Chapter 1273: The Grand Duke’s Daughter

The next moment, a wooden box appeared on the table in front of Izroth.

Izroth opened the wooden box and saw a black card with a diamond embedded in its center. The card emitted faint traces of mana and despite its simple appearance, Izroth detected several layers of securities contained within the card.

"That card is proof that you are a Diamond-Level VIP of the Golden Treasure House. With it, you can receive a 30% discount on all purchases and have access to our exclusive VIP rooms. If you do not have any gold coins in your possession, as long as you show that card to anyone store associated with the Golden Dragon Association, you will be able to make any purchase on credit. You can also borrow up to 100,000 gold coins without interest or up to 1,000,000 gold coins with a 5% interest rate. Once you touch the gem at the center of that card, you will be its official registered owner. Even if you lose or misplace it, it will not work for anyone but you." Vexpela explained.

"This is quite a gift for merely giving you some of my time." Izroth stated as he pressed his finger against the gemstone at the center of the black card.

"If I am unwilling to part with this small amount, how would I dare show my true sincerity once we become partners? So that there are no misunderstandings, even if you end up declining my offer, that card will forever belong to you. At the very least, I hope that we can maintain an amicable relationship." Vexpela said with a warm smile.

The 30% discount alone was already a huge benefit. But, to be able to borrow up to 100,000 gold coins at no interest rate—that was roughly 15,000,000 RMB with the current conversation rate!

After all, as players became stronger and gained more opportunities, the price of gold coins in RML were slowly declining. As a result, it was better for one to convert what they could to RMB to gain the most benefit.

’This works out well. With this, I won’t have to worry about the conversion fee. Still, as expected of someone with direct ties to the Golden Dragon Association. Izroth stood up from the couch and said, "There is some information that I need. Is there anyone trustworthy that you can recommend?"

Vexpela’s brows rose in surprise. Not long after, a thoughtful expression appeared on her face.

A few moments later, Vexpela answered, "There is someone I have in mind. I can set up a meeting, but their verification process is rather long. It will take at least a couple of days."

’That’s too long.’

Izroth planned to ask them to look into the matters regarding the recent attack on the Noble District as well as the identity of the noble who was targeted. He also wanted to know if there were any strange or unusual movements in the underground scene of Danaharpe that may link to the League of the Eidolon.

Seeing Izroth’s reaction, Vexpela quickly followed up, "If it is information that you need as soon as possible, then I can put in the request through my own name. You can consider this another small gift."

"In that case, I won’t decline." Izroth replied in a carefree manner.

Izroth removed a scroll and writing utensil from his inventory. He wrote down the details of his request on the scroll before he handed it over to Vexpela.

"If I may?" Vexpela asked.

Izroth gave a small nod of approval. Afterward, Vexpela read over the contents of the scroll.

"You are in luck, Sir Sagarus. It seems that only half of your request will need to be sent through the person I had in mind. As for the other half—there is no need for you to wait for a response. The noble injured by the recent attack in the Noble District is Lady Amelia Harpe." Vexpela stated.

’Amelia Harpe? That last name...’

Having read through many books of the Amaharpe Palace Library, naturally, Izroth learned of the noble families in Amaharpe as well as the other kingdoms.

According to the family tree he viewed in one of the books, Izroth knew that the Head of the Harpe family, the only Grand Duke in the Amaharpe Kingdom, had a single child—a daughter. However, for some reason, the book he read did not include the daughter’s name.

"I do not know who was bold enough to go after the Grand Duke’s daughter, but they will not get away unharmed. That much, I am certain of. It is no secret that the Grand Duke cherishes his only daughter." Vexpela said in a meaningful tone.

Vexpela looked as if she were full of questions; however, as someone in her line of business, she knew what questions should and should not be asked. Therefore, she decided to tread carefully.

"From what I know, Lady Harpe has yet to regain conscious after that attack. If she does not recover soon, the situation in Danaharpe will become quite complicated for a while." Vexpela sighed.

’Given how much the Grand Duke treasures his daughter, she surely must have had suitable protection around her. Then, how were they able to get close enough to injure her to the point where she’s no longer able to regain her conscious? There are still some pieces I’m missing. Regardless, I finally found a solid lead. Amelia Harpe... If she’s still unconscious, it must mean that nothing is working. If there’s one thing the Grand Duke’s family does not lack, it’s resources. The easiest way to find out the identity of those who targeted her would be to help her regain consciousness and ask her myself. But, it won’t be easy to see her directly. I suppose I’ll have to rely on that.’

Since Vexpela had shown her sincerity again and again, Izroth decided to trust his own judgment and also take a risk on her.
