Chapter 1275: All for Wontons
Chapter 1275: Chapter 1275: All for Wontons
"Hahaha~"
Tang Yue was laughing so hard that she could barely straighten her waist. Listening to Tang Jun’s voice on the phone, she laughed and said, "Wait, let me finish laughing."
"Sis, are you really my sister?"
Tang Jun couldn’t help but look up at the blue sky, wondering why he felt like he was adopted.
"Haha~"
Tang Yue finally finished laughing and said, "Xiao Jun, you are truly my brother, there’s no denying it."
She cleared her throat and said, "I just thought about you being shut out by Xiao Yu, left at the door. Just imagining it is so amusing."
"Sis."
Tang Jun was exasperated and helpless, he was almost dying of anxiety, yet Tang Yue continued to laugh.
He had to face the consequences of his own actions.
"Alright, I’m done laughing. Let’s get serious. Xiao Jun, I’ve anticipated this situation for you a long time ago. So, did you really not prepare to hit a wall?"
Tang Yue composed herself and responded, "It’s normal for Xiao Yu to reject you. After you rejected her so many times before, and after she decided to give up, would she really agree just because you want her back?"
"Not really." Tang Jun, faced with Tang Yue’s question, felt that being rejected was indeed normal.
If Yuan Yu had agreed so easily, that would have been strange.
"So, you shouldn’t be so fragile. You get used to being rejected after a few times." Tang Yue lay back on the sofa, eating a grape and said, "The path of pursuing a wife is long and arduous; you still need to keep working hard."
"What should I do? If I invite her out for dinner, she won’t come." Tang Jun sat downstairs, looking up at Yuan Yu’s apartment building, not knowing what to do.
"She’s in her apartment now, right? She has to eat something eventually. If she doesn’t go out, you can buy her food and have it delivered to her place." Tang Yue suggested, "When pursuing a girl, you need to be a little thick-skinned; you can be persistent, just don’t be annoying."
"Besides, she does have feelings for you, she’s just upset with you. You need to show her your sincerity and win her over."
"Back then, Xiao Yu, a girl, was so persistent in pursuing you. Are you saying you can’t do better than a girl like her?"
"Come on, I’m rooting for you."
After saying that, Tang Yue hung up the phone. She had said so much already—if Tang Jun still didn’t know what to do, then he deserved not to get married.
Downstairs at the apartment building.
Tang Jun thoughtfully considered what Tang Yue had just said. She wasn’t wrong at all; surely he couldn’t let himself be outdone by Xiao Yu, a girl.
Come on.
Tang Jun cheered himself on, thinking he needed to pursue persistently.
Before long, Tang Jun went to buy Yuan Yu’s favorite small wontons from a shop near the company. He vaguely remembered that Yuan Yu especially liked the wontons from that shop.
In the apartment, Yuan Yu, hearing no noise outside, started playing music—Xie Ni’s song, with a signature from Xie Ni. She held the photo and postcard, looking at them again and again. Even though she already had these things, with the signature, they seemed different. Plus, Tang Jun personally went to Xie Ni for her autograph.
He, a grown man, had gone looking for Xie Ni’s autograph like a girl—that scene must have been interesting.
Yuan Yu felt the photo, imagining the scene, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Suddenly, she stuffed everything under the quilt, muttering to herself, "Yuan Yu, Yuan Yu, don’t think about it."
She was hungry.
Yuan Yu forced herself to look for something to eat. After searching the apartment, she only found a pack of instant noodles—there was nothing else to eat.
She’s been visiting Xu Qinglang a lot lately and often just had a few bites in the cafeteria. To her, the apartment was just a place to sleep.
"I’m so hungry."
Yuan Yu lay down on the sofa, exhausted from the day, really not wanting to go out.
But she had eaten instant noodles for so many days that she didn’t want them anymore.
Two thoughts battled in Yuan Yu’s mind: to go out and buy food, or not to go?
Ah.
If only she could have a bowl of steaming small wontons.
It was all Tang Jun’s fault for sticking to her; otherwise, she would’ve gone near the company to have wontons.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Who’s there?"
Yuan Yu, dreaming of small wontons, wondered if she was just imagining things, as she thought she smelled their fragrance.
"It’s me, Tang Jun." Tang Jun’s voice came from outside the door.
Yuan Yu sat up straight, instinctively tidying her messy hair from lying down, then tousling it again, thinking to herself, "Why am I fixing my hair?"
"Xiao Yu."
Outside, Tang Jun’s voice continued.
"What do you want? Didn’t you leave?"
Yuan Yu replied with annoyance, standing by the door, her hand on the cold doorknob, but she dared not open it, fearing that seeing him would make her weak.
Don’t open the door, definitely don’t open it.
"I, I brought you some wontons. Are you hungry?"
Tang Jun’s voice came from outside again. Yuan Yu took a deep breath, and as she seemed to smell the wontons again, she immediately opened the door, finding a rightful excuse for herself.
It was for the small wontons; nothing’s bigger than the hunger in her stomach—she opened the door just for the wontons.
"I thought you might have a hard time cooking alone in the apartment." Tang Jun was still racking his brain for excuses when the door suddenly opened.
Yuan Yu stood at the door fresh and beautiful, and Tang Jun was still wondering why she was unwilling just now, but suddenly agreed.
"Didn’t you say you brought me wontons?" Yuan Yu’s eyes fell on the two bowls in Tang Jun’s hand.
Tang Jun promptly offered the wontons.
Yuan Yu happily took the wontons, set them in the dining room, and as soon as she opened them, the aroma was overwhelming, with scallions sprinkled on top, intensifying her hunger. After just one small wonton, she felt utterly satisfied and said, "Don’t think you can buy me off with just a bowl of wontons."
"I didn’t, I didn’t plan to buy you off with a bowl of wontons."
Tang Jun thick-skinnedly followed her in and sat across from her, eating his wontons heartily. Watching her enjoy the wontons, he reminded, "Be careful, it’s hot. I bought you a large portion to make sure you’re full."
While Yuan Yu had just thought to herself that there seemed to be a lot of wontons today, upon hearing Tang Jun, she paused awkwardly, staring at the nearly finished wontons. She glared at him and said, "Can’t I eat a bit more?"
"Thank you for the wontons. It’s late, you’d better go back now." Yuan Yu put down her chopsticks and politely began to usher him out.
"I have something else to give you."
Tang Jun quickly finished his wontons and handed over concert tickets, saying, "Sister Xie’s concert in Jing City. Want to go together?"
"Concert tickets?" Yuan Yu stared at the ticket, not reacting for a moment.
