Chapter 537 537: The System Is Gone

Her choice was right; these past few years, she never bothered with the building on the other side, and surprisingly, they managed to start a real estate agency on their own. It's quite a popular industry nowadays. Who would have thought these people had such agile minds and found a way to succeed that was different from others? Of course, Qin Xiangnuan supported them.

In fact, time really favored her. The miracle she saw in Qin Xiangmei's life in her previous life, now, appeared in her own life.

Time just passed by, year after year, and before she realized it, over a decade had gone by. The three young ones had attended elementary school, middle school, and finished high school. They were all sent to the army for training, and she was approaching her forties.

"The second-child policy has finally been relaxed," Qin Xiangnuan logged into the system and talked to it, wondering if she could now have another little daughter. She and Jian Zhiqing had no regrets in this life. It was just a pity that Jian Zhiqing had always wanted a little daughter. He had even said recently, he wished the era of the second child would come sooner, so he could have a daughter to cherish in his old age. But what old age? Men become more charming as they age. Qin Xiangnuan's luck in this life was really good, her fashion business was doing very well, and they had recruited quite a few new designers. She hardly needed to lift a finger anymore. She was making extremely expensive custom clothes, one piece of clothing could take her several months, even a year to complete. This was her joy, her love for the craft of stitching and sewing.

She waited for a while, but the system didn't respond.

What's going on today, tired? Don't feel like talking?

Qin Xiangnuan didn't mind and kept on sewing. Her concentration was much better now; she could sit there for hours without a problem, and she had the system to thank for that. Without it, she really wouldn't have had so much time to do the things she liked. The system could still be used for another eighteen years, and then she'd return it to itself. By then, she'd be in her sixties and it would be time to retire.

Look at her, daydreaming about such a distant future, she's not old yet, is she?

But a few days later, she felt something was off.

The system hadn't been paying attention to her for a long time. Could it be that something had happened?

She opened the system's panel, and without noticing at first, there were quite a few new items. There were five or six hundred packets of milk powder, all free, with a message saying, keep giving it to me until I'm six.

The needle Chun Xiangnuan was holding in her hands dropped to the floor.

She slowly moved her hand over her abdomen.

Could it be that she was pregnant?

No, she needed to get it checked out. She remembered her menstruation was over ten days late, but she hadn't paid much attention, thinking it was because she hadn't been resting well recently.

The hospital was full of second pregnancies, even at forty-six years of age. Her age was not considered old by any means, otherwise, it would have been quite embarrassing. Although the pearl is born of old clams, she did look young and charming on the outside.

"Age?" the doctor asked Qin Xiangnuan, holding her medical records.

"41 years old," Qin Xiangnuan replied sheepishly, with a slight smile and an elegant demeanor.

"41?" The doctor lifted his head and looked at Qin Xiangnuan for quite a while. She clearly looked like a young girl, not at all like a middle-aged woman.

"Are you sure it's 41, not 21?"

"Yes, quite sure. Do you want to see my ID?" Qin Xiangnuan knew that her appearance was deceiving. She seldom tanned, so her skin was very fair, and also because of the medicine provided by the system, she aged much slower than others. Although she couldn't really be 21—as she had lived two lives already—it was plausible to believe she was 31.

"You've kept yourself very well," the doctor envied Qin Xiangnuan for her great skin. She was 28 and yet looked older than Qin Xiangnuan.

"Thank you," Qin Xiangnuan wasn't as embarrassed this time. A woman needs good spirits and good care.

Affected by Qin Xiangnuan's smile, the doctor gave her a form to check if she was truly pregnant. If she was, she could have the baby. Although she was considered an elderly pregnant woman, there were many who were older than her, so her age was relatively young in comparison.

Soon after, Ke Zhqing came. A mature man with a steady temperament and high position, he had become less talkative, but for Qin Xiangnuan, he was still the man who watched her grow up.

"How is it?" he hurried over and put his hand on Qin Xiangnuan's face.

Without realizing it, so many years had passed, his little girl had grown up. Yet, she had not changed a bit.

"It's fine," Qin Xiangnuan said with a smile, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"It's positive, a little over two weeks. Are you keeping the baby?" Jian Zhiqing asked.

"Can your body handle it?" Jian Zhiqing wasn't overly ecstatic because, after all, Qin Xiangnuan was not a young girl anymore, and she had already had three children. Whether they wanted this child or not didn't matter as long as it didn't harm her health.

"Don't worry, all my examinations are good, and the doctor said there should be no problems."

Jian Zhiqing was still worried and decided to have Li Li check up on her. Li Li was now working in the hospital, having risen from a junior doctor to a chief doctor. She had a good reputation in the field of gynecology. Jian Zhiqing couldn't put his heart at ease with others, but he trusted Li Li.

When they got to Li Li, she was shocked.

"Qin Xiangnuan, you're producing a pearl in old age?"

Qin Xiangnuan glared at Li Li, "What pearl in old age? There are people older than me having kids."

"That's true, now that the second child is allowed, I want to have one, too," Li Li stroked her belly. No, she decided she and Dongsheng needed to work hard on this when she got home. She too had only given birth to a daughter and felt regret for not giving Dongsheng a son. But Dongsheng didn't care; he doted on his precious daughter. Li Yu's daughter was now in junior high, a smart and adorable little girl. The Jians had a bunch of boys with no girls, so they all doted on their cousin. Their family hadn't had a little one in many years, and now it was Qin Tongnuan's turn, almost a grandmother and yet, here she was, expecting a baby.

It really was...

Heartwarmingly moving.

Jian Zhiqing, still not at ease, had Li Li do a thorough check on Qin Xiangnuan.

After the check-up results came back, Jian Zhiqing finally breathed a sigh of relief. Indeed, Qin Xiangnuan was healthier than her peers, so this pregnancy should yield a healthy baby.

Qin Xiangnuan was also very expectant. Others might not know, but she did, because this would be the first little princess of the Jians, a highly intelligent little girl.

Right, she had to tell those three brats. They were getting a little sister. They had to take good care of her in the future.
