Chapter 1128: Peeking Is Wrong
Chapter 1128: Chapter 1128: Peeking Is Wrong
"Brother-in-law." Tang Jun heard Si Yu’s voice and was very excited. He said, "Sorry, brother-in-law, for making you worry."
"As long as you’re okay. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to explain it to your sister."
Seeing Tang Jun safe and sound, Si Yu finally felt relieved. He was really afraid that Tang Jun might have lost his life, which would have made explaining to Xiao Yue impossible.
Si Yu scrutinized Tang Jun; soon, he noticed something was wrong. He waved his hand in front of Tang Jun, but Tang Jun showed no reaction at all. The heart that had just settled began to sink again. He asked, "Xiao Jun, what happened to your eyes?"
"Can’t see anymore?" Si Yu stared at his eyes, which had lost their usual brightness and were now dull and lifeless.
"Brother-in-law, don’t worry. Grandpa Miao said my blindness is due to a blood clot in my brain and that it might get better by tomorrow." Tang Jun hurriedly added, "Brother-in-law, sister is still in Country F, right? Please don’t tell her, so she won’t worry."
This is Tang Yue’s first fashion show in Country F, and it can’t be disrupted by his situation, causing Tang Yue to lose focus.
"Do you think that when your sister returns and finds out about this, you won’t get scolded?" Si Yu raised an eyebrow. He looked at Tang Jun’s eyes, thinking that with the advancement of medicine, they would definitely be able to cure Tang Jun’s eyes.
"Anyway, I’ll get scolded, as long as it doesn’t interfere with sister’s matters, it’s fine." Tang Jun muttered softly.
Si Yu glanced at him and, after finally suppressing the urge to speak again, took out his phone from his backpack. Luckily, it had originally been waterproof but there was no signal here at all.
"Grandpa Miao, is there a phone here?"
Si Yu asked politely, knowing that Grandpa Miao had saved Tang Jun over the past few days and had been taking care of him. Si Yu felt sincerely grateful to Grandpa Miao.
"No." Grandpa Miao shook his head and said, "You have to go to the town to find a phone."
"However, even the nearest town requires a three-hour walk." Grandpa Miao added.
"Don’t you have cars for going out?" Si Yu was somewhat incredulous.
"No, the mountain roads are difficult to navigate, even for cars." Grandpa Miao briefly explained.
Si Yu looked around at the houses, all very old and scattered, built against the mountain. He said, "Xiao Jun, let’s go to town together."
Tang Jun’s eyes should not be delayed.
"No, Yuan Yu is still here." Tang Jun remembered that Yuan Yu was still unconscious.
"Yuan Yu is also here?" Si Yu was a bit surprised. He initially planned to contact someone before searching for her, but unexpectedly, there was no need to search at all.
Tang Jun and Yuan Yu truly have a connection.
No, it should be Yuan Yu’s relentless pursuit; otherwise, she wouldn’t have ended up falling into the dark river with Tang Jun and ultimately arriving at this village.
"Yes, she’s currently unconscious at Fat Aunt’s house." Tang Jun replied.
Si Yu followed him to Fat Aunt’s house and saw that Yuan Yu was still unconscious and having a high fever. Traveling several hours through the mountain roads to the town with Yuan Yu was definitely not feasible.
The village seldom sees any outsiders all year round. In just a few days, three have arrived, sparking the curiosity of the villagers. They all gathered to look, and the villagers were warm and simple, asking many questions. While Si Yu was not talkative, it did not mean he couldn’t communicate. Although he spoke little, he managed to satisfy the villagers’ curiosity about the outside world.
Upon hearing that Si Yu was going to town to contact someone, the village chief was the first to volunteer to take Si Yu, and many young and middle-aged villagers also suggested going along.
"Xiao Jun, stay here and take care of Yuan Yu. I’ll go to town with the village chief to make contact. Both you and Yuan Yu need a thorough check-up at the hospital."
It wasn’t that he distrusted Mr. Miao, but he was concerned that besides Tang Jun’s brain clot, there might be other injuries. Also, Yuan Yu’s persistent high fever needed proper care as well. Even if they couldn’t move her temporarily, they could at least bring in a professional doctor.
"Brother-in-law, don’t worry. We’re doing fine here." Tang Jun nodded and suddenly remembered something, saying, "By the way, the village has very limited supplies. When you return, could you bring more stuff?"
"Alright."
Si Yu agreed and, without taking a rest, immediately set off for town to make contact.
Although Tang Jun couldn’t see, he helped with tasks he could manage, like chopping firewood; once the wood was set up, he could split it by feel.
"The medicine’s ready." The young girl brought over the concocted medicine, saying, "Brother Tang, but how do you feed medicine to sister?"
"I’ll do it." Fat Aunt had washed and sun-dried Yuan Yu’s white shirt. She took the bowl from the girl’s hands and said, "You watch by the side, I’ll feed her the medicine."
Fat Aunt propped Yuan Yu up and tried to feed her the medicine with a spoon, but Yuan Yu kept her lips pressed tight and didn’t take any at all.
"Oh dear, what if she can’t swallow it?" Fat Aunt fretted as the medicine flowed out rather than in.
The girl said, "Fat Aunt, if sister doesn’t take the medicine, the fever will be even harder to bring down."
"But she can’t swallow it." Fat Aunt was distressed. Without sight, Tang Jun was even more anxious and worried.
"Yuan Yu."
Tang Jun sat by the bedside, gripping Yuan Yu’s hand tightly. He called her name, but she didn’t respond at all. Holding her hand, he could feel her temperature, scarily high.
"Fat Aunt, you all leave. Let me feed her the medicine." Just as Tang Jun finished speaking, the young girl looked at Tang Jun with confusion and said, "Brother Tang, do you have a way to feed sister the medicine?"
"Yes." Tang Jun nodded. As long as he could get the medicine down, he would feel relieved.
Fat Aunt handed him the medicine bowl, "Alright, you feed her. Young girl, you come with me to the kitchen."
"Fat Aunt, but Brother Tang...how will he feed sister the medicine?"
The young girl looked innocently on, completely oblivious to Tang Jun’s face that was turning slightly red, all the way to his ears.
Fat Aunt directly dragged the young girl away. Before closing the door, Fat Aunt reminded him, "Tang Jun, you have to get the medicine in quickly so Miss Yuan’s fever can subside."
"Yes."
Tang Jun responded, holding the warm medicine bowl. After hearing the door close, he paused before saying aloud, "Fat Aunt, I know you’re outside the door. It’s not right to peek."
A small gap was left in the door, and the embarrassed Fat Aunt, who intended to peek, said, "I was just worried you...might not be able to hit the right spot."
Fat Aunt grumbled as she led the young girl to the kitchen. She said, "You know, Tang Jun can’t see, so how did he know I was peeking?"
"Fat Aunt, how does Brother Tang feed the medicine?" The young girl was curious, eager to know about this method of administering medicine.
