Chapter 1294: Dragon-Level VIP

Chapter 1294: Dragon-Level VIP

"Today, the Golden Dragon Association is here as a participant. Like all other participants, we reserve the right to place any bid we see fit so long as it is in the realm of reason. If you lack the capability to compete, then you should simply give up instead of complaining. There may be those who fear offending your Duvelle family, but we are not one of them." The representative of the Golden Dragon Association said unhurriedly.

He then continued, "We offer 50,000,000 gold coins. Additionally, we will grant the owner of this item Dragon-Level VIP status at the Golden Dragon Association. Of course, we will still help you procure one item of your choice, so long as it is within reason."

When the person from the Golden Dragon Association mentioned Dragon-Level VIP, the atmosphere in the entire auction house shifted. Even Lady Kesa and the guards on stage seemed surprised by its mention.

’Oh? Dragon-Level VIP? Something like that also exists?’

Izroth did not know much about the full innerworkings of the Golden Dragon Association besides what he learned in passing or from Vexpela. However, the fact that Vexpela did not bring it up must have meant that it was something out of her reach.

"Eh? Dragon-Level VIP status? You’re telling me it actually exists?" One of the guests commented as he could not hide the disbelief in his voice.

"Of course, it exists. It’s just that it’s so extremely rare that you may never come across someone who has it in your entire lifetime. These are just rumors, but I heard that there are less than ten individuals who hold the Dragon-Level VIP status. With that kind of status, one can move mountains and oceans." Another guest explained.

As the guests of the auction house became whispering and muttering among each other, the person from the Golden Dragon Association gave another push with their words.

"Since the benefits that we provide to those with Dragon-Level VIP status may hidden to the outside world, I would like to ask for a brief intermission so that I may meet with the owner of this item and explain it face-to-face. Of course, that is only if the owner is comfortable with such an arrangement." The representative from the Golden Dragon Association stated.

"That’s ridiculous! Don’t tell me your Golden Dragon Association wants to pressure others into handing over their treasure?! If you visit them to their face, do you think they will be able to turn you down without consequences?!" Burake immediately interjected.

Burake knew that, no matter what, he could not allow the representative from the Golden Dragon Association to meet alone with the owner of the Transforming Rebirth’s Embrace. Otherwise, whatever chances he had of obtaining the treasure would evaporate before his eyes.

"Hmph, pressure? When it comes to obtaining treasures, we have no need to use such underhanded means. Why use force when it’s easier to shower one in wealth? But, if the righteous and the mighty protectors of the innocent from the Duvelle family has their doubts, I will swear on the Golden Dragon Association’s reputation that we will not pressure the owner of this item into accepting our terms." The representative from the Golden Dragon Association stated.

There were hints of mockery in their tone when they mentioned the "righteous" and "protectors of the innocent" ahead of the Duvelle family name. After all, there was no one in Danaharpe who did not know of the Duvelle family’s overbearing and threatening nature when it came to getting their hands on what they wanted. Now, that very same family wanted to act as a moral compass and as though they were compassionate while looking out for the well-beings of others? Only a fool would buy such a nonsensical act.

Burake looked over at Black Fox and said, "I can keep offering gold coins, but we cannot compete with the Golden Dragon Association when it comes to money! Now, on top of that, they’re offering a Dragon-Level VIP status! Even the Head of our Duvelle family is only a Platinum-Level VIP..! Unless you have something better to offer, this treasure is as good as gone!"

Black Fox remained silent as their eyes locked onto the stage where the coffin laid.

Black Fox then spoke and said, "What the League of the Eidolon wants, it always gets—without fail."

Meanwhile, on stage, Lady Kesa took a few steps back and seemed to be using a magic communication device to talk with someone. Then, a few seconds later, she stepped back forward to the stage’s center.

"It has been determined that since such a large volume of funds is being exchanged, the Golden Dragon Association’s request is not unreasonable. More importantly, the owner of the item has agreed to meet with the representative from the Golden Dragon Association. As such, we will allow a brief ten-minute intermission before resuming the auction." Lady Kesa announced.

’Since they’re someone who can represent the name and interest of the Golden Dragon Association, It’s not a bad idea to meet them face-to-face. Although those from the Golden Dragon Association are not allowed to directly interfere in the succession battle, only a fool would completely ignore making connections with its high-ranking members when given an opportunity.’

"I will be receiving some guests soon. Will you remain here?" Izroth asked.

"It would be a lie to say that I am not curious about how my student handles himself outside of matters regarding craftsmanship." Hyrell said casually.

Izroth gave a small nod in response. He then said, "I suppose since I was not the intended target of the curse, there is no longer a need to hide my identity. However, at least until the auction is over, I plan to take full advantage of being the mysterious Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion. On that note—how do you feel about playing a small role?"

"No one has ever been so bold as to dare ask me to play a small role. But, since you are doing me a favor with the coffin, I suppose I can go along with it for the sake of my precious student. More importantly—it sounds quite amusing." Hyrell replied with a mischievous smile.

Hyrell’s response caused Izroth to smile helplessly inwardly. For some reason, it seemed that it being amusing was the most tempting part.

’So, she also has this kind of side to her.’

"Besides the representative from the Golden Dragon Association, I invited one more party to join us. They should be arriving shortly. If you think she’s someone worth supporting, I would like for you and the Formation Master Guild to lend your strength. Well, speaking of shortly..." Izroth said as his gaze traveled toward the door.

As if hearing his words, a light yet sturdy knock sounded at the door of the VIP room.

"I, Vexpela, have come to meet the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion." A familiar voice sounded from the other side of the door.

"The guest you’ve been waiting for?" Hyrell commented.

"That’s right." Izroth replied nonchalantly.

"Hm... Very well. Seeing as how they managed to receive your support, I can at least take a look at them. If they have a decent head on their shoulders, I will accept your request." Hyrell stated.
