Chapter 1471: How far can you go?

The Blood Prince stared in utter shock at the two Dao Emperors standing in front of him. As if this were not enough, the other Dao Kings started reforming one after the other.

The soul energy scattered throughout the battlefield surged back toward them, gathering into streams of misty-white light that rapidly reconstructed the bodies that had been destroyed only moments earlier.

Some returned surrounded by fire, others by lightning, frost, darkness, sword intent, and dozens of different Dao authorities, until the empty spaces the Blood Prince had carved through Liam's army began filling almost as quickly as he had created them.

Within moments, the hundreds of identical figures once again surrounded the battlefield.

The Blood Prince's expression stiffened.

He had assumed the destroyed incarnations were being sacrificed to create the two Dao Emperors, which would at least have placed some comprehensible limitation upon Liam's technique.

Creating an Emperor from the accumulated foundations of several Kings was already absurd beyond reason, but if those Kings were permanently consumed in the process, then there was still an exchange taking place.

Yet the avatars were returning.

Their auras were weaker than before, and several flickered slightly as their bodies stabilized, but their foundations remained unmistakably within the Dao King realm.

The energy Liam had drawn from them hadn't destroyed what they were; somehow, he had taken enough from their accumulated power to push two avatars across the boundary while preserving the structures that allowed the others to reconstruct.

How was this possible? No. This monster has to be cut down today no matter what. Otherwise, if he were allowed to grow more, there is no telling what could happen.

The Blood Prince gritted his teeth and took out a token. At the same time, a pair of crimson eyes opened in a distant world. "What happened? My dearest little brother offended someone whom he should not have?"

The Blood Prince's expression immediately darkened. "Shut up."

A soft laugh came through the token.

That laugh alone made several of the ancient vampires still alive on the battlefield stiffen. They recognized the voice, and although none dared interrupt, more than one instinctively lowered their head.

The Blood Prince ignored them. "I need you here."

"You need me?"

"Yes."

Another brief silence followed. Then the voice returned, much more interested than before. "Now I really want to know what you've managed to get yourself into. The last time you asked me for help, half a galaxy disappeared, and you still spent the next ten thousand years insisting you had everything under control."

"I said I need you here."

"Yes, yes, I heard you." The distant figure sounded delighted. "I'm simply enjoying the moment."

The Blood Prince's grip tightened around the token. A crack appeared along its edge.

His elder brother laughed again. "Careful. Break that and you'll have to solve your own problem."

The Blood Prince nearly crushed it anyway. Then another wave of Dao Emperor pressure rolled across the battlefield. His expression changed.

The crimson Liam had taken another step forward. The enormous crimson moon behind the avatar rotated slowly as his newly formed Dao Emperor authority continued stabilizing, while the Divine Dao Emperor remained farther away, surrounded by endless golden inscriptions.

Around them, hundreds of reconstructed Dao Kings steadily recovered, their weakened auras growing stronger with every passing moment.

The Blood Prince no longer had time for pride.

"Come to Green Mountain."

"Green Mountain?" His elder brother paused. "Never heard of it."

"An insignificant world."

"And an insignificant world forced the mighty Blood Prince to call his elder brother?"

The Blood Prince's eyes twitched. "There is an irregular here."

"Hmmm?"

"He is only a Transcendent, but he has hundreds of Dao King soul incarnations and two Dao Emperor soul incarnations."

"Little brother."

"What?"

"Have you been drinking?"

The Blood Prince's face went black. "Fuck you."

The next second, the connection broke. Good, his brother was coming. The Blood Prince raised his head. His crimson eyes met Liam's. "I underestimated you, but you will die today."

He barely finished talking when an even more powerful aura erupted. The whole world started cracking apart, unable to bear it any longer. Several of the dao kings and the lower-level cultivators instantly got crushed.

Naturally, Liam sucked in all of the soul energy without fail. His face still did not show any signs of fear. He calmly looked on as the powerful aura descended. In the background, some of his soul avatars even continued with the slaughter, slowly pulling in more and more soul energy.

Every single person assembled here was a monster in their own right. They had centuries of cultivation under their belt. So each kill was extremely valuable. Since he had already decided to go all out here, Liam was not planning to let off even a single person.

The stage was set for carnage, and everyone had to die. By now, many of the vampires, the divine priests and paladins, and most of the others gathered in Green Mountain had already died. However, the Blood Prince seemed to no longer care about that.

He stared at Liam with raging killing intent as people behind him died left and right. Beside him, the powerful aura continued building up as an enormous tornado of crimson formed. The pressure on the world became even more unbearable.

Even Liam had to dismiss all of his Dao Kings. Now only his two Dao Emperors remained standing.

As for the others, some managed to escape using this disturbance. But most simply died. In the distance, the Green Mountain ancestor quickly shot up and started a teleportation circle. But Itzel's sister interrupted him. "It's not necessary."

She then took out a treasure that instantaneously formed a protective bubble around them. "We should be safe here."

The Green Mountain ancestor examined the barrier for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Good stuff. You people really are rich," the old man muttered.

Itzel's sister ignored him. Her expression had become unusually serious as she stared through the barrier. "This isn't merely another Dao Emperor."

