Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 892: Weakness

Chapter 892: Weakness

The two of them crossed a few oceans until eventually, they arrived above some kind of settlement. There weren’t that many people there, but to be fair, if the timeline was similar to earth, there should only be a few million people alive at the moment.

So for those few million people to colonize the entire world and have big numbers… It probably wasn’t possible. Though, he was a bit surprised to see how some people were wearing knight armor.

They were trying it out and even play fighting against each other. All of them had some mana in their hearts, but none of them used it. It was interesting… Did that group of people that monopolized magic do something to the rules of this world?

That would explain why everyone was so against using magic, especially when it could make their life so much easier. Rael wasn’t a revolutionary in that regard, so he truthfully didn’t give a shit.

Added to that was the fact that Uriel had all the strength that Rael had, minus the Laws, of course. If he so much as wanted to, he could probably topple this whole universe effortlessly.

Well, Rael was sure that Uriel had better matters to attend to. That was why he continued flying ahead for a bit until eventually, he reached one of the major cities. It housed at least 5,000 people, and with a royal family established as well as a small military, Rael was satisfied with this city.

Though, he was a little confused why Uriel wasn’t a part of the royal family. If anything, he was currently walking around in the countryside. He was living in what looked like the slums, and from the shabby clothes he was wearing… was he some kind of butcher?

Rael narrowed his eyes at Uriel and saw just how happy he appeared. If that wasn’t enough, Rael realized that Uriel’s mana was sealed, and even his strength was limited. He struggled to lift a small trunk of wood, and from the few bruises on his hands… he seemed just like an ordinary human.

A human with no mana or anything special to talk about. He hadn’t even noticed that Rael was in the sky above him, which for some reason managed to trigger Rael greatly.

“What is he doing…?”

Gaia sighed at his words. “Well, he’s made a choice, I presume.”

“Choice? The choice to be weak and bossed around by some arrogant nobles?” Rael replied harshly. “That is bullshit.”

“I vaguely remember you once thought of sacrificing all your power just so you could live with your wives like a normal person,” Gaia said quietly. “Imagine your son, who was gifted with all power without ever needing to do anything. What is his goal in life? What would he even want? I know if I was gifted with all this power, I wouldn’t want it either.”

“Why not?” Rael couldn’t understand. “He has everything, and now he has what? Shame and embarrassment? Wounds, scars, and a house that looks barely big enough to fit their future children?”

“Talk to him,” Gaia said before he could continue to go off. Then, she tapped on his shoulder. “He is very much the person you used to know. It’s just that he has grown more mature than the child you remember. In Angel years, he’s even older than you are.”

“…”

Rael stared at her for a moment before glancing down. He reappeared behind Uriel and hovered just a few inches away from the ground, making sure Uriel didn’t hear him. Not only that, Rael didn’t feel like placing his feet on the ground, as the mud would dirty his cool attire.

Still…

“Do you need any help lifting that?” Rael offered.

Uriel, who was in the middle of lifting the tree trunk, suddenly jumped, slipping on the mud and, with the tree trunk in his hands, it seemed like he was about to be crushed.

It was almost like he had inherited Rael’s occasional clumsiness. It was to the point where Rael had to step in and catch the tree trunk effortlessly, not allowing it to crush Uriel’s head.

Though, as Uriel lay in the mud, he stared at Rael with a surprised look.

“Father…?”

“Sup,” Rael said, tossing the tree trunk away.

Then, he crouched down beside Uriel.

“Mind explaining what the hell you’re doing here?”

Uriel sat upright with an excited expression. “Father, what are you doing here? I didn’t think you’d be out so soon.”

“You heard about the High Tower?” Rael mused.

He nodded and then pointed behind Rael. Rael glanced around and spotted Gaia on the rooftop, swinging her legs back and forth as she listened in on their conversation.

“She told me.”

“I see…” Rael said, then tilted his head slightly. “Now mind telling me what’s going on? What’s with this powerless act? Also, Solenne? Solenne of all people?”

Uriel’s brow twitched. “Just because you had a bad experience with Solenne doesn’t mean I did. She was rude, reckless, and powerful. That is why I had fallen in love with her. All I needed to do was seduce her, so I did.”

Hm?

He did what now?

Uriel seduced Solenne?

Not the other way around?

Rael felt like he was hearing things. Right… He might’ve gotten some temporal uhh… bullshit syndrome after exiting the High Tower, which needed around a week to cure.

That must be it.

“After I seduced her, I married her, and now, we’re celebrating our honeymoon on this world. Afterwards, we’re planning to take a trip back home.”

“…”

Nope.

Rael wasn’t hearing things.

This really did happen…

“When is afterwards?” Rael asked, not questioning the other bits.

“Hmm… A human’s natural life cycle is around 60 years on this planet. It’s quite low compared to ours, but it is a relatively new planet. Because of Solenne’s inventions, she boosted the average life cycle from 30 years to 60 years. We are wealthy and protected, despite what it looks like.”

“…”

“And as for the lack of power…”
