Chapter 933: Budding Beauty
Chapter 933: Chapter 933: Budding Beauty
"Wife." Si Yu bent down, whispering softly next to Tang Yue’s ear.
Tang Yue, half-asleep, turned over and mumbled, "What."
"Wife!"
Si Yu looked at the sweetly sleeping Tang Yue with a grievance; he really didn’t have the heart to wake her. He had no choice but to snuggle beside her, wrapping his arms around her to sleep.
She carried a faint fragrance of having just bathed, the scent kept wafting into his nostrils. For Si Yu, who had been abstinent for a while, it was a kind of sweet torture. Just as he was finally about to fall asleep, Zaozao woke up and started crying.
Tang Yue squinted her eyes and held Zaozao in her arms to breastfeed, while Chenchen was also pouting, about to cry.
Si Yu hurriedly got up, changed Chenchen’s wet diaper. Chenchen, hungry, started crying loudly. Si Yu held Chenchen in one hand and made milk formula with the other. Chenchen took a few sips and then pouted again, looking like he was about to cry.
"Chenchen, be good. Your brother is drinking milk from mother, so you drink the formula," Si Yu coaxed softly, glancing at Tang Yue on the bed breastfeeding. In the dim light, even though her eyes could barely stay open from tiredness, she steadily held Zaozao, breastfeeding.
"Si Yu, did Chenchen drink the formula?" Tang Yue looked up to see Chenchen in Si Yu’s arms, unexpectedly feeling that the little girl was quite well-behaved today, as she usually refuses formula.
"He did."
Si Yu spoke softly, sitting by the bed, looking at her with heartache, "Xiao Yue, you taking care of two kids alone at night is too hard."
"You’ll get used to it; usually they wake up separately. Who knew they’d wake up together today." Tang Yue smiled, saying, "Whether it’s my mom or your mom, they already have their hands full looking after the kids and doing housework during the day. If we let them handle nights too, who do you want to tire out?"
"I know. Do you think I’m tired?" Tang Yue countered, "Aside from the days apart, you’re at home most nights, right?"
"Yes." Si Yu nodded. After training during the day, he could come home at night unless duty called him away; otherwise, he was basically at home.
"That’s right. Once winter is over and spring comes, the kids will have grown a lot and won’t need us to get up at night." Tang Yue thought clearly, the two moms worked hard every day as it was, managing on her own at night meant not tiring them out further.
"Wife." Si Yu wished he could hold her in his arms, but he was already holding the little Chenchen.
"Haha~"
Tang Yue playfully blinked, knowing Si Yu wanted to hug her but couldn’t. She chuckled softly, changing Zaozao’s diaper, carefully placing her back on the bed where she slept sweetly.
Chenchen probably still a bit hungry after finishing the formula, so Tang Yue fed him a little more, finishing every drop, and Chenchen fell asleep too.
Tang Yue nestled into his embrace, and within two minutes, she was asleep again.
Si Yu held her tightly, his mind not on anything else.
*
Morning.
The Xiangquan Lake Villa was bustling.
The Lian Family was all there.
Lian He and his family didn’t need to be mentioned, they had always lived here, so had Lian Qingyang and the couple Lian Tong, never leaving, making it lively.
Second Uncle Lian’s family of four, Third Uncle Lian’s family of five, all came over.
Today, Lian Qingxuan brought her two kids, Xue Yu and Xue Xianxian, who were very well-mannered, each calling out to her sweetly as ’Aunt Yue’.
"Xiao Yu and Xianxian are really well-behaved." Tang Yue praised, noticing their looks that inherited all of Lian Qingxuan’s good features. Xiao Yu grew up handsome and delicate, while Xianxian was as pretty as a little princess.
"Xiao Yue, don’t praise them too much; when they’re naughty, they can be quite noisy too." Lian Qingxuan laughed as she said this.
The Lian Family gathered together and specially invited a professional photographer to the lawn outside the Xiangquan Lake Villa, arranging chairs. The back row, for instance, was raised forty centimeters with wooden boxes, specially crafted to be stable.
Old Sir Lian sat in the center, while a portrait of Grandma Lian was placed on the chair next to him.
The black-and-white portrait couldn’t hide Grandma Lian’s beauty.
This was the first time Tang Yue saw Grandma Lian’s portrait; surely, when alive, Grandma Lian must have been an extraordinarily beautiful woman.
"Xiao Yue, wasn’t your grandma beautiful?" Old Sir Lian chuckled, looking at Grandma Lian’s photo, a proud smile on his face, "Back then, your grandma was renowned in Sea City. Being able to marry her was a blessing I earned over several lifetimes."
Old Sir Lian looked at Grandma Lian’s photo, his gaze was exceptionally gentle.
Since Grandma Lian passed away, it’s been thirty years now. Thirty years ago, Old Sir Lian was in his prime. In these thirty-plus years, even though Old Sir Lian held a high position, he never married again. Just this affection earned him Tang Yue’s great respect.
"To be married to you, Grandma must have felt happy too." Tang Yue knelt in front of Old Sir Lian, her gaze solemnly fixed on Grandma Lian. In the portrait, Grandma Lian’s features showed nothing but gentleness, her eyes brimmed with happiness. Surely, back then, Grandma Lian lived a joyful life.
"Yes." Old Sir Lian sighed with emotion, Lian Qingyang joined in, grinning, "Grandpa, Grandma in the afterlife, seeing us - her proud grandchildren, Sis and me, she’d be happy. Today our whole family is together, we should start taking pictures."
Today Lian Qingyang also wore a traditional Chinese suit, looking like a dashing young man from the 1930s or 40s.
In the first row were Old Sir Lian and Grandma Lian’s portrait, while in the second row were Lian He, Lian Jun, and Lian Ping, along with their wives.
Lian He and his two brothers all wore traditional Chinese attire, while the women wore qipao.
In the second row, beside Lian He, were Gu Chun and Lian Tong.
All Lian Family men wore traditional Chinese attire, differing only in color, while all the women wore qipao, giving off an old-world feeling.
Tang Yue also donned a qipao today, with a bright red shawl draped over her, feeling not at all cold.
Tang Yue and Lian Qingyang stood in the middle, with Meng Si Yu beside Tang Yue in a white shirt.
On Lian Qingyang’s right were the three sisters of the Lian Family, followed by Lian Qinghang and Lian Qingpei.
Xue Yu and Xue Xianxian stood on either side of Grandpa Lian, with a layer of carpet spread on the ground. Zaozao and Chenchen couldn’t sit yet, using a circle of small pillows as soft supports around them, making it seem like they were sitting.
The Lian Family was quite large, and the photographer took many pictures. Gathering so many people was not easy, so taking more photos ensured there would be good options even if some didn’t turn out well.
Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin crouched beside the photographer, teasing little Zaozao and Little Chenchen, making the two kids laugh heartily.
"Is the ’cheese’ sweet?" The photographer called out, pressing the shutter, capturing a big family photo.
"Sweet."
