Chapter 667: Chapter 667 Adding Fuel to the Fire (1/2)
Things were fine until it came to cleaning up, but as soon as cleaning up was mentioned, Tianhua thought of the tragic state of that room, and then she got angry. She brought Yinan over, pointed to the stains on the walls and the trash on the floor, and said, "We brought food to Qiuhe, and she didn’t eat it; that’s one thing, but she threw it against the wall, look how dirty the wall is."
Yinan knew this house had been newly renovated, and in no time at all, Wang Qiuhe had turned it into this mess. With her complexion already poor, Yinan’s face looked even worse now. "Yifan, look at the mess your daughter made. Do you treat your own house the same way? If she didn’t want to eat, she could have just said so, not throw it against the wall."
Wang Qiuhe seized the topic as an opportunity to complain, "It’s because of them, they ate delicious food by themselves, and gave me just a bowl of sauce-drenched rice, thinking that would fool me. I was so pissed off that I threw it."
Hearing Wang Qiuhe’s words, Mei Yifan immediately felt that Wang Qiuhe had been wronged. Since she had been wronged, naturally she had every reason to make a ruckus. "Tianyu, even if you dislike my family’s Qiuhe, you can’t treat her like this. Why do you get to eat well, and you just give her a bowl of sauce-drenched rice to fool her with? Why is my family’s Qiuhe so miserable? Staying at someone else’s place, she can’t even have a full meal."
"You listen to her bullshit, we called her out to eat, but she threw a tantrum and refused. Bringing her food was kindness enough. You a freeloader, expect me to serve you delicacies too? You should look at yourself and see if you even deserve that," Tianyu said and added, "Regardless of the meal, even if you weren’t going to eat it, you shouldn’t have thrown it against the wall."
"Why should you eat well, and I have to endure this?" Wang Qiuhe retorted, her eyes becoming frantic. All she wanted was to be treated fairly. Plus, the food was already thrown, and the wall was dirty, what more did they expect from her?
Hearing the righteousness in Wang Qiuhe’s tone, Tianyu almost laughed out of annoyance, and his voice immediately turned icy, "Why? Because I earn my own money to eat with, because you’ve freeloaded off me for two months without contributing a penny, because you didn’t want to come downstairs to eat, what’s that got to do with me?"
Mei Yifang glanced into the room from outside, saw the chaos on the walls and the floor, and asked, "When was this thrown? Just left here like this, didn’t any of you kids think to clean it up?"
Speaking of cleaning gave Tianhua a perfect chance to complain, "It was thrown yesterday at noon. I talked to her about it and she locked the door, wouldn’t let us in. I share a room with her, she straight up locked me out. If she doesn’t clean it, who will?"
This was a bit too much.
Yinan asked, "Then where did you sleep?"
"I squished onto one bed with Zhenzhen and Chenchen, otherwise I wouldn’t have had anywhere to sleep."
In this community, the master bedroom of a typical unit only has enough space for one 1.8m-wide bed. It’s okay for two people, three would definitely be a squeeze but still fit; however, locking someone out of the room is just nasty behavior.
Being Tianhua’s mother, Yinan naturally was protective of her daughter. She looked at Wang Qiuhe with a stern face and questioned, "Why did you lock your Sister Tianhua out?"
"I didn’t want to live with her. They’re all liars."
Yinan pressed further, "Liars? Lied about what? Did they deceive you, or cheat you out of something?"
"They’re obviously rich and still lied to us, claiming they were poor," Wang Qiuhe said, looking aggrieved as though not being told the truth had greatly insulted her. But what did it matter to her, a distant cousin, whether others were wealthy or not.
Yinan initially didn’t quite follow this logic since Wang Qiuhe’s statement made no sense at all. She blurted out, "What does her having money have to do with you?"
But as soon as Yinan finished speaking, she realized what Wang Qiuhe was getting at. It infuriated Wang Qiuhe that Tianyu was wealthy and didn’t tell her. But what right did she have to be angry? In fact, why should she be angry at all? "Our family’s Tianyu’s money is none of your business. Why tell you? Not telling you is actually normal. Qiuhem listen, you’re just a cousin. Even if you were a sister, Tianhua and Tianyu wouldn’t have to tell you anything."
Therefore, your anger is completely irrational. Yinan continued, "Wang Qiuhe, don’t tell me you’ve started to think of Tianyu’s possessions as your own. You’ve only been living here for two months; if you stayed longer, would you start thinking Tianyu’s belongings should be yours too? My gosh, who gave you such audacity, who gave you the right to treat other people’s possessions as your own?"
Yinan’s voice escalated into a high-pitched, explosive fury, culminating in a shout, "Who the hell gave you such audacity?"
Yinan finally burst out with curse words, purely because Wang Qiuhe had started to covet Tianyu’s money.
As a mother still wielding the authority of an older sister, Yinan watched Wang Qiuhe act so brazenly. One could only imagine how Mengzhen must feel, "You really are audacious, only eyeing Tianyu’s belongings. Why not eye our belongings too? Oh, it’s not that you haven’t, just that you haven’t spoken it aloud, right? Let me tell you all three; don’t even dream about getting our things. It’s out of the question."
Listening to Yinan’s heart-wrenching roar, regardless of how the other two felt, YiFan was genuinely scared. She hurriedly explained, "No, big sister, my Qiuhe probably didn’t mean that. Qiuhe, explain to your aunt right now. Look how upset you’ve made your aunt. She’s just talking, she hasn’t eyed Tianyu’s things."
This matter was beyond explanation. Wang Qiuhe was already scared stiff by Yinan’s intimidating demeanor and could only cower behind her mother.
However, how could the situation just simmer down? Tianyu was the master of pouring fuel on the fire. He said coolly, "Indeed, she wasn’t eyeing anything. She was just complaining that I have money and don’t help your family. Why don’t I happily and willingly give you my money? She was just implying that. But, auntie, we’re only cousins, our familial relation isn’t that deep. As for my family, I have money, why should I tell you? Every family is separate, and it’s not like your family has ever shared its wealth with ours. Going by your logic, with your family being so wealthy, why don’t you share some and take care of your relatives?"
Wang Gaofeng immediately retorted upon hearing this, "What money could our family possibly have? We’re just a working-class family with fixed salaries."
"I’m just a vegetable vendor, how much could I earn? A vendor like me, buy a building, buy land, invest in stocks? As if that could happen," Yinan argued, tired of debating with these three. She glanced at her son who loved a spectacle more than a quiet life, then shot a furious look at YiFan and her family, and warned, "You better head back to Xincheng. After you leave this time, just don’t come back here again. Zhenzhen’s money has been donated, she has none left, and it’s not retrievable. Just drop that idea. Yes, Tianyu has become a boss, but he’s always been one. Just remember, if you dare covet our family’s money, I swear I’ll cut you down."
