Chapter 1205: Inheritance

Chapter 1205: Inheritance

Worldly Skies’ eyes rose in surprise at Izroth’s abrupt statement. How did she feel about becoming the successor of a grade ten Apothecary? How did they get from needing a higher grade fire core to becoming a grade ten Apothecary’s successor?

Grade ten Apothecaries were not just weeds you found on the side of the roads. Their status and influence was such that even the kings and leaders of kingdoms had to greet them respectfully. Even the current head of the Apothecary guild was only a grade nine Apothecary!

However, Worldly Skies was well aware of Izroth’s personality. He was not the kind of person to joke around in this manner. It was just that his words were so unbelievable that she was momentarily caught off guard.

"If the Palace Master is this sincere, I would be a fool to reject such an opportunity. It’s just that... Is a grade ten Apothecary truly willing to accept me as a successor?" Worldy Skies questioned.

Worldly Skies was confident in her own abilities; however, she was only a grade four Apothecary. Sure, she was aiming to become a grade five Apothecary with the upcoming promotion test, but a grade ten Apothecary was an entity that even grade eight and grade nine Apothecaries would beg to become their student.

"There are some conditions attached to it, but it’s nothing unreasonable. If it’s you, I’m sure there will be no issue meeting the requirements. Though it won’t be easy to accomplish what lies ahead, I am willing to support you along the way." Izroth stated calmly.

Worldly Skies stood silently in deep thought. A few moments later, she asked, "What are the conditions?"

Although most others would jump at the chance of becoming the successor of a grade ten Apothecary, Worldly Skies still chose to think about things logically. There was no way that a grade ten Apothecary would go out of their way to find a successor. If they truly wanted a successor, all that had to be made was an announcement and there would be an endless number of individuals lining up to claim that honor for themselves.

"It’s like this..." Izroth went on to briefly explain the events that transpired after he cleared the Trial Dungeon and Franz Winsor’s search for a successor.

After listening to Izroth’s words, Worldly Skies finally understood why she was being given such an opportunity.

"As I thought, the situation itself is rather unique. If it’s something like this, it makes sense why they have to reach out this way to locate a successor. But, Palace Master you..." Worldly Skies looked at Izroth with a meaningful gaze.

Izroth sensed her thoughts as he shook his head and stated, "It’s not suitable for me to accept. As I mentioned earlier, there were are certain conditions that must be met in order to become Franz Winsor’s successor. One of those conditions is to not already have a Source. Since I have long since obtained a Source, it’s not possible for me to become her successor."

Worldly Skies furrowed her brows. If it were anyone else who said these words and spoke about becoming a grade ten Apothecary’s successor, Worldly Skies would have thought that they were trying to pull one over on her. Even if that was not the case, she questioned whether or not someone had scammed the person who made the offer. But, Worldly Skies knew that Izroth was not someone blinded by greed. And, more than anything, Izroth would be the first person to step forward and protect those he considered his people.

"I trust your judgment, Palace Master. If this Franz Winsor was someone untrustworthy, you would have never brought it up in the first place. Regarding the conditions mentioned—I am willing to fulfil them." Worldly Skies said determinedly.

Izroth gave a small nod as a carefree smile formed on his face.

’She didn’t immediately accept the offer despite it being so tempting and took some time to think things through. With that kind of aptitude, I’m certain—Worldly Skies will more than meet Franz Winsor’s requirements.’

"Since you have decided, I will entrust to you what has been entrusted to me." Izroth stated.

The following moment, Izroth opened his inventory and handed Worldly Skies several items that included the Winsor Insights book, 108 Mana Seals book, Vault of Knowledge, Twelve Minds Eye Pill, the SS-ranked cauldron Rebirth Lifesoul Cauldron paired with the SS-ranked Firebird Lifesoul Flames fire core, and the SS-ranked magic item which housed all the herbs in Franz Winsor’s garden, Nature’s Preservation.

Every time Izroth took out a new item, Worldy Skies’ eyes widened more and more in shock as she was left speechless.

