Chapter 881: Homecoming
Chapter 881: Chapter 881: Homecoming
"Stomach pain?" Zhang Hualian had just breathed a sigh of relief, and now her heart was instantly on edge.
"Yeah, I think I’m going into labor." Tang Yue rubbed her stomach, feeling the contractions. Even though she had never given birth before, she knew the pain meant it was time.
"Xiao Yue, don’t be scared, I’ll go get the doctor right away." Zhang Hualian instinctively went to find a doctor. Flustered and worried, she didn’t even notice her coat slipping off as she hurriedly looked for the on-duty doctor.
The doctor confirmed and said, "You’ve dilated two centimeters, can you still move around now?"
The doctor, a very experienced female obstetrician in her forties named Doctor Li, had been overseeing Tang Yue’s stay in the hospital, thoroughly understanding her condition.
Now that she’s only dilated two centimeters, there’s some time before entering the delivery room. Walking around now would help with the labor later.
"I can." Tang Yue felt the pain in her stomach but could still stand upright.
Zhang Hualian immediately stepped forward to support Tang Yue, cautiously helping her put on her shoes. She said, "Xiao Yue, if the pain gets too bad, just tell me."
The doctor also advised that if her stomach starts to harden and tighten, or if the contractions become more frequent, it would be time to go into the delivery room.
Zhang Hualian kept it in mind. When she gave birth at home, there weren’t such detailed instructions from a doctor. Now, in the middle of the night, Zhang Hualian accompanied Tang Yue, walking around the corridor, circle after circle.
"Does it hurt?"
"Is your stomach tightening or hardening?"
Every few steps, Zhang Hualian would ask again.
Tang Yue’s face turned somewhat pale with the pain. Besides the pain in her stomach, she wasn’t too nervous, just filled with anticipation.
"Mom, where’s your coat? It’s chilly at night, you should be wearing it."
Tang Yue reminded her.
Only then did Zhang Hualian remember that she had left her coat back in the ward.
Zhang Hualian realized that Tang Yue couldn’t hold on until daylight, and decided not to wait any longer. Even though Tang Yue tried to stop her, Zhang Hualian quietly informed others. It was only 1 AM. She didn’t know when Tang Yue would give birth, but having more people there made her feel at ease.
Especially since Tang Yue was carrying twins, Zhang Hualian was even more worried.
After Tang Zhengde received the call, he planned to go to the hospital immediately, but Zhang Hualian asked him to make some soup. Tang Zhengde said, "Alright, you take good care in the hospital. I’ll make some soup now."
Zhang Hualian also called Meng Jin’s family. Since Tang Yue was about to give birth, the in-laws surely needed to be informed.
Mo Xiaolin had been worried about Tang Yue and concerned about any updates from Si Yu’s side, so she hadn’t slept. When Zhang Hualian told her that Tang Yue was about to give birth, she immediately said she would come over.
After hanging up, Mo Xiaolin quickly called the hospital in Qing City and informed Meng Jin that Tang Yue was in labor.
Mo Xiaolin hurried to the hospital.
Meng Jin returned to the ward, and just upon entering, he saw several doctors rushing in. His heart skipped a beat, fearing something had happened to Si Yu. He ran over in large strides and felt a rush of emotion upon seeing Si Yu awake.
Maybe it’s a connection of the heart.
Once he confirmed Si Yu was alright, Meng Jin arranged for a helicopter to the hospital in Jing City.
In Jing City, at the hospital.
When Mo Xiaolin hurriedly arrived, Tang Yue was about to enter the delivery room.
"Xiao Yue, how are you?" Mo Xiaolin anxiously approached, seeing Tang Yue’s pale face. Although the early morning was cold, she worried when Tang Yue broke into a sweat.
"Mom, I’m fine." Tang Yue managed to smile faintly, her bright eyes standing out starkly against her pale face.
Accompanying in the delivery room wasn’t customary, so Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian could only wait anxiously outside.
Inside, Doctor Li had taken over from the on-call doctor, and her nurses were continuously instructing Tang Yue on how to push. Giving birth to twins would naturally be more challenging.
Doctor Li pressed on Tang Yue’s stomach, and coupled with the pain from contractions, it made Tang Yue feel as if she might pass out from the pain at any moment.
"If it hurts, you can scream." Doctor Li, having delivered many babies, had never seen someone like Tang Yue, who was so silent throughout labor. Her forehead was soaked with sweat, her small face was as white as a sheet, yet her eyes were strikingly bright.
She bit her lip so hard that traces of blood were visible.
Tang Yue blinked and shook her head slightly. She could endure this bit of pain, and screaming would only waste more energy.
"You’re doing great. Both your babies are in good positions and average size, so a natural delivery is possible," Doctor Li encouraged. Based on regular exams, Tang Yue’s babies were well-positioned, and as long as her dilation progressed, the babies should come out easily.
Inside, Tang Yue was quietly in labor, which only made Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin waiting outside more anxious.
"Why is Xiao Yue so silent during labor?" Zhang Hualian couldn’t help but recall her own difficult delivery.
No, Xiao Yue is in a hospital, with a very experienced doctor like Doctor Li, nothing will go wrong.
"Xiao Yue will safely deliver the babies."
Mo Xiaolin, at a loss for words, kept tiptoeing, trying to catch a glimpse of what was happening through the obscured glass, even if she couldn’t see anything.
Unable to stand still, Mo Xiaolin called Qing City again and received the news that Si Yu was awake and on his way. Excited, she went to the delivery room door, bumping into a nurse, and quickly asked her to pass on the message.
Knowing Si Yu was on his way, Tang Yue felt a surge of strength.
Doctor Li saw the situation and considered it a good sign. Everything was progressing smoothly. Tang Yue’s dilation wasn’t particularly fast, but at least she was dilated to nine centimeters, ready for the babies to be born.
Somehow, the sky outside began to lighten, the sun rising in the east, breaking the dawn, as a helicopter landed on the hospital rooftop.
"Dad, why are you here?"
Meng Jin, accompanied by Si Yu in a hospital gown, disembarked the helicopter to find Old Master Meng had arrived.
"How could I not be here when my great-grandchildren are arriving?"
Old Master Meng had prepared the helicopter early when he got Meng Jin’s call. The moment Si Yu woke up, arrangements were made to quickly get to the hospital, and with Old Master Meng’s efforts, they had landed directly on the hospital rooftop.
Though Tang Yue wasn’t experiencing a difficult delivery, who knew what dangers could arise?
