Chapter 918: Looking For The Past

Several days had passed since Rael left Earth and decided to piss off back to his own world.

And now, as he glanced around, finding both a naked Zafira, as well as a naked Lilith clinging to him, Rael felt like the happiest man alive.

These past few days were especially fun. But for some reason, Lilith kept trying to bring up some pregnancy tests she found, though Zafira never took any of them, feeling like it would just be a waste of time.

After all, she had this distinct feeling that Lilith was planning something behind her back. That was why she had no intention of trying any of those tests.

As for Rael, he did not really feel like he had impregnated her in the tens of times the two of them had sex in the last couple of days.

Rael got up from the bed quietly and made his way to the actual shower, fixed himself up, and lastly, he dressed up in some nice clothes. Today, he did not have many plans, except for the obvious few.

For one…

She had not come back yet, even when she promised that she would be back soon. He would be worried if it was someone else, but she was actively messaging him and letting him know how things were going.

The only reason it was taking so long was because, according to her, a whole chunk of Yggdrasil looked like it had been bitten off. That bitten-off part scattered throughout the universe, and that was why there were so many portals suddenly leading to Yggdrasil.

As for what bit it off, she did not know. That was what she had been trying to figure out for the past few days, but sadly, she was not very successful.

She mentioned doing one last test before coming back, and of course, Rael decided to respect that. He would only come if she was not back by nightfall.

But until then, Rael wanted to do some research. For starters, what exactly was he?

Sitting down in his kitchen, Rael ordered a pork chop and began devouring it. All the while, he pondered over everything he knew.

He was a being who could do unimaginably overpowered things. For one, there was a literal ability that allowed him to take someone’s memories. The ability to evolve at will, level up at will, kill anyone at will, even spawn or do anything at will.

This was the type of ability set that would belong to someone who could rewrite reality, or even create reality itself. But if that was the case, what was his actual identity? Who was he before he became Rael?

Because according to what Renoir said, Rael was a being that had been born, and then slowly came into existence. Only when the fight was at its climax was Rael born, as he took Renoir’s memories and then began existing.

But according to the timeline, Rael had only woken up in the rat dungeon several billion years later. Maybe even eons later.

So the question was, how could Rael find out the truth of his birth? How could he find out the truth of his abilities as well?

Rael finished his food, and then, instead of worrying about the door, he simply teleported into space, arriving just a few dozen kilometers away from the Mega City.

But he did not linger there, as all he needed was some peace and quiet for a moment.

There was something he still had not gotten an answer to.

The being that appeared in the Memory Record, the being who was responsible for the awakening back in Renoir’s world.

He remembered a glowing white figure that resembled Solenne, but it was not actually Solenne. Could it have been the actual Rael, the being who existed before everything?

Hmm…

This was so complicated.

But then again, Rael did have a vague idea of how to make this work, but it would cost a lot of resources and time.

Thankfully for Rael, the Law of Time could freeze the passage of time, so he did not need to worry.

And so, that was exactly what he planned to do, focusing his mana into his chest, and then quickly propelling himself across the galaxy. He was not sure about his destination, so he just traveled in one direction for a good minute, until finally, he stopped.

To his surprise, there was nothing around him. There were no stars, and only a few rocks floating around. It was almost like he had reached the edge of the universe.

It was the perfect location to do what he had been wanting to do.

And what he had been wanting to do was simple.

Lock myself in time, create a new universe, and then recreate everything that happened in the Memory Record. I need to set up a situation that would allow the universe to fill in the rest by itself.

So in short, he would be creating a new universe.

But his fear was also very simple. It was obvious that one could not create something out of nothing. In a sense, if no one had seen the face of the being Rael was looking for, would that technically invalidate his efforts?

Welp.

Rael would find out firsthand, since at the moment, he had no other ideas.

But before I start with all this time freezing and universe creating, I need to stock up on memories, Rael thought, bracing himself.

Memories that were from so very long ago, that Rael was not even sure if he would be able to hold onto himself if he took them in.

But then again… Rael also felt like if he wanted to know about the past, he needed to know everything.

And since he had the knowledge of every dead person, Rael planned to use that ability to its fullest potential.

“Let’s see…”

Rael scrolled through the menu, pondering over his options. Eventually, he stopped on one name in particular, a name he remembered from the Memory Record.

“You’ll do nicely.”