"An SS-ranked cauldron and fire core...! Even an SS-ranked magic item as well! And, these—are they crafting technique books? This pill—I’ve never seen anything like it before! These effects are something any Apothecary would dream of!" Worldly Skies thought to herself as she examined every item given to her.

Celia watched on in five parts curiosity and five parts shock. When she first heard the talk of becoming a grade ten Apothecary successor, naturally, she also had her doubts. Not in Izroth himself, but rather the person who may have brought it up and somehow tricked him.

Most others were probably unaware of it, but Celia knew firsthand how difficult it was to invite a grade ten Apothecary, let alone learn from them. The Order of a Thousand Blossoms had a long standing history, an abundance of resources and riches, as well as a Holy Maiden at the peak of the legendary realm. But, even with all of those accomplishments and prestige, they failed to invite a grade nine Apothecary, not to even speak of a grade ten Apothecary.

But, the part that stunned Celia more than anything was Izroth casually handing over treasure after treasure to Worldly Skies without hesitation.

When Celia witnessed this, she felt a strange tightening in her chest as her gaze traveled downward.

"Why did I have to remember such a terrible memory now of all times...? It’s just that, if at that time, she had done the same thing as Saint Izroth, then would I..." Celia silently pondered.

"Everything you need to know is stored in the Vault of Knowledge. As for the materials, although what’s stored in Nature’s Preservation should not be lacking, if there is anything you need, do no hesitate to put in a request through the Mystical Realm Palace. We’ll do our best to find it. Once you master up to the seventh Chapter in the Vault of Knowledge, I will assist you with what needs to be done." Izroth explained.

He then continued, "I suggest taking the Twelve Minds Eye Pill and opening the Vault of Knowledge before the upcoming promotion test. If you can learn the basics of the Twelve Minds Eye beforehand, it will be of great use to you."

"I will take the Palace Master’s words to heart. Thank you, Palace Master—for placing your trust in me. I will not disappoint you or my new master." Worldly Skies said respectfully as she cupped her hand into her fist.

"Then, since things have been settled, I’ll leave you to it. There is not much time left before the promotion test to become a grade four Apothecary. After that, I need to pay a visit to the Wall of Pills and earn enough achievement points to participate in the next promotion test." Izroth stated.

"If it’s you, Palace Master, it shouldn’t be too difficult to gather enough achievements points in time. As for becoming a grade four Apothecary—it’s even less of an issue." Worldly Skies replied.

"Ah, that’s right! Saint Izroth, your promotion test is starting in less than two minutes! If you get there late, they will just turn you away at the door!" Celia snapped out of her downtrodden state and shouted out as a reminder.

"Since there isn’t much time left, I will be going on ahead." Izroth said as his figure began to flicker in and out of existence.

"What are you-" But, before Celia could reply, the flickering figure of Izroth disappeared without a trace.

"Big sis Worldly Skies, congratulations on becoming a grade ten Apothecary’s successor. After everything’s taken care of, we have to compare and discuss pill recipes again! Ah, Saint Izroth, wait for me!" Celia said before she hurriedly chased after Izroth.

A light smile found its way onto her face as she watched Celia scurry away. Worldly Skies could not help but release a slight giggle at the sight.

"Why does she remind me of that little girl from back then? It’s been more than ten years since that day, but I still can’t forget about it... She would be around that girl’s age by now..." Worldly Skies said to herself as sighed with a saddened look in her eyes.

...

Meanwhile, somewhere in the main Apothecary Guild building...

Izroth’s silhouette flickered through the building at a frightening speed, causing some people to be startled along the way.

Thanks to Izroth’s Gift of Divine Speed title, he gained 500% movement speed whenever he was out of combat for at least thirty seconds. That, added with the agility bonus from his Gift of Divine Speed title and the large agility buff from his Flickering Steps, it took Izroth less than a couple of breaths to reach the first floor of the main Apothecary building. It was there that the promotion test to become a grade four Apothecary was getting ready to take place.

’I’ll wrap things up as quickly as possible and challenge the Wall of Pills.’
