Chapter 864: Surprise Promise?

Rael shook his head at those thoughts and then finally turned toward one of the buildings in the distance. It resembled a pub, and so after a few kind and convincing words, Rael managed to lead all four of the women there.

It was quite dusty, but at the very least, there was one table at the very far end of the inn that was right by a window. As it so happened, the wind blew so perfectly that not a single dust particle was on that table.

And so, Rael led them to that table, got some extra seats, and finally sat down.

There were no lights here, but thankfully, the sunshine was enough for them to see well enough.

Since Rael wanted this to be his treat, he went ahead into the Premium Shop and bought some nice little dishes. Some fish, meat, even some desserts like cake, and of course, Rael didn’t skimp out on some strawberry pie, since he remembered Zafira used to love it.

Clearly, he was right, as the moment that strawberry pie appeared, Zafira reached for it and began chomping down on it. As for the rest of the food, they split it evenly, with Rael only getting a small chunk, since he felt like, because of his physique, he was starting to lose his sense of how much he wanted to eat.

After all, he never got full, nor did he ever go hungry… It was a weird cycle that he kind of hoped would end one day.

Maybe when all of his enemies were dead could he turn back to normal and enjoy something so simple?

Well…

Rael smiled to himself and glanced at the lovely table with people he cared about dearly. All of them were lively, eating… But the problem was that no one was talking.

Sure, he understood that it was normal to not speak and eat, but then again, they had just reunited, so Rael wanted to know a bunch more about them.

“So how long did you guys train for?” Rael asked.

Zafira and Lilith turned to him in unison, and Zafira was the first one to speak:

“Almost 9 years. After I heard about what happened to you, I decided to continue my training with Melissa. Jane, Anubis, and a few others also chimed in, including Vatyra, Anastasia, and even Uriel.”

So basically everyone, huh.

Welp.

Though, hearing that, Lilith just let out a chuckle. Then, she smirked victoriously.

“I trained for 2,900 years straight until I heard that you’re gone, so I visited my father once again and trained for 15,000 more years. In short, I’m now—”

“A grandma,” Zafira cut her off with a cough, and right as she was about to take a bite out of her strawberry pie, Lilith tossed a fork straight through the pie, destroying it and causing small lumps of strawberry pie to land on Zafira’s face.

And almost like that was the final straw, Zafira suddenly stood up and slashed her sword down across the table, splitting it in two. However, before it could cleave Lilith in two as well, Lilith easily caught the attack with a single pinky and then redirected it upward.

Yet instead of looking cool, all she managed to do was make the roof slowly collapse, forcing Rael, Gaia, Nyx, Zafira, and even Lilith to quickly run out and dodge all the incoming debris.

And before long, the whole inn collapsed, with thousands of Trell worth of food left inside. On the other hand, at least everyone was okay.

But damn.

“You guys sure are special, huh,” Rael said while rubbing his temples.

Zafira’s and Lilith’s cheeks reddened in embarrassment, and then with a slight humph, the two of them turned away.

Just then, Nyx let out a chuckle.

“I was going to shut up while you’re all flirting, but damn… You guys really are too silly. I can see why Rael was so impatient to see and hear from you.”

“I agree. But the same was on our end as well, as despite their calmness, they’re not very subtle when it comes to muttering their thoughts out loud,” Gaia chimed in.

Nyx and Gaia smirked slightly and then fell silent. On the other hand, Rael just let out a sigh and decided to buy a table and some chairs from the Premium Shop, followed by a new set of food.

Once he was done, he sat down patiently and started eating. When the others saw that too, they dug in as well, except now, there was nothing but silence.

Rael wasn’t sure what to ask, so instead of questions, he decided to just put his feelings on the table.

“I missed all of you very much.”

“…”

“We missed you too.”

Lilith coughed once, then hid her mouth as she said:

“A-Also… Zafira and I have a little present for you tonight, but we might need you to buy us some stuff a little later.”

Ah.

Welp.

If Rael wasn’t hard already, he sure was now. After all, seeing as how both of their cheeks were red, and how they were avoiding the topic, he knew better than anyone what might happen tonight.

Rael smiled at them.

“I’ll buy you everything you need, but we might need to find a floor where there won’t be a lot of people, since I don’t want anyone accidentally walking in on us.”

“Do you three think that we don’t know what you’re talking about?” Nyx chimed in, then raised a brow. “If you’re about to have a threesome, you might as well be a little more subtle, isn’t that right, Gaia?”

“I agree. You three are not subtle at all.”

“W-What?” Zafira’s eyes widened.

Just then, Lilith let out a hearty laugh.

“Phahaha… No, it’s not a threesome. It’s not sexual, kind of? Well… You’ll just have to find out later, right, Rael?”

“Hmm? Yep.”

Rael’s mind was in the imaginary land at the moment.

Anyhow…

“Let’s finish our food and then talk, ‘kay?”
