Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets

Chapter 875: You Have to Call Me Brother

Chapter 875: Chapter 875: You Have to Call Me Brother

Lian Qingyang definitely wouldn’t notice these things, but he listened in anyway. Tang Jun and the others were talking, not avoiding him, so he pieced it together that Mo Xiaoyu and this Leng Hua had something going on.

Leng Hua, he knew him. He’s from the Leng Family, although they’re not in the same business as the Lian Family, Lian Qingyang was aware of them. However, Leng Hua had been out of sight for a long time, so Lian Qingyang didn’t immediately recognize him.

"You even know about them?" Tang Yue teased. "When are you getting a girlfriend?"

"Sis, I’m still young." Lian Qingyang changed the subject. "Happy birthday, Sis. I couldn’t make it, but I got you a gift."

Just as Tang Yue was about to ask what the gift was, there was a knock at the door. It seemed like an employee from Lian Qingyang’s company, holding a huge teddy bear.

The teddy bear was even taller than Tang Yue, fluffy and very cute.

When Tang Zhengde carried it in, it was quite the sight.

Tang Zhengde was tall and sturdy, and the dark-colored fluffy teddy bear looked quite comical with him.

"How about it, like it?" Lian Qingyang grinned. "I specifically had this made. Don’t worry, the stuffing is top-notch and the fur won’t shed."

Lian Qingyang had gone to great lengths to find this teddy bear.

"I love it." Tang Yue accepted the bear from Tang Zhengde’s hands; she really liked it. The bear was so adorable.

Maybe it’s a girl’s nature, but Tang Yue could never resist such soft, charming bears.

There were plenty of them at home, whether in Jing City or back in Wangjiang County. Sometimes when she was in a good mood, she would hug one to sleep, and when she was upset, the bear would become her stress relief; no matter how you punched it, it remained soft.

Tang Yue always found peace with these bears.

"Mom, Xiao Jun and the others are fine, just some issues at the store, but they’re not hurt. They should be back in a few days," Tang Yue explained to reassure Tang Zhengde and Zhang Hualian.

"It’s good they’re fine. Why did they think of opening a store in the first place?" Zhang Hualian said, puzzled.

Tang Zhengde’s restaurants in Wangjiang County and Jing City were profitable, and the family wasn’t short on money.

So why did Tang Jun think about opening a store too?

"Mom, let them have their fun while they’re young," Tang Yue didn’t see it as a bad thing. No one complains about having too much money, and besides, having another business isn’t a bad idea for a man.

She suggested, "Mom, if there’s a suitable apartment in Jing City, I think we should buy it."

Tang Jun is studying in Jing City for at least a few years, and after graduation, regardless of where he’ll be assigned, having a place in Jing City can be a home.

"Xiao Yue is right. The store’s business is only getting better, so if we save up, we’ll have enough," Tang Zhengde said with a smile. Listening to Tang Yue’s advice to open a store in Wangjiang County was the best decision he ever made.

Otherwise, in these few years, the Tang family wouldn’t have changed so drastically.

Having been in Jing City for half a year and with the store open for several months, it would definitely take some time to recoup costs, but as long as business stays good, Tang Zhengde is confident they’ll earn enough to buy a house.

Buying a house in the Capital City wasn’t something Tang Zhengde would have dared to dream of before.

"If you don’t have enough, I can help pitch in," Tang Yue said with a smile. She’s made quite a bit of money, and helping her parents with the house is no problem at all.

"No need, keep your money for yourself. You’ll have children to raise," Zhang Hualian said, refusing.

Tang Zhengde added, "Exactly, two kids will cost a lot. Don’t worry, Dad has money."

Tang Yue smiled and didn’t press the issue further.

On the first day Meng Siyu left, Tang Yue placed the teddy bear on her bed. To her surprise, having the bear there next to her, she slept quite comfortably on her side, as it supported her stomach nicely. Apart from the occasional loneliness when she got up at night, it was an overall pleasant experience.

Two days passed in a flash.

Tang Jun returned to Jing City with Lian Qingyang.

Tang Jun and Zhang Qiang returned to Jing City early, leaving the store for Wei Jiajie and Mo Weidong to manage.

All four invested the same amount, but since Tang Jun and Zhang Qiang weren’t involved in management, they agreed to only take a thirty percent share of the profits each. Initially, Mo Weidong and Wei Jiajie didn’t want this, but in the end, Tang Jun and Zhang Qiang convinced them.

"Sis, we’re back," Tang Jun said excitedly. He had brought a portable music player from Sea City, a new and popular item that was quite expensive. He spent all his savings on it. He happily said, "Sis, now you can listen to music at home."

"Thank you, Xiao Jun." Tang Yue accepted the player, which had current popular music cassette tapes. You just had to press play to listen.

Zhang Hualian was curious and, after listening to Tang Jun’s explanation, finally understood what it was for.

"Xiao Jun, is your store alright?" Zhang Hualian looked over Tang Jun and Zhang Qiang and seeing they weren’t injured, felt reassured.

Tang Jun explained everything, finally putting Zhang Hualian’s worries to rest. He said, "Mom, hurry to the kitchen and make some dishes. I want sweet and sour ribs."

"Mom, I want beef stew with potatoes, Mapo Tofu, and cold okra salad," Lian Qingyang, having not tasted Zhang Hualian’s cooking in a long time, was craving them.

"Alright, I’ll cook for you all."

Zhang Hualian, looking at her children, felt more and more joyful.

"Lian Qingyang, don’t you have any shame? I’ve already shared my sister with you, and now you’re fighting over my mom?" Tang Jun was displeased hearing Lian Qingyang call Zhang Hualian "mom." She was clearly his mom, so how could Lian Qingyang be so thick-skinned?

"Uh..." Zhang Hualian paused, taking a step toward the kitchen. Tang Jun didn’t know about Lian Qingyang’s reversed family story because he had been in Sea City.

Sitting under the shade of a tree, listening to music, Tang Yue couldn’t help but touch her nose and said, "Xiao Jun, Xiao Yang is also mom’s son."

"Impossible," Tang Jun immediately denied.

"Tang Jun, it’s me who shared my sister with you this time. My sister and I are biological siblings from the same parents, and we’re twins too," Lian Qingyang said proudly. He still remembered the disappointment he felt when he thought he wasn’t Lian He’s son.

Tang Jun had hurt him often enough, but now he finally had his moment of triumph.

Oops, wait, he’s not a slacker.

"Tang Jun, I know you’re jealous because I’m my sister’s biological brother, but don’t worry, I’ll share her with you. Oh, and I’m older than you, so you should call me brother," Lian Qingyang said with an excited gleam in his eyes. "Yes, you have to call me brother."
