Chapter 1066: Dad
Chapter 1066: Chapter 1066: Dad
"Come over here." Brother Biao reached out to Lian He.
Lian He stopped, saying, "Let Xiao Yue come over. I’m the only one on this rooftop. Are you guys afraid of one person?"
Brother Biao gave a signal to Xiao Li beside him.
Xiao Li dragged Tang Yue slowly towards Lian He, and Lian He’s heart tightened.
"Xiao Yue, are you okay?" Lian He looked at Tang Yue with concern, shouting, "Take away the thing in Xiao Yue’s mouth."
Xiao Li raised her hand, and the towel tied around Tang Yue’s mouth loosened.
"Dad, don’t come over." Tang Yue said anxiously. She preferred to be held hostage than have Lian He replace her.
Lian He, being older and not in good health, would surely suffer if taken hostage.
"You, you, what did you call me?" Lian He looked at Tang Yue in shock. The word ’dad’ seemed like an illusion, making him feel unreal.
"Dad." Tang Yue choked and called again, her demeanor excited. Tang Yue felt her actions were right.
Ever since learning about his family background, Lian He had always looked forward to this day. So many years had passed, he didn’t dare to imagine such a warm scene would happen now.
Lian He smiled and said, "Xiao Yue, be obedient. Zaozao and Chenchen are waiting for you at home."
Lian He came forward with a suitcase, his hands slightly trembling.
Lian He was preparing for a hostage exchange.
Xiao Li dragged Tang Yue forward, and just as they were about to meet, Xiao Li yanked Tang Yue back, and someone beside them stepped forward to snatch the suitcase.
Lian He quickly retreated while kicking the person fiercely, he shouted in anger, "Are your words just meaningless? You clearly promised it!"
Lian He couldn’t help but curse. Even though he had prepared Lian Qingyang for any contingency, he didn’t anticipate them not keeping their word.
"Hmph." Brother Biao snorted coldly, saying, "Stop playing this sentimental family drama here. I decide who gets to be the hostage."
"You." Brother Biao pointed at Lian He and said, "Want to exchange yourself for Tang Yue? Do you think I’m an idiot or are you?"
Brother Biao glanced coldly at Lian He and said, "If you want her safe, put the money in the middle. Once I’m safely away, I’ll release her."
Lian He fell silent. With Tang Yue in their hands, he had no other choice. The scar on that Brother Biao’s face didn’t make him look like a good person.
"I can give you the money, but please don’t hurt my daughter." Lian He pleaded, voicing a father’s care for his daughter.
For so many years, Lian He, though not commanding the winds and rains, had always been respected. Never had he bowed so low before.
Lian He slowly placed the suitcase in the middle and backed away slowly.
Brother Biao gestured to one of the men to take the suitcase.
The man quickly brought the suitcase to Brother Biao’s side, opening it to reveal the hundred yuan bills, dazzling his eyes.
He excitedly took a stack of money, babbling, "Boss, so much money, and all of it is real."
He held the money up to Brother Biao. Brother Biao riffled through it like flipping pages, the faint breeze carrying the scent of money.
He crouched down, casually flipping through the neatly arranged bills in the suitcase; all of it was indeed real.
Five million, quite a sum indeed.
Brother Biao set the suitcase aside and said, "Have your people stand down, or the thing in my hand doesn’t have eyes."
Brother Biao pulled something from his body and aimed it at Tang Yue.
"Don’t fire," Lian He shouted loudly, looking at the item in his hand, yelling, "Don’t come over here."
Lian He didn’t know where Zhao Xiangqian and the others were, but in this moment, he dared not act rashly for fear of the thing in his hand misfiring. It was also a warning to Zhao Xiangqian and the others that they were dealing with armed adversaries.
"Boss, Hei Gou and the others haven’t arrived yet," a man whispered in Brother Biao’s ear.
"They’ll come," Brother Biao assured confidently.

Meng Siyu got the news when Tang Yue had been missing for a day and night.
He disregarded his injuries and exhaustion, flying straight to Su City, eventually linking up with Zhao Xiangqian.
"Brother Meng." Zhao Xiangqian hurried along a shortcut with them, moving quickly.
Suddenly, Meng Siyu stopped everyone.
Zhao Xiangqian listened keenly and, indeed, the mountain was unusual; there were people.
Even though the others hid well, for individuals like Meng Siyu, who had trained for years, they could still spot traces.
"On this mountain, there’s only the abandoned factory, perhaps that’s their escape route."
Meng Siyu analyzed calmly, deciding not to go directly to the factory with Zhao Xiangqian but to look for the escape routes instead.
Following the traces, Meng Siyu and his group indeed found a hidden helicopter.
"Brother Meng." Zhao Xiangqian couldn’t help but give Meng Siyu a thumbs up; he never expected them to use a helicopter.
"Have you remembered who dealt with Wu Xinming?" Meng Siyu’s eyes showed coldness; it was Brother Biao of Golden Corner. He and Gu Chun destroyed their hideout; the others were arrested, but Brother Biao escaped with his subordinates.
"You mean that Brother Biao?" Zhao Xiangqian recalled immediately; known as Brother Biao, he was quite famous in Golden Corner.
If it was him, bringing in a helicopter wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
"Let’s split up and take over the helicopter!"
Meng Siyu’s words made Zhao Xiangqian’s blood boil. "Brother Meng, it’s been a while since I’ve done something this thrilling."
Zhao Xiangqian geared up, excited for the first-ever helicopter hijack.
*
Rumbling.
The helicopter’s sound echoed, lights flickered, Brother Biao couldn’t help but laugh; it was as if even the heavens were assisting him.
Brother Biao let out a roar, shattering the quiet darkness.
Lian He looked ashen; if Tang Yue was taken away, rescuing her wouldn’t be easy.
The helicopter began its descent, wild winds roared. Brother Biao’s group focused mainly on the helicopter, Xiao Li holding Tang Yue’s hand, showing faint excitement.
With money in hand, as long as they boarded the helicopter, the trip was worthwhile.
Tang Yue and Lian He exchanged a secret glance; the icy wind flared, making her appear even more delicate and petite.
"Brother Meng, that’s your wife." Zhao Xiangqian said excitedly.
"Once the helicopter lands, it’s the best time to act."
Meng Siyu’s gaze never left the tiny figure below. Even though she wasn’t wearing her usual clothes, he recognized her at a glance—it was his wife.
"Brother Meng, rest assured, we’ll rescue your wife unharmed."
"They might have guns," Zhao Xiangqian warned.
