Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets

Chapter 892: Thank You, Husband

Chapter 892: Chapter 892: Thank You, Husband

"Xiao Rou, what nonsense are you talking about?" Sun Qing’s voice was somewhat shy.

"Sister, you are three years older than me, and now you’re already twenty-five. Because of my illness, you haven’t gotten married yet, and I feel very guilty," Sun Rou’s voice was a bit somber. "Sister, if there’s someone suitable, someone you like, you shouldn’t refuse."

"I’ve grown up now, and I can make money in the future so that Daddy and Mom don’t have to work so hard." Sun Rou said, still feeling guilty about how her illness had been a burden not only to her sister but also to her parents, who spent most of their earnings on her medical bills.

Sun Rou already felt very remorseful. If her sister remained unmarried because of her, it would make her feel even worse.

"Xiao Rou, I’m currently following Tang Yue in design and have learned a lot. I don’t have any plans to get married right now," Sun Qing diverted the topic, saying, "By the way, how is your night school going? Do you understand what the teachers are teaching?"

"It’s okay." Sun Rou nodded. Even though she hadn’t attended high school, she had been self-studying at home over the years and asked her sister questions when she returned. Now, in night school, she understands much of what the teachers say and doesn’t find it very difficult.

"That’s good. Study well in night school, and in the future, you can get a good job with your diploma." Sun Qing turned over and asked again, "If you’re interested in design, you can study it well too."

"Sister, one designer in our family is enough. I’m very interested in clothes, but I prefer selling them." Sun Rou also turned over; even though one was on the top bunk and the other on the bottom bunk, when Sun Rou got excited, she sat up, saying, "Sister, I think your clothes would sell well. Do you think opening a store would make money?"

"You want to open a store?" Sun Qing simply climbed down from the top bunk to join her sister on the small bed, which was cramped, but neither felt it was a bother. Sun Qing asked sideways, "Xiao Rou, there are a few clothing stores in Jing City, but it’s so big; you could open one elsewhere."

"Sister, I’m just thinking about it. Right now, I just need to focus on my night school." Sun Rou said with a light smile, thinking she would like to open a store, but it would require quite a bit of capital.

"That’s right, Xiao Rou. Your health isn’t good, so you should rest more during the day, read some books, and not overexert yourself with night school in the evenings."

Sun Qing and Sun Rou talked deeply and sincerely, and even though they were not blood-related, the familial bond from childhood was unbreakable.

"Honey, I asked someone to help look for the neighboring elderly couple’s son. Maybe he can still be found," Meng Siyu knew she wanted to buy the neighboring house, and he did too since the studio was far away and inconvenient. He said, "Don’t worry, even if the elderly couple doesn’t sell, others might."

"Hmm." Tang Yue nodded, completely forgetting about last night’s incident. She said, "Don’t worry about this; you’ve just recovered and need to rest well."

"I’m off to the company." Meng Siyu kissed the two children, gave Tang Yue one last kiss, told her to keep sleeping, and then left.

Tang Yue turned over and went back to sleep. She had just changed Zaozao and Little Chenchen’s diapers and fed them, so they should sleep for another couple of hours.

Having finished her confinement period, Tang Yue couldn’t stay at home any longer and went to the studio, which was a half-hour walk away. Because she had just finished her confinement, Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian reminded her to avoid the wind, so she walked.

The familiar studio was now bustling, with Xin Jiar and Peng Yufei having gone to Wangjiang County.

Sun Qing was helping Deng Lanhua get familiar with the studio when she saw Tang Yue arrive. Deng Lanhua strode forward, asking, "Xiao Yue, why did you come out right after your confinement?"

"It’s fine, I’m wearing a hat." Tang Yue pointed to the baseball cap on her head.

"Sister Deng, how’s everything going, are you getting used to it?" Tang Yue glanced around the familiar studio, realizing she hadn’t been there in a long time.

Deng Lanhua smiled, saying, "I’m getting used to it. It’s just colder here than at home."

"It’s okay, it’s not that cold inside," Tang Yue explained with a smile. When she first came to Jing City, she also felt that its winters were much colder compared to Wangjiang County. However, the indoors were still warm even if the outside was chilly.

Tang Yue hadn’t come to the studio just for small talk. Before long, Jin Yan arrived, and the group immediately got busy. Today, they were making sample garments, and some fabrics were only available at the studio, not at the factory.

Mid-morning, Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian arrived, each pushing a stroller. Zaozao and Little Chenchen were hungry.

"Mom, thank you for your hard work." Tang Yue looked at the two children, who began to cry from hunger, and felt heartbroken.

"Chenchen, don’t cry." Tang Yue took Chenchen to the inner room to feed him, and then she switched to feeding Zaozao.

"Xiao Yue, Zaozao and Chenchen don’t like formula milk. We just tried to make some for them, but after a few sips, they started crying," Zhang Hualian sighed, feeling helpless. They had thought that formula could also be used at home with the kids.

But it seemed that Zaozao and Chenchen still preferred breast milk.

"It’s okay, I’m just at the studio today. I should be at home tomorrow," Tang Yue said. If this were to happen every day, she would feel very distressed.

The thought of moving the studio closer to home became even stronger.

...

There was noise from the neighbors’ side that day, and it seemed like the elderly couple’s son had returned. Their emotional cries could not be blocked by the wall.

Had he returned?

Tang Yue’s eyes lit up instantly. She wished she could immediately go next door to discuss buying the house, but thinking that their son had just returned home, it seemed inappropriate to bring up house buying right away.

While she was anxious, someone knocked on their door.

Lian Qingyang got up to open it, finding the elderly couple from next door. He asked, "Grandpa Xu, Granny Xu, is something the matter?"

"It’s like this: my son has returned, and he plans to take us old folks to Jin City, so we intend to sell this house. Does your previous offer still stand?" Granny Xu’s eyes were filled with happy tears.

Tang Yue came out in disbelief and asked, "Granny Xu, are you really going to sell it?"

"Indeed," Granny Xu nodded, excitedly holding Tang Yue’s hand, saying, "My son said it was your husband who helped him return home, thank you to him for that."

"Ah..."

Tang Yue looked at Granny Xu, dumbfounded, only listening as Granny Xu and Grandpa Xu were determined to sell the house and move to Jin City to reunite with their son and daughter.