The old man's smile faded slightly. "I noticed."

Karim swallowed. "Young Mistress, who is coming?"

She didn't answer immediately. She didn't need to. The surviving vampires already knew.

The Blood Prince finally smiled. "He's here."

Liam heard him. His misty-white eyes remained fixed upon the tornado.

The pressure had already forced him to dismiss every Dao King avatar. The two Dao Emperors remained outside, one surrounded by the crimson moon while the other stood amid layers of golden-white divine inscriptions, but neither looked as relaxed as before.

That alone told Liam enough. Whoever was coming was stronger than the Blood Prince.

The crimson tornado suddenly stopped expanding. For a fraction of a second, the world became completely silent. Then boom! Crimson light devoured the sky. Blood rivers started flowing. Blood rain started pouring.

The remaining mountains throughout Green Mountain cracked apart as a figure slowly emerged from the center of the storm.

The newly ascended crimson Liam narrowed his eyes. His blood moon trembled. Then the newcomer opened his eyes. Two crimson pupils appeared within the storm.

DONG!

The crimson Liam was forced backward. His feet tore two enormous trenches through the ruined ground before he stabilized himself several kilometers away. At almost the same instant, the Divine Dao Emperor released a wave of golden authority.

Liam felt his chest tighten. His soul trembled.

The Blood Prince had been terrifying after revealing his Dao Emperor cultivation, but Liam's two newly ascended Emperors had at least been capable of resisting him. The existence descending now felt completely different.

The depth behind the aura was so enormous that comparing it to his newly ascended avatars almost felt unfair.

The Blood Prince laughed.

"Here! This is my brother!" He spread his arms toward the figure descending through the rivers of blood as though presenting some supreme treasure. "He is a Blood Sovereign! What can you do now? Can you become a Sovereign now?"

The words struck the remaining cultivators like thunder. Inside the protective barrier, Itzel's sister went completely still. The Green Mountain Ancestor's eyes narrowed.

The Blood Prince was a Dao Emperor, an existence already powerful enough to suppress Dao Kings through sheer cultivation and turn the entire battle around by himself. Yet the newcomer had crossed even that boundary.

A Sovereign.

The Blood Prince's elder brother finally stepped out of the crimson storm.

He was a remarkably handsome man who looked to be somewhere in his early thirties, with long dark-red hair falling loosely across his shoulders and crimson eyes almost identical to those of the Blood Prince.

Unlike his younger brother, however, he wore nothing extravagant, only simple black robes embroidered with thin crimson lines, while a faint smile rested upon his face.

The Blood Sovereign glanced toward his younger brother. "Are you showing me off, little brother?"

The Blood Prince's smile stiffened. "What?"

The Sovereign chuckled. "You haven't changed at all. How many years has it been, and you're still running around telling people how impressive your elder brother is?"

"I wasn't showing you off!"

"Of course."

"I was explaining his situation!"

"Naturally."

The Blood Prince's expression went black.

The Blood Sovereign was still smiling when his gaze finally shifted toward Liam. More specifically, toward the crimson Liam standing beneath the blood moon. His smile vanished.

The Blood Prince noticed immediately. "What?"

The Sovereign didn't answer. His crimson eyes had narrowed as they examined the avatar with an intensity that hadn't existed moments earlier.

The newly ascended Vampire Dao Emperor stared back at him. For several seconds, neither moved. Then the Blood Sovereign looked toward the Divine Dao Emperor. His expression changed again.

His perception spread across the two bodies, examining their structure, their foundations, the strange soul energy from which they had been formed, and finally the almost invisible connection extending from both of them toward somewhere else.

The Sovereign's eyes widened slightly. "This..." He appeared directly before the crimson avatar.

The Blood Prince barely saw him move. The Sovereign raised one hand and placed two fingers against the avatar's shoulder. Crimson Liam immediately struck.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

His fist passed through empty space. The Blood Sovereign had already moved several meters away. He wasn't looking at the avatar anymore. He was looking at the place where his fingers had touched it. "Soul body."

The Blood Prince frowned. "I told you. They're soul incarnations."

His brother ignored him. The Sovereign's eyes slowly brightened. "Independent Dao foundation..." His perception swept across the avatar again. "Independent cultivation." Then toward the Divine Emperor. "Yet both are connected to the same source." His expression became increasingly strange.

The Blood Prince finally became impatient. "Yes! That is what I was trying to explain!"

"No." The Blood Sovereign shook his head. "You don't understand. You cannot win here. No matter what you do, you will only end up deeper and deeper in his trap."

The Blood Prince paused. His brother looked toward the crimson avatar again. Then he asked quietly, "Where did you find him? Where did you find the Soul Weaver?"

The Blood Prince's expression changed. "Soul Weaver?"

The Sovereign looked back toward the avatar. "So you don't even know who you're fighting?"

Something about his tone bothered the Blood Prince. "Who is a Soul Weaver?"

The Sovereign didn't answer immediately. His crimson eyes continued examining the two avatars. Then he laughed softly. "Someone whom you should never have engaged in the first place. Now run."
