If you refuse, I’ll leave.”

“…”

“Don’t worry, they’re done,” Victoria assured.

Avarice nodded, then crossed his arms.

“In that case, following in Lady Wisdom’s footsteps, I’d like to propose a question…”

He waited for everyone to settle down, and then said:

“Astaroth, was it? Let’s say you find yourself in a position where the entire Fate Dragon race is at stake. Would you prioritize the Fate Dragons, or your wife, Victoria?”

Rael found this question very familiar.

In fact, he was pretty sure someone had asked him the exact same question when he had still been figuring things out with Zafira.

Though…

I sadly can’t remember who it was.

But right as Rael recalled who it was…

[It was Simon, Zafira’s father,] Nyx chimed in. [You should remember these things more vividly, shouldn’t you?]

Rael let out a sigh.

Yeah, I figured it out. Thanks for being a smartass.

[Smartass? You’d be a smartass if you used that head of yours,] Nyx retorted. [Anyways… It looks like things are about to take one step forward, and two steps backward. So get ready.]

Really?

It looked fine for now, though?

“I’d obviously choose Victoria,” Astaroth said, tilting his head. “Is there any person who wouldn’t choose their wife?”

Although the answer seemed correct, Avarice had other plans.

“So the Fate Dragon race can’t be entrusted to you, because at a moment’s notice, you’d abandon them?”

“Who says anything about abandoning?” Astaroth raised a brow. “You said if I ever found myself in that kind of situation. I don’t plan on ever getting into that kind of situation, so it doesn’t apply to me.”

Avarice nodded.

“If that’s really your answer, then I’ll remain neutral.”

Astaroth stared at him for a moment, and after furrowing his brows, he slowly nodded, not saying another word.

It was better than outright refusal.

Though he definitely could’ve used more votes in their favor.

But there was nothing he could do about it.

Anyhow…

It wasn’t really looking that good for them.

Rain and Indra were bound to vote against them.

And as for Johan, Astaroth was sure that he would do the same.

In the end, he had ruined the tradition by fighting these two, when all he really needed to do was keep his mouth shut.

Yet despite all odds…

“Putting me on the spot like that… Victoria, you sure are still an annoying brat, you know that?” Johan said, clicking his tongue.

Victoria merely shrugged.

“It’s not my fault you can’t quit.”

“Isn’t it? Who was it that said… Oh, uncle, the Dragon God title fits nice next to your name, hm?”

Johan once again slammed his fist down on the table, and after a brief pause, glared at Indra as well as Rain.

“Unlike these two eunuchs, I respect people who are strong and confident. I also don’t really like these ultimatums that some old geezers try to swing either, so I won’t be asking any questions.”

He gave her a thumbs up.

“I’m in favor of you two becoming Dragon Gods.”
