Chapter 1112: Chapter 1112: Still Counts (Monthly Ticket 150+)

No shortage of money.

Tang Yue silently repeated Zhu Liniang’s words in her heart, her lips slightly curling into a smile as she said, "Sister-in-law Zhou, this is something Xiao Jun should do, and I also agree with Xiao Jun doing this. You and your son live in Jin City without any family here, so keep some money on hand for Xiao Cheng’s schooling in the future."

"By the way, Sister-in-law Zhou, how old is Xiao Cheng this year?" Tang Yue shifted the topic and asked.

Zhu Liniang replied, "After the New Year, he turned six."

"A little younger than my Zaozao and Chenchen; our Zaozao and Chenchen will be seven this year." Speaking of her own two children, Tang Yue’s smile grew even more tender.

Tang Yue and Zhu Liniang chatted while washing vegetables and cooking, which brought them significantly closer.

Jin City is by the sea, so fish dishes are essential. The taste is somewhat different from those in the south, but Tang Yue still found Zhu Liniang’s cooking skills quite impressive.

Children’s moods come and go quickly, calling out "Uncle Tang" with every breath, completely different from their tearful and pitiful look just a moment ago.

This meal was enjoyed quite happily.

Tang Yue and Tang Jun initially planned to stay in a hotel, but Zhu Liniang insisted on having them stay; there are two rooms in the house. Tang Yue could sleep in one, Tang Jun could stay with Zhou Cheng, and Zhu Liniang could sleep in the living room.

"Sister-in-law Zhou, if you don’t mind, you can sleep with me," Tang Yue shyly suggested, not wanting Zhu Liniang to sleep alone.

Finally, Tang Jun said, "You all stop arguing, I will sleep with Xiao Cheng, and Sister-in-law Zhou can sleep with my sister."

"Great, I can sleep with Uncle Tang," Zhou Cheng said happily, hugging Tang Jun tightly.

After finishing her wash, Tang Yue had just returned to her room when she received a call from Meng Siyu. The other end of the line was lively; Zaozao and Chenchen both wanted to talk to their mom, and Tang Yue greeted each of them, including Meng Siyu.

Hearing her on the phone, Zhu Liniang didn’t go inside; she planned to check whether Zhou Cheng had fallen asleep but didn’t enter the room since Tang Jun was there and instead tidyed up in the living room.

"Has Xiao Cheng fallen asleep?"

Tang Jun suddenly came out, and Zhu Liniang lowered her voice to inquire.

"He is asleep. Xiao Cheng probably played too hard during the day, so he is sleeping soundly now," Tang Jun spoke with a hint of nostalgia when mentioning Xiao Cheng.

Zhu Liniang sighed along, time has flown by, Zhou Jun has been gone for three years, from hurting with every thought to gradually getting used to it.

"Sister-in-law Zhou." Suddenly, Tang Jun called out to her.

Zhu Liniang was startled, lifted her head, and saw Tang Jun’s serious and earnest face. Her heart skipped a beat as she said, "It’s getting late, you should hurry to bed."

"Sister-in-law Zhou, what I said before still holds," Tang Jun said earnestly, word by word.

Zhu Liniang instinctively glanced toward the room where Tang Yue stayed, shaking her head and replying, "Tang Jun, you have already done enough. We are living well together as mother and son. You don’t need to sacrifice so much out of guilt for Junzi."

Back then, Tang Jun said, as long as she was willing, he would take care of them like Zhou Jun did, for a lifetime.

But, how could she selfishly burden Tang Jun?

Tang Jun is great; in terms of looks, Zhou Jun couldn’t compare, but her man was Zhou Jun for her entire life. She couldn’t demand Tang Jun to take care of them for a lifetime just because Zhou Jun saved Tang Jun.

"No, I haven’t done well enough," Tang Jun shook his head.

Zhu Liniang interrupted, "Tang Jun, you’re still young, you should marry and have children. If we have difficulties, we’ll seek your help. What you said before, I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it."

Zhu Liniang turned around, not daring to look at Tang Jun.

"Sister-in-law Zhou." Tang Jun was about to speak, but Zhu Liniang cut him off, "If you’re thinking of me casually marrying someone just to get you to marry, I..."

"No, that’s not it," Tang Jun quickly denied, his intention was good, but he didn’t want it to backfire.

"Well then, if you meet a girl you like and plan to marry, remember to inform me. After gaining your care, we’d love to boldly attend your wedding."

"It’s getting late; you should head to bed," Zhu Liniang firmly issued a dismissal.

Tang Jun looked at Zhu Liniang’s back for a long moment before heading back to his room.

In the room, Tang Yue was hanging up the phone, about to find Tang Jun. The two kids said they wanted to speak to him, but as she reached the door, she overheard Tang Jun and Zhu Liniang talking and stopped in her tracks.

Only after Tang Jun returned to the room did Tang Yue go back to the bed, lying down on her side, pretending nothing was heard.

Returning to the room, Zhu Liniang said, "All the quilts at home were just dried and the covers freshly replaced."

"Sister-in-law Zhou, you don’t have to be so courteous."

Tang Yue wasn’t quite used to sleeping in someone else’s bed, hence she slept restlessly, faintly hearing suppressed sobbing which startled her awake. She froze, not daring to make a sound.

In the pitch-black night, Tang Yue lay in bed, unable to fall asleep.

Zhu Liniang’s restrained cries were soft and faint; had Tang Yue not been restless, she might not have heard them at all.

Images of Zhu Liniang’s conversation with Tang Jun floated in Tang Yue’s mind. She’s not foolish, clearly understanding Tang Jun’s intention from their talk.

Tang Jun, out of guilt, wanted to compensate their mother and son. If Zhu Liniang didn’t marry, he planned to take care of them for a lifetime.

Inside, Tang Yue felt an uncomfortable tangling emotion. She had come with the intention of seeing Zhu Liniang, yet truly seeing her now, she suddenly understood why Tang Jun refused Yuan Yu.

But Tang Jun didn’t love Zhu Liniang; it was merely guilt and compensation.

The person Tang Jun should love is Yuan Yu; Tang Yue, as a woman, instinctively sensed Tang Jun’s affection for Yuan Yu. It was only due to his promise to Zhu Liniang that he repeatedly turned Yuan Yu away.

And what about Zhu Liniang?

Tang Yue felt this was akin to an unresolved knot.

The next morning, Tang Yue woke up late; after tossing and turning the previous night, she ended up oversleeping. When she awoke, the living room was filled with the sounds of Tang Jun and Zhou Cheng playing.

Feeling guilty, Tang Yue hurriedly got out of bed; Zhu Liniang had already prepared breakfast.

Today, Zhu Liniang showed no signs of anything unusual; as Tang Yue accompanied her to the store, she hesitated several times before finally speaking, "Sister-in-law Zhou."

"Tang Yue, you should persuade your brother Tang Jun; he’s not young anymore and should get married. Then I can shamelessly ask to toast at his wedding," Zhu Liniang said smiling, interrupting what Tang Yue was about to say.

"Sister-in-law Zhou."

Tang Yue felt seen through by Zhu Liniang, wanting to explain but not knowing where to start.
