Chapter 960: Getting Out
Chapter 960: Getting Out
Rael yawned, his feet kicked up on the table as he read the final book in boredom.
Surprisingly, there weren’t that many people who had contributed something massive, much like Uriel. There was one person who created the Abyss, but it was a total accident.
According to the book, he had thrown an attack so powerful, he accidentally created a space between the universe. At the epicenter of his punch, the Void Realm formed, and everything outside of the epicenter, spanning for nearly infinity, was the Abyss.
He obviously masked it, but it didn’t change the fact that the Abyss existed. Not to mention, it also explained why someone could just enter the Abyss from the Void Realm.
The moment he finished the last page though, a portal appeared behind Rael, signaling that he could leave. For some reason though, the Akashic Records were still a really big mystery. He was sure that he read every book...
No, rather, the portal wouldn’t have opened if he hadn’t read every single book. But there was not one that described the creation of the Akashic Records. Maybe it was intentional? What if the being that created the Akashic Records didn’t put their memories inside of it?
More importantly, was it possible that there were many more beings like Rael even before the Akashic Records? Beings whose memories Rael couldn’t see or read?
That thought alone interested him, but since Rael didn’t want to mess around with the unknown any more than he already did, he went ahead and finally stepped through the portal.
His senses were immediately cut off. However, to counter the annoying sensation of not feeling anything, Rael went ahead and simply left the Prophetic Realm.
In the next instant, he reappeared slightly outside the Akashic Records, spotting Gaia and Nyx staring at him. However, despite their stares, Rael noticed one crucial detail, and it was the fact that his time was frozen.
Did one of them freeze it? Well, whatever the case may be, Rael was grateful, since he didn’t think that the time inside the Akashic Records actually made it so the time outside passed.
Anyhow, Rael went ahead and broke off the time-frozen realm, immediately being met with a slap by none other than Nyx.
"You actually went in and did it... How long were you in there?" Nyx mumbled, glaring at him in anger.
Rael just shrugged at her behavior. "Don’t worry about it. It wasn’t that long. A few hundred years, maybe? I’m a fast reader."
After a brief pause, Gaia chimed in:
"It took you a few hundred years to read 283 books...?"
"Well, have you seen how long some of those books were? Those beings lived for near infinity," Rael replied with a sigh. "The shortest one was like 28,944 pages. That was just because that being wanted to test his parry against a black hole, and died like a dumbass."
Naturally, a black hole wasn’t enough to kill someone of that caliber, but when that certain someone was an idiot who decided not to use even a little bit of mana, yeah... Things changed a little bit.
Regardless of that, Rael read at a moderate pace, and when books had several hundred million compressed pages, Rael felt like he couldn’t be blamed.
After all, even his book had a few hundred thousand pages, and he hadn’t even been in this world for long.
Regardless of that though, he was done here now, and it was time to head home. However, right as Rael was about to open a portal to head back home, he heard a voice inside his mind, and while it didn’t belong to any of the women he knew... It did belong to one of the people he had befriended recently.
[Hello Rael. If you don’t mind, could you pay us a visit? I’ve found someone else whose memories you need to read,] Ren said.
Rael raised a brow. Already? It hasn’t even been that long since the last time I had to do something for you guys. But sure... I’m done with my business, so pick us up.
In the next instant, a portal appeared in front of Rael, causing him to let out a sigh. He really didn’t expect Ren to be in such a hurry that he wouldn’t even come here personally.
But then again, he simply gestured at Gaia and Nyx before making his way through the portal, arriving directly in the location where the prison supposedly was.
And like before, there was a man chained against the wall. Except this man seemed a lot calmer than the others. More importantly, his time wasn’t frozen, which meant this was one of those people that might be cooperating.
His memories seemed intact too, so Rael simply turned toward Ren and raised a brow.
"You do know I’m pretty busy, right?"
Ren sighed. "Indeed. Had you not come out of the Akashic Records, I would’ve dealt with this myself. However, I feel like for everyone’s sake, having you around while this person communicates is best."
Is that so, Rael mused, then glanced over at the man again. Since Ren was planning to interrogate him, Rael bought a chair for himself, Gaia, and Nyx, then placed it on the ground, allowing all of them to sit down as they wanted to watch this from front row seats.
Ren stared at them in disbelief, since Rael in particular was way too immature. The chained man, on the other hand, let out a chuckle.
"You’ve got quite a strange group of people. It’s a pity that group will vanish soon."
Ren rolled his eyes. "I’ve already killed millions of your faction. You speak as though we’re weaklings, but we are the strongest in the multiverse, and we have enough power to defend ourselves."
The man shrugged. "That doesn’t mean we can’t indirectly kill you. In fact, I’m very glad you captured me today, since the only thing that remained for our faction to pinpoint your location was to have a man on the inside."
"So once again... Thank you."
